When the others return from the territory gates, I am not sure what I expected to hear. But the fact that Kendall’s father was found and captured hadn’t been it. This was one of the things we had been waiting for. It was a step towards the closure Kendall needed so he could become the Alpha of Rip Claw pack. He loved his people and blamed himself for not doing something sooner to make their lives better. He didn’t take into account that he was doing something now and that his people would understand that he had to do things the way he did for them.

The other thing I never expected was for Gideon to find his mate. He has been a friend to our family all of my life and it has always just been him.
