Chapter Four

XIENNE

I went to the dirty sink of the house. There are no left things here. I saw gallons of water at the bottom of the sink. It's good so that I can wash my hands later.

I heard the door slowly open. A smile flashed on my lips.

"Joshua?" said Samantha.

I slowly uncovered my head by lowering the hood of the jacket then faced her. There was a look of shock on her face, she did not expect to see me.

"Surprise, bitch."

My two hands are inside the pocket of the hoodie jacket. I am holding the knife inside. I gave her a demonic smile.

“What are you doing here? Are you alone?” she asked.

“Have you seen anyone else here besides me? No one, right? I'm just alone. Stupid.”

His eyes narrowed. She crossed her arms. "I am expecting someone here."

She stood up like she is a powerful woman. I wanted to laugh at her face but I do not want to embarass her. She might lost her confidence if i would to that. I am not that bad.

I laughed. “So? You really are a fool, Samantha. ”

She stared at me intensely then slowly walked closer to me.

You are the one approaching your death, Dear Samie.

She kept her composure and did not brek her stares at me. She is too brave to look at me like that. She doesn’t know that she is approaching her own death.

"You know what? I don’t know where your courage is coming from now, Xienne. Why? What can you do?”

I can kill you.

I crossed my arms like her. Stood straight and looked intently at her eyes, mocking her more because of her stupidity.

“For your information, the Joshua that you know is not really existing. You see? I just made up the Joshua that is texting you,” I spilled.

For the second time, I saw the shock on her face. "You mean, all this time, you're the one texting me?"

"Nothing else but me."

There is no other noise here, it is just me and Samantha talking. No one can heard us. No one can hear how will Samantha shout for help. No one will know that someone’s life will be taken tonight.

She shook her head, not knowing what to say. "But why?"

I approached her. Just two steps and I can reach her already. "What do you think, Sam?"

“I don't know, I don't know. Can you just say why? Why you asked me to go here?”

I let out a deep breath and a chuckle. I love seeing the confusion on her face.

"Because I want you to meet Beatrice."

She was even more surprised by my answer. “But Beatrice is dead. She’s gone. Fucking shit, Xienne! What do you mean? How can I see Beatrice if she is already dead?”

“Through death, Samantha. You’ll see her in hell because I will kill you! ” I shouted.

I saw shock and fear in her eyes. She can not move anymore.

Without thinking twice, I pulled out the knife I had been holding and stabbed her in the throat. She vomited blood. The masculinity of her eyes was still there.

I was still not satisfied, I stabbed her in the mouth. I repeatedly stabbed her in the mouth with a knife.

That’s what your mouth deserves! How long I have endured the words you say that are all nonsense.

I was so nervous, I was stabbing her everywhere. Her face could no longer be recognized.

When I was satisfied, I immediately went to the sink to clean up the blood spilled on my face. Ignore the blood clinging to my jacket and pants because they are both black so it won’t be notice.

But to be sure, I took off my jacket and left the red T-shirt. I immediately wrapped my cleaned knife in the jacket before putting it in the bag. I even checked my entirety to see if there was really any blood left.

I peeked out the window to see if anyone was hanging out or passing by. Without seeing anything I quickly got out and walked again to the ministop.

I can't catch my breath. I was so nervous about what I did. I wondered if I would continue with my plans because I already had a guilty conscience. I do not want to be imprisoned, por dios por santo!

I immediately sat down in a chair outside the ministop. I put my elbows on the table then covered my face with my hands.

I'm crying! I waited for my breathing to adjust before raising my gaze again.

I was so shocked to see who was sitting in front of me.

"What happened to you?" he asked.

He was the man who talked to me when I went to the back of the University. He was also the one who bumped into me the other day causing me to throw away the food I was carrying.

“Nothing and you don't care.”

“Okay. Anyway, I’m Nikolai, you are?”

“None of your business.” I stood up.

“Okay, Miss none of your business.” He let out a laugh. “Remember what I’ve said before?”

I faced him and raised my left eyebrow. “What?”

“I am watching you. I can see you.”

Beat.

Does he know my secret?

I can not move. He was staring me intently. “What’s with the frightened face, Miss Xienne?”

I can't say thing. “H-how did you know my name?" I asked.

He laughed. “It is on your name plate,” he answered while pointing his finger on my chest with a name plate on it.

I forgot. “Ugh, yeah.”

”Do you want something to drink? Juice or anything you’d like.”

Without thinking twice, I answered. “Water will do.”

I no longer have time to refuse his offer. I need water. He stood up and entered the ministop grocery. I was watching him from outside. The glass wall really helped me to see what he was doing.

He’s picking a chips. He glanced at me then smiled. There was something on him I shouldn't trust. It’s like he is giving me a creppy feeling.

I looked away, never minding him.
