Lia’s POV
The knock at the door wasn't loud… it was quiet, deliberate. But it also may have been a thunderclap for drifting me off from my thoughts.
I hadn’t slept all night, couldn't. The walls were too tight, and that camera with its blinking eye…it never stopped watching me. I hated it, but I hated him even more.
The door creaked open, and a tall, mean-faced man was standing right in front of me in an instant. “The boss wants to see you. Follow me.” That was all he said, like I was just an object waiting to be summoned by its owner.
I didn’t answer him, I just stood up, following him down the hallway without a word. Passing polished floors and guards who stared straight ahead like statues.
The doors opened with a heavy groan and there he was. Kade Valen. Shirtless, barefoot, and completely unbothered…like he didn’t just destroy my life and now locked me in a cage.
“Morning, little princess,” he hissed. Standing before the punching bag like it owed him something, each strike landed with brutal precision….raw, controlled power rippled through his arms and down his back.
He looked up at me, that smug wicked smirk from last night already in his eyes. “Rest well in your luxury suite?” He spoke, grabbing a towel and dragging it slowly down the side of his neck.
I said nothing, my lips pressed into a thin line, hands folded at my sides. He smiled, turning back to the punching bag and throwing another punch, his knuckles cracking against the leather like a gunshot.
“Oh right,” he continued, “I forgot you’re still in that sulking phase from last night,” throwing another punch. “It’s cute though. But you have no other option than to cheer up, little princess.”
I stared right at him, every bone in my body screaming at me to slap him across the face. Fucking jerk. But then he turned again, this time walking towards me with a slow, predatory step.
“You look tense, Lia,” he said, stopping just a breath away. I could smell his sweat, the faint trace of cologne, something dark and masculine about it. “You should try stretching. Maybe do some squats. I want you to look sexy for daddy.”
“Or…” he leaned down, his breath brushing against my ear. “Or we can do some other type of workout. Like the one we almost did last night.” My stomach twisted, anger rising in my chest. I wanted to punch him, to scream. But God help me…some stupid part of me wanted to feel his hands on me again.
The way his touch burned and left me craving for him. It disgusted me. I was disgusted with myself. He pulled back just enough to meet my eyes, the expression on his face nothing but pure mockery.
“You know, the way you’re looking at me right now? He moved closer. “It’s almost as if you like what you’re seeing.” My chest is rising and falling in heavy gasps, anger surging through me like a heavy storm.
“But don’t worry. I get it. It’s confusing when your body wants something else but your mouth keeps lying about it.” That was it, I was done putting up with his fucking bullshit. Something in me broke and before I could even realize what the hell I was doing, I turned.
Grabbing a glass from the table behind me, and with every ounce of rage and humiliation I had swallowed since last night…I hurled it at him. It flew fast, but Kade moved faster.
The glass shattered against the wall behind him, and shreds of it scattered across the floor. The sound echoed like a gunshot. For one long second, neither of us moved.
But the next thing I knew, he was in front of me in the blink of an eye, slamming a hand against the wall beside my head and pinning me to it, his body towering over mine just inches away.
Nothing was gentle or calm about his eyes anymore…they were cold, burning like the edge of a flame held just under my skin. “Don’t you ever mistake my mercy for weakness,” he growled, nothing funny about the tone of his voice.
“You and your fucking brother are alive because I allow it. You breathe because I say so.” A chill crept down my spine, sweat falling down my face. My lips parted slightly to say something, but he was too close…his scent, sweat, and power wrapped around me like smoke.
His muscled bare chest hovered around mine, the warmth of his skin threatening to melt whatever pretense I had been letting myself believe.
“You want to break things, little princess?” He whispered, his voice coiling around me like a noose. “Next time, I’ll let you clean the blood off the floor yourself, and trust me. It will be your blood.”
His eyes dropped down, lingering on my lips with a hunger so raw I could feel it just by staring at him. My knees weakened, I should have pushed him, or rather, spat in his face.
But I didn’t move. Because something in me wanted him to close the little space between us so badly. To press me harder against the wall and finish what he started last night.
No.
I couldn’t let myself even dare to feel anything for this monster. I clenched my fists behind me, my nails into my skin to ground myself from melting into him…to fight this sick, shameful pull his presence lit inside me.
He moved his head slightly, his eyes still locked on my lips, watching me like a predator teasing the line between torment and desire. My heart pounded too fast, and he noticed. Of course he had to notice.
“You’re under my roof now, “ he whispered, leaning closer, his lips almost meeting mine but just inches apart. And yet…I was shaking for reasons I didn’t want to understand.
“It’s either you be a good girl and obey me, little princess,” he murmured. Or you will suffer for it. There are no options.” Then he stepped back, acting as if nothing had happened.
I stood still, my pulse thundering in my ears, his words still burning on my skin. But before I could recover from it, the door opened with a sharp click.
A strange woman walking in like she owned every fucking thing in this building, even Kade himself. She was stunning, ridiculously so. Tall and curvy with flawless skin and dark eyes that sparkled like venom.
“Well,” she drawled, her heels clicking across the floor like weapons, and the moment her eyes landed on me…it turned to poison. “Who the hell is this Kade?” She asked, turning to face Kade.
Ignoring me like I was nothing but a ghost. “Another one of your toys?”
Heaven help me….
What the hell did she just mean by his toy?
Kade’s POVThe ballroom shines under the lights of the golden chandeliers, the sound of clinking glasses and laughter filled the air as cameras flashed from every corner, journalists whispering different things to themselves, socialites draped in wealth and power.Engagement party of the year, they called it—the perfect union between Kade Valen and Selene Blackwell. Two heirs of different dynasties. What a fucking joke.I stood there in a tailored suit with an empty smile plastered on my face as Selene tightened her grip on my arm as though she would vanish if she didn’t hold me. “Smile, darling,” she whispered in my ears, “You look like someone just died.”“Maybe something did.” I shot back, faking a smile for the media that didn’t quite reach my eyes. She giggled — high, sharp enough to get on my nerves and then she leaned in closer, her perfume wrapped around me like smoke. The reporters in front of us cheered for a picture, their camera flashes exploding in quick bursts of whit
Lia’s POVJulian’s touch had vanished. The warmth of his body on me that had been fire a second ago felt like nothing now. I blinked, trying to understand what had changed in him as his body grew tense; his chest rose and fell too fast.“Julian?” My voice came out quieter than it should have. “What’s wrong?”He didn’t say a word, he just turned away from me and ran a hand through his hair, muttering something under his breath I couldn’t catch. I sat up slowly, confusion clawing through me. “Did I… do something?”“Don’t,” he snapped, his voice low but sharp enough to cut through me.My breath caught. “Don’t what?”He turned back to face me, and the look in his eyes wasn't funny at all— a type of look that I had never seen in his eyes. This Julian was different—dark and distant.“You need to go,” he said as he forced himself away from me and started putting on his shirt and trousers again. “What?” The word tumbled out of me in disbelief.“Leave.”For a moment, I thought I misheard him.
Lia’s POVJulian didn’t waste time as he tore off my left underwear impatiently, just as soon as he said those words to me. After he had smelt it, he threw it to the side of the bed once satisfied.“Lia” he called out, getting more erect as he saw my exposed vagina as I just lay there watching him eat me up with his eyes. He kissed my pussy, making me moan with a louder pitch this time and I sat up again, filled with a tingling sensation but lay back on the bed.He kissed me again, making my toes curl as I wriggled on the bed. “F….fuck….” The shameless word left my mouth before I could stop it. I couldn’t take it anymore when he began sucking my pussy, it made me lose it as I moaned loudly now. I tried pushing his head away but he was weakened by the pleasure to do so.“You look so tight,” Julian growled as he finally stopped. I tried to close my legs but his hands were there to stop me as he parted them wider. I just lay there watching him as he was about to put his face between my l
Lia’s POVJulian leaned in and touched his lips with mine, not kissing me yet but caressing my lips with his, teasing me as I closed my eyes when he leaned in, ready for our lips to crash against each other. He sucked on my upper lip first, feeling how soft it was, before he enveloped both my lips now. “Mmmmn…” the shameless moan came out of my mouth before I could stop it, and Julian loved every bit of it.I didn’t return his kiss at first, just let him play with my lips as I enjoyed it. I didn’t feel his tongue yet in my mouth, I wanted that so badly so I grabbed onto his neck to kiss him back still with my eyes closed but he moved away from me a bit, making me long for those lips that just left mine.“Are you sure you really want me to do this, Lia?” Julian asked with his face a mix of confusion and pleasure.“Y…yes… just kiss me.” I managed to force the words out as I opened my eyes, he wasn’t in front of me, he was behind me now. He kissed my neck and I let out a soft moan again
Kade’s POVI’d poured myself another drink, though I’d stopped tasting anything hours ago because the whiskey burned but not enough to quiet what kept replaying in my head. The way her body pressed against mine when those shameless moans escaped her lips when she called out my name. I slammed the glass down on the counter, watching the amber liquid spill across it.“Enough,” I murmured more to myself than anyone. But my heart didn’t listen no matter how much I hated her for what she was doing to me. Yet, I hated myself more for still wanting her.I told myself it was over because at least I’d taught her a lesson by showing her that she belonged to me and no other man. But the image of her face when I’d stopped myself from fucking her—face—half fury, half something else—wouldn’t leave me alone.God….I didn’t hear the door open. But the scent of a familiar perfume filled my nose before I turned to know who it was.Selene.She stepped into my living room like she owned it with the sound
Lia’s POVThe elevator ride to Julian’s house felt longer this time. I wore red lipstick, a transparent silk blouse that showed more than it should have, and jeans that hugged tighter than usual. I told myself it was a casual meeting between us today, all I had to do was teach him and go home. But deep down I knew better that this wasn’t about art class today. It wasn’t even about Julian. It was about Kade — the one man I couldn’t seem to forget no matter how much I tried to. If I could make Julian want me, maybe I could finally forget the way Kade’s hands had owned every inch of my body last night. As the elevator doors opened, I exhaled a shaky breath through trembling lips especially as the air smelled faintly of wood and paint. Julian’s penthouse looked different tonight; the light bulbs were low, casting shadows across the room. Candles were set near the windows, their glow soft and intimate, and at the center of the studio stood a small dining table — two chairs, two glasses
