Lucy.

The smell of blood was everywhere when Riven reached out her hand to me. Her fingers were covered in someone else’s blood. I stared at her hand for a few seconds too long, and I was caught between fear and the desperate need to stay alive.

“You want to survive the full moon?” she said in a low, steady voice that sounded both dark and calm. “You’re going to need more than courage. You need a crew.”

I paused. I didn’t trust her. Honestly, I didn’t think anyone in this hellhole could be trusted. But one thing was clear the full moon was coming, and I wouldn't stand a chance alone.

I grabbed her hand.

“Smart move,” Riven muttered. “Let’s go.”

Not even a second later, chaos broke out again. A chair scraped loudly across the floor. Someone screamed then bodies came charging at us. Other inmates, eyes wide and wild, were swinging fists or stabbing with whatever they could get their hands on. One had a rusted pipe. Another waved a fork like a weapon.

Riven pulled me forward hard. “They’

Lucy.“We need to leave. Right now! What are you even doing?” I barked at Riven, my voice was filled with panic. I grabbed her arm, trying to pull her with me, but she stood rooted to the spot. Her attention was still locked on the crowd, the inmates, shouting and chanting so loudly it felt like the building itself was trembling.Riven shook her head, eyes defiant. “You’re not thinking clearly, Lucy. This is our opportunity. If people are being let out, if this many are shouting back it means someone’s paying attention. We have to be part of it. Push harder. That’s how we get out. Running now is suicide.”“No!” I cut in, stepping directly in front of her and gripping her shoulders. “Riven, you’re not hearing me. This isn’t what it seems. It’s staged. Thorne is at the front of it, Riven. You know he’s with the officers. He’s never cared about freedom. He’s leading us like cattle into a trap.”Behind her, a few of the women scoffed. One rolled her eyes. “You’re just paranoid.”“Or terri

LucyThe door slammed shut behind me with a familiar clang. I barely flinched anymore. After how long weeks, probably? I wasn’t sure. Time had melted into a dull haze. What hadn’t dulled was the sharp sting of betrayal lodged in my chest, relentless and raw like an old scar torn open.Thorne.I stood in the middle of the small cell, staring at the fractured concrete wall where a long, uneven crack cut downward like a scar the building itself couldn’t hide. My fists clenched at my sides. I had given him my trust. I believed in him. We’d spent countless hours mapping out our escape, dreaming of freedom beyond these walls. Hell, I even planned to promote him in the pack after we got out. And now?Now I knew he’d been feeding information to the pack officers behind my back.He was going to betray me. Sell me out.“I’m not sticking around to get collared,” I muttered under my breath as I paced the floor. “I’ve got no excuse good enough for my kids if I die in this place.”There wasn’t much

LucySomething wasn’t right with me.The moment I woke up, I could feel it, an ache deep in my bones, a feverish heat crawling over my skin, every muscle twitching uncontrollably. At first, I blamed it on sheer exhaustion. My body was still healing from the beating I took during that fight with Riven, and the guards had only worsened their treatment after the mess with Ellison. But by midday, the pain had escalated beyond anything I could ignore. It felt like fire had taken root in my spine, spreading out like molten metal across my back and wrapping around my ribs. I clung to the cold wall of my cell, breath coming in ragged gasps as I tried not to scream. My fingers shook violently as I gripped the bars. My skin—gods, it was glowing. A faint red pulse shimmered under the surface, like a furnace trying to break through my flesh.“Damn it,” I gasped.Of course. The full moon.I hadn’t gone through a proper shift since I’d been locked in this hellhole, and now the moon’s pull was clawi

Alpha Ellison.I had lost track of how many times I had stood at these gates. Every time, the same guards told me the same thing with blank expressions.“No visitors allowed. Orders from above.”I had tried everything, talking to them, offering money, even threats but nothing worked. I couldn’t even catch a glimpse of her. Every day they kept her inside, my wolf became more restless, growling inside my head. But today, I wasn’t leaving without her.I looked back and gave a small nod to the warriors behind me. They were my strongest, handpicked from all over my lands. Just one look, and they knew what to do.When a guard stepped up to block us again, one of my men struck first, hitting him right in the throat. The guard fell, choking for air. Another warrior took the weapon from a second guard, and a third smashed the metal door open with one powerful hit.Screams echoed through the prison yard.“Stand down!” one of the officers shouted, clearly panicked. They weren’t ready for this.T

Lucy.My breath snagged in my chest. There they were plastered across the walls, scattered over lunch trays, passed around like sick collectibles. Images. My images.A shriek of laughter sliced through the thick tension in the air. I whipped my head around. Riven.I didn’t register moving. One second, I was rooted to the spot, heart hammering in my ears. The next, I was across the room. My fingers tangled in her hair, jerking her back with such force she let out a scream that bounced off every wall.“You think this is a joke?” I growled, slamming her head onto the table’s edge. “You think you’re the only one allowed to lose it?”The cafeteria erupted into chaos.Riven shrieked, flailing, kicking, clawing but all I could see was red. Blistering, blinding red. I dragged her down and threw punches hard, fast, vicious. My fists found skin, cartilage, anything that dared exist between her and my fury. The others scattered, stepping back fast, some too terrified to interfere, others mutteri
