Kayla’s POV

That stupid fucking smirk.

The smug little smirk Augustine had sent me still clung to my nerves like a thorn as he marched up the steps to the stage.

His robes trailed behind him, every deliberate step echoing through the chamber.

Smug bastard

“Recess is over,” he declared loudly, his voice booming across the court. “The session must continue. Everyone, return to your seats.”

The hum of murmurs rippled through the council chamber as the noblemen and council members filed back in, their hushed conversations sharper than knives. I could catch fragments—my name, Adrian’s, words of my eligibility as Luna and about the possibility of the child of prophecy. I swallowed hard, hands twisting together in my lap.

These people are the ones who hold my fate in their hands, I thought bitterly.

One wrong word, one wrong slip, and they could destroy everything. Yet… for once, not every whisper sounded hostile. A few glanced at me with something almost like sympathy, maybe even respect,

Note. This is a world where Alphas are highly rare but powerful billionaires.Ivonne POV.“I'm very sorry to disturb you Alpha Lincoln sir, but we just rushed the Luna to the hospital right now.” I heard our chief maid—Lora tell my husband on the phone. She thought I was sleeping, but her speaker was loud and I could hear everything they were saying.“Is she dead?” I heard Lincoln ask, as a woman’s voice giggled in his background. My maid gasped in horror. “No Sir! Why would you say—““Then why the hell are you calling me?!” Lincoln snapped back angrily and the woman in the background laughed louder. I knew that woman’s voice. It was Alison, my husband’s fated mate. The one he was sleeping with.“I don't have time for that useless woman's games, and I'm not interested in anything that has to do with her, but if she dies, please let me know, so I can finally celebrate my freedom. Good bye!” Lincoln snapped before rudely cutting the call.I pretended to wake up and turned to Lora. “Was

---Kayla – First Person POVI had never thought naming a child would feel this heavy. When I held my baby in my arms, swaddled and soft, the weight of the world seemed to press harder against my chest. Her eyes—those golden flecks hidden deep in the gray—felt like secrets staring back at me. She was more than a baby. I knew it. Everyone in the room knew it.But to me… she was just mine. My little girl.Adrian had been pacing the entire morning, more nervous than me, if that was even possible. His hands rubbed together, his jaw clenched, his gaze darting to me every five seconds as though he expected me to break.“Kayla,” he said carefully, his voice hushed but serious, “the council will demand her name be registered. We have to decide today.”“I know,” I whispered, brushing my thumb against my baby’s tiny cheek. She made a soft noise, a sigh more than a cry, and I melted. “But I don’t want them to define her by their prophecy. I don’t want them to take her away from me.”Adrian crouc

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Kaylas miracle

Kayla – First Person POVIt had been six months since the wedding. Six months since the whirlwind of the honeymoon and the endless flood of responsibilities that came after. Six months since I found myself trying to grow into the title of Luna—a role I hadn’t even been officially crowned into yet.And today, of all days, was the coronation.I sat at my desk in our chambers, my swollen belly brushing the edge of the polished wood as I tried to finish one last set of papers. My hand moved carefully over the ink, but my back ached, my ankles were puffed, and my little girl was kicking so hard that I swore she wanted out today. The door creaked open, and Adrian’s voice filled the room. “Kayla.” His tone was half amused, half exasperated. “Please tell me you’re not working again.”I didn’t look up immediately, scribbling a signature before setting the quill down. “I’m just finishing this report for the eastern border. The new patrol routes need my approval.”“You’re about to be crowned Lun

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    D-day

Kayla's POVI could barely sleep last night. My stomach was tied in knots, equal parts excitement and nerves. I kept turning over the fact that Adrian had once told me, in his usual impatient way, that we’d marry in a week. But of course, he couldn’t even wait that long. He and his mother moved the date up—five days instead of seven. And now, today, here I was, waking up as the bride.“Kayla! Wake up, wake up!” Candice’s voice rang out before I even opened my eyes.I groaned, rolling onto my side. “Please tell me it’s not morning already.”“It’s not just morning, it’s your wedding morning!” Ingrid’s excited squeal followed. The two of them burst into my room, faces glowing with excitement like this was their wedding.I sat up slowly, heart pounding. “Oh, goddess,” I whispered, pressing a hand to my chest. “Today’s really the day.”Candice rushed over, practically bouncing onto the bed. “Yes! And you’re going to look perfect, and everything’s going to be perfect. Adrian’s probably alre

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Joy

Kayla's POVI woke up to the sound of soft breathing beside me. For a moment, I didn’t move.My view was too fucking perfect to look away from. I just lay there, staring at Adrian. The morning light spilled in from the curtains, landing perfectly on his face. His lashes were dark against his skin, his mouth relaxed in the kind of peace I rarely saw in him.It still amazed me sometimes that this was real—that after everything, he was here, next to me.A lump rose in my throat as I thought of everything we’d gone through, the enemies circling us, the constant threats, the mistakes that nearly tore us apart. And yet, here we were.I’d do it all again if it meant keeping the people I love safe.“Good morning darling,” Adrian’s deep voice broke my thoughts. His eyes cracked open, and he smiled at me in that way that always made my chest tighten.“i love when you stare at me,” he teased, voice husky from sleep.I flushed, caught. “I wasn't staring.. I was just…thinking.”“About how lucky y

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Relief

Kayla’s POVThe moment Rogans dagger slipped from my hand and clattered to the floor, I felt my knees buckle—but before I could even fall, Adrian was already there. His arms wrapped around me so tightly I almost couldn’t breathe.“Kayla!” His voice was raw, panicked. His hands moved frantically over my body, searching. “Gods—are you okay? Tell me you’re okay!”I let out a shaky laugh, even though my chest was still heaving. “Adrian, I should be the one asking you that. You look like you were about to faint.”He pulled back just enough to look at me, his eyes dark with fear. Then he froze, his gaze dropping to my stomach. His expression shifted to pure shock.“There’s no blood,” he whispered, almost like he couldn’t believe it. He pressed his hand lightly against my waist. “Kayla… you were stabbed. I saw it. How—how are you standing?”I smiled softly, trying to reassure him. “My mother taught me some things. Old… methods. Things I didn’t even know I’d need one day.”His brows furrowed.
