Prisley was too preoccupied comforting the crying little girl to notice Heath had walked up beside them.

When the little girl, tears still in her eyes, stared intently in one direction and smiled, Prisley turned her head to find Heath standing behind them.

Heath softly greeted, "Hi, Petty, we meet again." He crouched down, meeting the little girl's eyes at her level.

"Is this your daughter? What's her name?"

Before Prisley could answer, the little girl chirped in a tiny voice, "My name’s Lucy, and I'm two years old."

She gave Heath a sweet smile. Her light blue eyes, in particular, were exactly like his own. When she smiled, her eyes sparkled like midnight stars.

"My name is Heath, and I'm your mommy's friend." Heath tried to soften his voice, speaking carefully to the girl.

Prisley watched Heath silently, not interjecting, seemingly wishing to avoid further entanglement with him.

Heath sensed her coolness and shifted his attention back to the little girl.

"Mark—!" Prisley left the table and ran towards him.Mark opened his arms and pulled her into a tight embrace."My God, you're finally back. This isn't a dream, is it?"Mark murmured, filled with both shock and joy. He released Prisley, leaned back slightly, then earnestly looked her up and down, unable to get enough of seeing her.Still the woman in his heart: beautiful, intelligent. He pulled her into a tight embrace again."Don't you ever leave again, never again... These past two years, you broke my heart..." As he spoke, his voice grew thick with emotion.Prisley smiled, reaching out to pinch his cheek. "Stop it. Aren't I perfectly fine now? I'm right here. And I'm never leaving again."Mark walked over to Spencer and forcefully punched his shoulder. "Why didn't you tell me beforehand?"Spencer chuckled, "So you could experience a heart-stopping shock. She did the same to me just now."He glanced at Prisley. "The moment I walked into Heath's room and saw her, my heart nearly stop

Prisley's heart hammered in her chest. She struggled to control her expression, allowing only a faint smile to grace her lips, but her gaze was fixed on the person, scrutinizing..."Prisley, you're here too? This is wonderful!"The moment he spoke, tears streamed down Prisley's face. She stretched out her arms and walked towards him. "Spencer, you finally remember me..."Spencer took her in his arms, looking down at her, laughing and crying against his chest. After a good while, Heath's dry cough interrupted their intimate moment.Spencer then remembered the purpose of his visit. He turned to Heath."Heath, are you feeling better? I was on a business trip these past few days and only rushed back late last night."Prisley looked from Spencer to Heath, surprised. Heath merely nodded, saying nothing.Spencer explained, "After you disappeared, Heath insisted on coming to the hospital to see me regularly. At that time, my memory hadn't made much progress either."Prisley gazed intently at

Prisley's lips met Heath's cheek, a fleeting touch, then she pulled away.Heath managed a difficult smile, his voice weak. "That didn't seem to help much? Just that one."Prisley felt a mix of shame and annoyance. "What exactly do you want?" Her voice rose."If you're unwilling, of course I can't force you. But I... really am in pain."In all the years they had been together, Prisley had never truly seen Heath so vulnerable and sickly. For a moment, her heart softened."Alright, one more try. But this is the last time." She leaned down again, gently pressing her lips to Heath's pale, thin ones. His lips were soft, yet a little cool. As Prisley's lips rested against his, he gently responded. The nearby heart monitor began to beep frantically.Prisley's heart leaped. She quickly pulled back, her heartbeat matching the monitor's rapid pace, her face flushing crimson."You should... just take the anesthetic. I'm worried this might not be good for your heart."Finally, Heath's lips curved

Prisley's foot twisted, and she stumbled to the ground, watching helplessly as the car hurtled towards her daughter. In that instant, all she could do was scream a gut-wrenching cry. She was powerless. The car barreled forward, seemingly hitting several people. Pedestrians around them shrieked and scattered.Prisley ignored the pain, scrambling to her feet, shedding her high heels, and sprinting towards her daughter. Her mind was a complete blank. The rogue vehicle crashed into a flower bed, finally grinding to a halt.Several pedestrians rushed forward, dragged the driver out, and pinned him to the ground. Prisley paid no mind to any of this; she ran straight for her daughter. The sight of that little red dress peeking out from under the car's wheel ruthlessly clutched at her heart. When she reached her daughter, she saw Lucy held tightly by Heath, shielded beneath him, seemingly unharmed.Looking at Heath, he lay prone, protecting Lucy, with blood slowly spreading beneath him.One o

Lucy joyfully rushed into Prisley's arms. Holding her daughter, Prisley scolded, "Why did you come out with a stranger? What have I taught you?""Heath isn't a stranger! He's my best friend, and Grandpa agreed!"Prisley looked a little annoyed, her face stern."Well, Mr. Rynn, I'm surprised. While discussing a project with me, you're also going behind my back to visit my family. Your efficiency is truly remarkable."Heath offered a slight smile. "But I haven't done anything improper, have I? Everything was within reasonable and permitted bounds, wasn't it?"Lucy sensed her mother's displeasure and hugged her neck, whispering, "Mommy, I like him. I want to play with him every day."Prisley's heart gave a faint pang. She had lost her own father in her youth, so she could understand a child like Lucy's longing for a father. What's more, she had seen from afar how genuinely Heath had been playing with Lucy. Yet, deep down, she was still unwilling to easily let him off the hook. Why was it

Prisley was in her office, conducting a video conference, when her secretary announced that a Mr. Rynn was visiting. She didn't pay close attention, merely gesturing for him to enter. When Heath appeared before her, she froze for a split second, then quickly refocused on the video conference, gesturing for him to wait aside.Heath wore a crisp, custom-tailored suit, as impeccably handsome as he was two years ago, impossible to look away from.Only now, his gaze held more composure, and a touch of melancholy. He walked closer step by step, settling into a chair across her desk.He watched Prisley's video conference with an air of calm. The video conference was drawing to a close. Prisley quickly made the final arrangements and ended the meeting. When she turned, Heath's gaze rested on her face for a long time, unwavering. Prisley's heart gave a leap, and her breathing grew shallow."Is there something I can help you with, Mr. Rynn?" She tried to maintain her pretense of not knowing him
