When the sun rays flickered through the curtains, Shane stirred in his sleep and opened his eyes. But immediately, he felt he really shouldn’t have. His headache was so severe, his head felt like splitting in half.

But when his eyes caught sight of Lilian peacefully sleeping beside him, his headache was forgotten for a few moments.

He stared at her calm face. A few hair strands came on her face and he involuntarily reached his hand and tucked them behind her ear. His hand traced her cheek softly in the process.

Lilian opened her eyes yet his fingers stayed on her cheek stubbornly. He didn’t put any effort to pull them back as well.

Lilian didn’t seem to mind it anyway and smiled at him. Shane stared at her as something stirred within him.

Their staring moment came to an end real quick as a realization dawned upon them.

They weren’t supposed to wake up together this way.
