After Andretti dropped Lucia off, first thing she noticed was the police barrier tape, she got in and first thing she did was to grab her phone, she checked it, missed calls from an unknown number, it must have been the police she thought. That was the first thing on her list she needs to do, go to the police to claim her father's body.

She got to the police station at exactly 12pm, she got through the formalities and she was told that the burial would be conducted by the state because of his long and exceptional years of service.

"What an irony" she thought, he was killed because of his dirty deals. They asked her some questions and she told them exactly what she had told Andretti the investigating team had assured her that her father's killer would be found, either the police catches them or Andretti find themselves she would be fine with any outcome.

She decided to check through her father's belongings maybe she could find more information about his friends or family members that would like to attend the burial, there were a lot of things to go through, as she searched she found an old photo album, the only pictures there were that of when her father and her mother first got married and that was it, she wondered where they never remarried.

She fell asleep at some point while going through her father's things she woke up, when she checked her phone it was already 8pm, she went downstairs to make herself something to eat, while she ate she decided to get some work she is a data analyst and she had backlog of work she was supposed to get done.

It was around 10:30pm she first heard the noise, she paused and listened, the noise stopped,

"It's s probably a raccoon ", she said.

The noise came back around 10:45pm this time it was a loud bang, she jumped with a start, she heard the front door open, she ran out of the kitchen to a check what it was, she was getting close to the door when she saw the men coming in, she didn't wait to see how many they were or what they wanted. She ran back into the kitchen, grabbed her phone and ran upstairs to her room and locked the door.

The men that killed her father were back, she could hear their footsteps coming up the stairs, she ran into the wardrobe she had hid herself in before. The men came directly to her door and started banging, they had come for her. She remembered that Andretti had given her his card, she opened the wardrobe door into her room to search for the card. She found it and dialed his number immediately, it rang once before he picked,

"Andretti, help me", she cried into the phone.

"LUCIA?", he asked.

The banging on the door for louder and the door broke open.

"Help me, And...", just as she spoke those words the wardrobe door sprung open, and one.of the men dragged her out, grabbed her phone and threw it against the wall.

She screamed at the top of her lungs, then another of the men gagged her and blindfolded her, tied her hands as she was held down, she tried really hard to fight back but they were just too strong, gagged she could only voice out muffled sounds, she struggled so much they had to bound her to a chair.

'" I can't believe we didn't see this bitch earlier", one of them said.

" Let's just end her and get out of here", another replied.

"Rollo asked us to question the bitch, we have to give him his answers".

She could tell from their voices they were three men," so this is the end for me, maybe I should have called the police and not Andretti" she thought. Thoughts of the things she had always wanted to do flashed through her head, for the first time in years she prayed, he prayed that her life be spared, just then one of the men removed the gag from her mouth.

"If you scream, I will blow your head off..do you feel that?".

She could feel the cold muzzle of a gun as it pressed against her head, "yes" her voice shaking.

"Who did you tell about us", they asked.

"Please, I don't understand what you mean", she cried.

"We got information from our little birdie that you were present the last time we paid you a visit, who did you tell about us?".

"Nobody, I swear!, I didn't see anybody! ", she shouted.

Just then she felt something heavy hit the side of her head, she cried out in pain, the warm trickle of blood running down her cheeks "please!!!" She cried, her voice cracked.

"If you lie to us one more time, I'm going to kill you, that was just a warning... Who the fuck did you tell about us?!". The voice speaking grew louder, she could taste the annoyance in his voice

"Andretti!, he found me here and I told him what happened but I swear I didn't see your faces, I promise", she cried.

"Please just let me go, please I won't tell anyone else", she screamed.

The men whispered among themselves, of course they knew who Andretti was and they knew this was information their boss would be happy to hear.

"Please, I beg you! You already killed my father just let me go!", she cried, maybe she should just have stayed in Brooklyn, her life was easier, simpler there.

"Let's just end this bitch", one of the men said

She went silent, there was no use crying, these people had no sympathy for her, she had already accepted her fate when she heard the noise.

The men heard it too, "hey, go check out what's going on".

The man they sent went downstairs but didn't return, the two remaining started fidgeting, "is it the police?", one of the asked the other.

"How the fuck would I know?, go check it out".

"No way, let me stay here with her".

The men started arguing amongst themselves, they were more interested in leaving there alive than killing her, just then the sound of gunshots echoed, it sounded so loud she thought she was hit, she fell to the ground still bound to the chair.

The sound of blows and punches and men grunting filled her ears, still blindfolded she didn't know what was happening.

"All clear boss", a new voice said.

"are you okay?", she heard someone ask as she felt his hands freeing the ropes binding her to the chair and the one around her hands. The voice sounded familiar.

Finally, she was freed, the same hands got to her face and removed the blindfold, she saw him...Andretti, her savior.

Two hours after she called him, he came back to the house. "Dr Roberto is close by", he said as he walked up to her. He seemed genuinely worried about her. "It's probably fever", she said, trying to make him less anxious. As they sat in the room, waiting for the doctor, the atmosphere in the room is thick with tension. The quiet ticking of the clock on the wall seems louder, each second stretching out endlessly. Lucia sat on the bedside couch, her legs curled beneath her, her hand resting on her abdomen. The usually plush cushions feel stiff beneath her as if they too are tense with anticipation. She shifted occasionally, unable to find comfort, her face pale, a slight sheen of sweat on her brow.Andretti stood near the window, peering out into the street, his fingers tapping nervously against the glass. The usually calming sound of birds chirping outside goes unnoticed as his mind races. The room felt cold with worry. Every creak of the house settling seems amplified, each sound

It had been days since Andretti's grandfather's birthday, Lucia sat at the kitchen table, staring at her half-eaten breakfast. The smell of toast and coffee, usually so comforting, now made her stomach turn. She pushed the plate away, pressing her fingers to her temples as a dull headache pulsed behind her eyes. Lately, everything had felt off—small waves of nausea in the mornings, a strange fatigue she couldn’t shake, and an odd sense of queasiness at the smell of certain foods. Her hand drifted absentmindedly to her abdomen as she tried to make sense of it. She’d been feeling this way for days, but today it felt more intense. The queasiness hit again, stronger this time, and she quickly stood up, but the sudden motion left her dizzy. She clutched the back of her chair for balance, feeling lightheaded, her heart pounding softly in her chest. Lucia sank back down, eyes wide with a dawning realization. Her period—she hadn’t even thought about it, but now it seemed so obvious. How lon

He knows exactly how to get under my skin.” Lucia answered softly, “He was cruel. What he said… I can’t imagine how many times you’ve heard things like that from him.”“More times than I can count. Are you sure he’s not disappointed?” Andretti laughing softly said “That’s him being impressed, trust me. If he didn’t like you, he would’ve made some offhand comment about your shoes or your posture. The fact that he asked about the non existent child was a good sign.” Lucia grinning.“Well, I’ll take that as a win, then. I was sure my hands were shaking the whole time, but seriously what are we go to do about the child?” Andretti answered, “ I still have no idea, you did a really good job though i don't think he suspects anything .” Just as they reach the end of the hallway, the sound of a door opening behind them makes Andretti stop abruptly.
