Early the next day, Lauren woke up, hoping to do something better with her time, she had been sulking and crying all through the night, she hope for a better day, that wouldn't have anything to do with Lucious. And somehow, she have her day figured out. She would give him his medication as usual, make the meal since he has asked aunt Michelle to stop again, wanting her to do all the chores in the house. Then she would read books, to keep her brain alive, until they decide to pay her fees, after all, it was part of what they promised her.

She got up and looked herself in the mirror, but all she could see was Lucious behind her, holding her close, just like he did, the other night.

She wants to hate him so much, but she doesn't know what reason to give herself, she still blames herself for what happened, and since he has made it clear that it was a mistake, it is best she forgets him.
