Meredith

His name rolled off my tongue in a savoury way. At the same time, it brought shivers down my spine.

He was a cold killer, yet he had shown me kindness. My ringtone snapped me out of my thoughts. I was surprised that my phone was still with me. I looked at my desk and saw my bag that had me lost when I was kidnapped. The little cash I had and my phone were still intact.

"How did these get here?" I asked myself, checking over my shoulder, if anyone was here. I was the only one in the room. The ringtone buzzed, snapping me out of my fear. It was Mom.

I groaned, realising just how much she might be worried. I quickly answered the phone.

"Hey Mom!"

"You ran off to a new country without notice, and now you won't pick up my calls? Sending lame messages that you are fine?"
