ZARA

If there was one person I knew Ezra hated, it was the man that was seating before me. Xavier Moon, the head of the Malani Rouge Empire.

“What do you want from me?”

I asked, there was no way he could be here by my side without a motive.

“I felt your Aura, it was very powerful.” He said, I was confused at the moment.

“What Aura? I’m an Omega!” I said, he chuckled.

“But you are mated to Ezra, I knew you were the Queen the moment I walked in here.” He said, I took in a deep breath.

“But I haven’t been marked, that’s not possible,” I said.

“But you stayed with him in the same room, but, shockingly, a king didn’t immediately claim his mate.” He said, I looked away. Lycan Kings were possessive and if he could feel that I was the Queen, then other werewolves can and they would for sure sense that Ezra does not love me.

“Yeah! Shocking!” I said sarcastically and he laughed.

“Ezra is a very funny man, I would claim a woman like you in a second.” He said, I raised a brow at him and he chuckled.

“What do you want from me, Xavier? And why couldn’t I sense that you were a werewolf?” I asked.

“Because I am not a regular wolf, I’m a rouge and a half-human.” He said.

“You mean one of your parents is a human?” I asked and he nodded.

“Yeah, my mother is a human, that’s why I stay here.” He said something felt fishy about him.

“That’s cool!” I said, glancing at the clock that hung on the wall.

“Xavier!” I heard a familiar voice call out to him, he turned around calmly and Willow stood before him with her arms at akimbo.

“Willow!” He called out to her, she seemed shocked seeing us together. She took a calm stride over to us and sat next to him.

“Hi, you two know each other?” She asked. I nodded no.

“No, we met here, you know her?” Xavier asked.

“She’s the lady that wanted the job!” Willow said, Xavier shifted his gaze to me calmly.

“Then you are hired!” He said, Willow raised her brows.

“She does not have any certificate,” Willow said, Xavier, did not look like he gave a fuck.

“That doesn’t matter, she understands English and I’ve spoken to her and I like her.” He said, Willow shook her head and got up to her feet.

“Well, Welcome to the Moon Empire, Uhm…” She said, with her arm extended.

“Zara, My name is Zara!” I said, she shook my arm and then gave Xavier one last glance before walking away. She walked into the kitchen, which was weird of her.

“I don’t think I want this job!” I said, he took a sip of his drink.

“I’m not gonna force you, but you look like you need it.” He said, I raised a brow, and he raised his arm in surrender.

“I don’t mean it in a bad way, all I meant was that for the mate of a Lycan King to be in search of a job, it means he is very bad toward her. And Ezra is ruthless, so I can only imagine the things he must have said and done to you,” He said, he sounded so familiar with Ezra.

“He has done nothing to me, I can’t accept your job, I’m sorry,” I said to him.

“Why?” He asked, he sounded very serious.

“Because…” I couldn’t complete my statement because I had no reason why I wouldn’t want to take up the job.

“Here’s my card, whenever you change your mind, give me a call.” He said, he wiped his mouth with a napkin.

“Okay, thank you very much,” I said, he gave me a charming smile before exiting. I sat there, staring at the card before me, I knew there was no way I was going to call him. I can not work for the moon empire, that’s never gonna happen.

On cue, I saw Luciano walking in with a broad smile gracing his face. “Hey, Zara!” He said the second he saw me and was before me.

“Woah! How did you pay for all this?” He asked, I chuckled.

“A man paid for it all!” I said, he stared at me with a teasing grin.

“It’s not what you are thinking, he was simply being nice, I think,” I said.

“Hmm, no man would pay for a stranger's food without a motive.” He said, I rolled my eyes.

“Can we leave now? I’m sleepy!”

I said to him, and he nodded.

“Did you get a job?” He asked as we walked out of the restaurant and over to his car.

“Uhm, I think so,” I said, I opened the door of the car and sat in it as soon as we were before it.

“What do you mean by you think so?” He asked.

“Well, what I mean is, Xavier Moon gave me a job,” I said and the car automatically came to an abrupt stop.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, he looked very shocked.

“Did you accept the job?” He asked, I nodded no and he took in a very deep breath.

“What is it? Is there a problem?” I asked he nodded yes.

“Ezra hates him, I’m sure you know he’s the King of the Malani Rouge Empire.” He said and I nodded. Every werewolf and Lycan knows who the King of the Malani Rouge Empire is.

“Yeah!” I said.

“So Ezra hates him, and if you work for him, he’ll hate you even more.” He said, I sighed.

“I don’t care if he hates me even more, I wish I could reject him,” I said.

“I wish you could too, but trust me, you do not wanna get on Ezra’s nerves, especially if he finds out you work for Xavier moon,” He said, I didn’t care. But then, working for Xavier Moon would also mean betraying the entire werewolf and lycan pack. Which is not gonna be good at all.
