Chapter Seventy Eight-Reconciliation

Vanessa's point of view

The light was blindingly bright and annoying. They should tell the hospital team to work better and build better lights so someone wouldn't wake up and then think she had gone to heaven.

The beeping sound of the machine attached to me annoyed me but I let it be, I was still a little bit detached from reality and I did not want to do anything I would regret later on.

A figure was seated on the chair by the side, head bent so I couldn't figure out who she was on time. It was Victoria though.

"Victoria," I tried to call out, my voice felt scratchy and hoarse from lack of use.

She didn't stir so I figured out she was asleep. I did not know how long she had been with me so I allowed her to sleep.

I drifted off to sleep few minutes later.

I woke up two times after. The second time no one was with me and I was groggily anxious, I almost ripped the needles they had attached to me. Luckily a doctor walked into the room at that exact time and was able to sedate me.
