Married

It was a good day,

Alicia was sitted by the makeup table after her wonderful and luxurious petal bath. Her skin was soothed already by that one bath, she felt an overall calmness within her internal body. Even her skin seemed to smoothen even more, her texture flooding with brass coolness. She stared into the mirror as her reflection appeared in it, her black as midnight hair was tied up elegantly in a bun so that the wedding veil would hang freely over her head.

It was the day she dreaded the most, her wedding; especially to Samson.

Her bridesmaids were getting her ready for the ceremony as they applied light make-up to her face making it more of a less beautification so that she wouldn't appear as a clown in front of her groom. She stood up to the elegant white gown bobbing out overly excited for the day at hand, it's color was a pure white. A part of Alicia wasn't satisfied with her looks especially when she knew that the man she was getting married to was a bitter type. She wanted to look more appealing for him at least so she rejected every odd jewelries just in case.

Fully dressed, she was made to seat in the room on her florescent colored bed. She was wise to have her's and Samson's phone with her so that she could give it to him once they meet again today. The groom and his family wasn't here yet that was why she was asked to sit around for a while until their arrival was announced.

***

When the groom and his family finally arrived, they immediately started the procession. Samson stood at the very end of the aisle as he waited for Alicia to Join him. Alicia stood bracing herself so that she wouldn't trip to her gown and she didn't want to imagine how embarrassing it would be if she actually did fall, maybe Samson would call her a clumsy weirdo...well that doesn't matter. The hall decorated for the wedding was filled with nothing but pure extravagance, definitely this would be her dad's handwork. Samson stood somewhat cockily, his head lowered as he dispatched some dust off his blue tailored suit. And when finally he raised his head, Alicia came to his view. He was awestruck, she was like a pretty goddess who's beauty knew no bounds his eyes only glimmered at the sight of her, but his expression remained blank. Finally Alicia joined him in her graceful beauty. He was suddenly feeling nervous at their sudden closeness but his nervousness turned into something else when Alicia suddenly pulled his hands. For a minute her was lost at the soft feeling Alicia's hand pierced him with but the next minute his phone was placed onto his palm. Samson raised his head to her and Alicia's face held a cheeky smile.

"Hey look, your phone.... in good shape" Alicia said and focused back on the crowd before them.

Finally sitted before the constructed alter, the priest arrived and the next section of the wedding started. Alicia and Samson stood on opposite direction facing each other, and they held their hands per the priest instruction. It started off pretty good with some "I do's"

.....

"do you take him/her as your lawfully wedded wife/husband?"

"I do"

"I do"

"... to stay with him/her through thick and thin? ...in sorrow and in Joy...?"

"I do"

"I do"

......

Both Alicia and Samson signed on the marriage certificate and the priest pronounced them married, although neither of agreed to the "you may now kiss the bride"

Alicia's eyes watered because after the last section of the wedding which is the grand reception, she would be finally separated from her parents, sisters and family.

Samuel's older son Jamie came and hugged Alicia,

"I'll miss you big cousin sis" Jamie said. He was used to being shameless at all times but this time he held it in. Alicia could only smile at the young man.

"I'll miss you too Jamie.... Ah, where's Lucas?"

Alicia asked as she swiftly cleaned up the tears threatening to fall off her eyes. Jamie stood up as if trying to remember something.

"Oh no, I left him alone to guard the cake"

Jamie said and Alicia laughed

"so, he's eating the cake?" she asked almost unable to hide that feeling of amusement trying to crawl it's way out of her florescent green eyes and Jamie nodded.

In some minute later, little Lucas came to them smiling ridiculously, his mouth and his face were all smudged with chocolate cake and he uttered simply,

"uh... congratulations...?" his sentence was more of a question. Alicia did her best to stay as far away from him as possible, she was still on her wedding attire and it must not get stained. Alicia met up with Rauline and Rosaline her sisters. Rauline and Rosaline were twins but Rosaline acted like the eldest.

"Hey, sis congrats" Rosaline said and hugged Alicia who's lips curved up slightly

"you girls be good ok, don't make father talk too much you know, he's a sucker for stubbornness" Alicia and Rauline smiled a bit rudely "concentrate on your life, we can handle father" she said and Alicia chuckled

"are you serious? tell me how?" Alicia inquired and Rauline's smile widened,

"not telling ya" her focus drawn to her phone but Alicia pulled her and gave her a surprise hug making Rauline frown.

"I will miss you though"

she said "it's ok, cut the crap! I hate hugs" Rauline said making Alicia and Rosaline giggle.

Alicia met Diler and Bella and gave them a hug that lasted for eternity and Diler couldn't help the pool of tears that formed in his pupil ready to stream out.

"Dear be good to your in-laws ok" Bella advised and Alicia laughed,

"you shouldn't be reminding me of that mom" Alicia said and laughed. She hugged her mom again before she left to meet Samuel and Jean who hugged her.

The reception party finally started and it took on for hours and it ended pretty much late and just like Alicia guessed, she had no time to see her family one more time that was why she decided to see them before the grand reception started off earlier.

Alicia's heart held all manner of questions and a fear off the unknown thinking that maybe this marriage was a mistake or was it?.

What she prayed for at the moment was to see her dad's face once more, maybe it would calm her down but that didn't happen, not even a single member of her family came to view. "Ok...calm down Alicia, you're married now, there's nothing to be scared of" Alicia tried to pacify herself, besides Matthew and Lizzy seemed to be nice themselves so she quickly went to them.

Lizzy, seeing the look in her face cupped her cheeks gently.

"What's wrong dear?" She asked and Alicia stared intently at her. "Mom, am... nervous" she said and Lizzy gave a smile as she embraced Alicia in a warm loving hug.

"I once felt that way after I got married to Matthew, so it's normal" Lizzy said and Alicia found herself becoming calm plus Lizzie's gentle stroke on her back seem to be easing away all the fear and nervousness she felt earlier. Suddenly,

"I need my wife now mom"

Alicia stiffened hearing the familiar voice make that one sentence, it was Samson, "damn!" she should have known better. Lizzy laughed and pulled Alicia as she smiled,

"go now, your husband wants you" Lizzy ushered and Alicia slowly turned only to the man still in his blue tailored suit just meters away from her, hands crossed behind his back and his usual expressionless face.
