31. Arthur’s Realisation

I didn't know it then but my bride did not plan on attending our wedding.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Our wedding was like an appointment that she stood up.

As per our wedding rehearsal, the bridal procession arrived at the altar before Victory did. Everyone was asked to wait for one minute before the bride would walk in, so that we would be immersed in the beautiful song that was chosen as our wedding march. 

As the tunes played, my eyes roamed to survey the beautiful hall that we were going to be married in. Impressively tall arches, marble columns, nave ceiling and colourful lights streaming from stained arched windows greeted me.

Wearing a custom dark grey Armani suit, I stood erect in front of everyone who is important to me and my family. My chest puffed and pride gleamed from my eyes, knowing that in an hour, I will leave this cathedral with my wife in tow.

If only I knew.
