SCARLETT:

Daddy came out of the kitchen with an apron around his neck, I smiled as I watched him walk towards me, a warm smile on his face. He is my dad and also my mum. Mum left us when I was ten years old, that was seven years ago. Since then dad has been both our mum and also our dad. For Maxon and I. Maxon is my younger brother. Max has been a pain in the ass while we were growing up and he mostly got into fights or pranked a teacher or did something disgusting but dad raised us well by himself. I am Scarlett Victoria Evans.

" Dinner is ready honey" Dad said calmly as he got close to me and then he gave me a smile. I looked at him and beamed happily as I stood up from the couch. Dad makes the best anything, he is a really good cook so we are all always rooting for dad's dinner or lunch or breakfast. 

" What's for dinner dad? " I asked as I walked to the dinner table with him following 

" Meatball and sauce" he said rubbing his palms together. Did I mention that my dad is a great cook too, he would be very rich if he opened a restaurant but he is a medical doctor, a surgeon to be precise.

" Daddy could you set the table, I will call Maxon down for dinner " I said. Maxon is my younger brother's name.

" No problem honey, home down soon so we can eat while its still hot "he said then he left for the kitchen. As soon as dad entered the kitchen, I ran up the stairs to get Max.

" Max, dad wants us down for dinner " I said knocking on his door. He takes a few seconds before he opens the door but  immediately he opened the door, he was smiling widely as he came out and locked his room. 

Weird

" Why are you smiling like that? " I asked him as we got down the stairs together. 

" I see that you are curious. Well while I was trying so hard to do my calculus assignment, I heard engine sounds and guess what " he asked as we moved to the dinning. 

" I was very happy when you were giving me details so don't ask me to guess when I'm already so curious. Just tell me already you moron " I said then I sat down at the table while max took the chair opposite me. Dad was already seated. 

" Well the engine sound was actually coming from a truck " he said and I frowned.

" Really max? How is a tow truck engine something to be happy about? " I asked with my mouth full.

" Don't talk with your mouth full " dad said talking with his mouth full.. Really dad?

" Well I know where I got that bad habit from " I muttered and max chuckled. 

" Okay stupid, the tow truck wasn't the one that lightened my mood, its the girl that walked out of the tow truck " he finally said beaming.

" I should have known that it was because of a girl. you this fifteen year old player " I yelled at him.

" Again don't talk with your mouth full " dad said but we ignored him again 

" I'm not a player, I just basically saw her and I'm not done so stop interrupting me will you " he yelled back at me

" Okay fine I won't,keep talking" I said putting the last meat ball into my mouth. I'm craving for more too.

" Then the cute girl walked up into the next compound , as in the house next to ours. Can you imagine? . I hope she goes to our school " he said as he started eating. I rolled my eyes at him 

" Your hormones scare me each day Max "I said feigning disappoinment

" So what's the point of the whole story max? " Dad asked him

" You are just too old dad, you don't know what hotness is " max said and dad actually put his hands over his chest causing me to chuckle.

" You hurt me son, I practically invented hotness " he said then he stood up, then carried his plates to the kitchen.

Oh God save me

" Plus she has an elder brother " he said smirking at me

" Shut up " I said as I stuffed a meatball from his plate into his mouth.

" What's that for? " He asked, confusion over his face

" Don't eat with your mouth full " I said, laughed and I also picked up my empty place before going into the kitchen.

" Really scar? I wasn't even eating anything yet " he yelled.

" Oh what am I kidding, she can't even hear me again " he said before chewing the meatball.

" You know sometimes I think maxon is older than you Scarlett " dad said while we were doing the dishes later that night.

" Keep telling yourself that till you finally believe it. "  "I'm a matured adult " I said as I put the dishes back in the plate rack.

" I will keep that in mind then honey " he chuckled

" Do you think the girl is hot? " Dad asked me and I laughed

" I hope so cause she would be so perfect then for maxon's ugly face" I said 

" Well you know he took his handsomeness from this face " dad said using his soapy hands to touch his face and I rolled my eyes with a smile. Living with two guys is such a huge deal 

" Thats why mum left us. She couldn't take on your handsome face dad " I said smiling as dad chuckled.

" Yeah she wasn't bold enough to keep up with this face " he said as he dried his hands with the towel. He makes a joke about mum leaving him like it's nothing everytime but I know he was hurting inside and it hurts me too, it's just sometimes he thinks that we should have a mother and that he isn't enough which I strongly disagree with

" I just want you to be happy honey, including maxon too " he said as he stared at me sadly.

" Don't you give me that look dad, we are very happy with you and we love you " I said as I stood on my toes and  kissed his cheek.

"I love you, Goodnight honey " he said before leaving the kitchen. I washed my hands too

" I love you more daddy " I sighed
