The family returned to the mansion to have a sumptuous dinner. Aunt Maya, Zachary, and Sam were also present.

Mr Kord's anger was visible on his face and he had his dinner in silence, including Elliot and Selene. While Mrs Kord was all over her daughter in law and unborn child, Sam and Ian could not stop exchanging glances across the table.

Sam's happiness was cut short by the arrival of Amelia who sulked at being left out of the celebration, while taking her place on Ian's legs.

"Can you believe this?!" exclaimed Mrs Kord, "I'm about to become a grandmother! Come, Amelia join us!"

"Congratulations, ma'am" Amelia smiled and added "Since you'll be organizing a baby shower for Karen, wouldn't it be great to also hold my wedding with Ian here?"

Silence ensued but Amelia continued,

"Besides, it's a double celebration and it would work well for my social status." turning to Selene she asked, "Don't you think so, Selene?"

    The entire family lapsed into silence. No one ever expected that Zachary would take such a step. Asides from Aunt Maya and Kevin, the rest were surprised to know that Zachary has always been in love with Karen. Kevin walks up to Aunt Maya and places a hand on her shoulder as she weeps. He whispers, "I'm so sorry, Aunt." Everyone tried to console Aunt Maya but she did not stop crying. No one could ever understand her pain.
