I opened my mouth to scream my lungs but but then stopped at the very first squeak when I saw it was Adrian.

With my eyes wide, and heart still thumping wildly in shock, I ran to the bedroom door to lock it from inside.

“Surprise!” he grinned, standing up on his feet.

“Shock!” I said breathlessly, “please give a small knock on the window when you come in next time. I don’t want to have heart problems in my twenties.”

“Oh, so your heart beats fast when you see me?” he smirked, getting closer.
