Lia’s POV

The knock at the door wasn't loud… it was quiet, deliberate. But it also may have been a thunderclap for drifting me off from my thoughts.

I hadn’t slept all night, couldn't. The walls were too tight, and that camera with its blinking eye…it never stopped watching me. I hated it, but I hated him even more.

The door creaked open, and a tall, mean-faced man was standing right in front of me in an instant. “The boss wants to see you. Follow me.” That was all he said, like I was just an object waiting to be summoned by its owner.

I didn’t answer him, I just stood up, following him down the hallway without a word. Passing polished floors and guards who stared straight ahead like statues.

The doors opened with a heavy groan and there he was. Kade Valen. Shirtless, barefoot, and completely unbothered…like he didn’t just destroy my life and now locked me in a cage.

“Morning, little princess,” he hissed. Standing before the punching bag like it owed him something, each strike landed with brutal precision….raw, controlled power rippled through his arms and down his back.

He looked up at me, that smug wicked smirk from last night already in his eyes. “Rest well in your luxury suite?” He spoke, grabbing a towel and dragging it slowly down the side of his neck.

I said nothing, my lips pressed into a thin line, hands folded at my sides. He smiled, turning back to the punching bag and throwing another punch, his knuckles cracking against the leather like a gunshot.

“Oh right,” he continued, “I forgot you’re still in that sulking phase from last night,” throwing another punch. “It’s cute though. But you have no other option than to cheer up, little princess.”

I stared right at him, every bone in my body screaming at me to slap him across the face. Fucking jerk. But then he turned again, this time walking towards me with a slow, predatory step.

“You look tense, Lia,” he said, stopping just a breath away. I could smell his sweat, the faint trace of cologne, something dark and masculine about it. “You should try stretching. Maybe do some squats. I want you to look sexy for daddy.”

“Or…” he leaned down, his breath brushing against my ear. “Or we can do some other type of workout. Like the one we almost did last night.” My stomach twisted, anger rising in my chest. I wanted to punch him, to scream. But God help me…some stupid part of me wanted to feel his hands on me again.

The way his touch burned and left me craving for him. It disgusted me. I was disgusted with myself. He pulled back just enough to meet my eyes, the expression on his face nothing but pure mockery.

“You know, the way you’re looking at me right now? He moved closer. “It’s almost as if you like what you’re seeing.” My chest is rising and falling in heavy gasps, anger surging through me like a heavy storm.

“But don’t worry. I get it. It’s confusing when your body wants something else but your mouth keeps lying about it.” That was it, I was done putting up with his fucking bullshit. Something in me broke and before I could even realize what the hell I was doing, I turned.

Grabbing a glass from the table behind me, and with every ounce of rage and humiliation I had swallowed since last night…I hurled it at him. It flew fast, but Kade moved faster.

The glass shattered against the wall behind him, and shreds of it scattered across the floor. The sound echoed like a gunshot. For one long second, neither of us moved.

But the next thing I knew, he was in front of me in the blink of an eye, slamming a hand against the wall beside my head and pinning me to it, his body towering over mine just inches away.

Nothing was gentle or calm about his eyes anymore…they were cold, burning like the edge of a flame held just under my skin. “Don’t you ever mistake my mercy for weakness,” he growled, nothing funny about the tone of his voice.

“You and your fucking brother are alive because I allow it. You breathe because I say so.”  A chill crept down my spine, sweat falling down my face. My lips parted slightly to say something, but he was too close…his scent, sweat, and power wrapped around me like smoke.

His muscled bare chest hovered around mine, the warmth of his skin threatening to melt whatever pretense I had been letting myself believe.

“You want to break things, little princess?” He whispered, his voice coiling around me like a noose. “Next time, I’ll let you clean the blood off the floor yourself, and trust me. It will be your blood.”

His eyes dropped down, lingering on my lips with a hunger so raw I could feel it just by staring at him. My knees weakened, I should have pushed him, or rather, spat in his face.

But I didn’t move. Because something in me wanted him to close the little space between us so badly. To press me harder against the wall and finish what he started last night.

No.

I couldn’t let myself even dare to feel anything for this monster. I clenched my fists behind me, my nails into my skin to ground myself from melting into him…to fight this sick, shameful pull his presence lit inside me.

He moved his head slightly, his eyes still locked on my lips, watching me like a predator teasing the line between torment and desire. My heart pounded too fast, and he noticed. Of course he had to notice.

“You’re under my roof now, “ he whispered, leaning closer, his lips almost meeting mine but just inches apart. And yet…I was shaking for reasons I didn’t want to understand.

“It’s either you be a good girl and obey me, little princess,” he murmured. Or you will suffer for it. There are no options.” Then he stepped back, acting as if nothing had happened.

I stood still, my pulse thundering in my ears, his words still burning on my skin. But before I could recover from it, the door opened with a sharp click.

A strange woman walking in like she owned every fucking thing in this building, even Kade himself. She was stunning, ridiculously so. Tall and curvy with flawless skin and dark eyes that sparkled like venom.

“Well,” she drawled, her heels clicking across the floor like weapons, and the moment her eyes landed on me…it turned to poison.  “Who the hell is this Kade?” She asked, turning to face Kade.

Ignoring me like I was nothing but a ghost. “Another one of your toys?”

Heaven help me….

What the hell did she just mean by his toy?

Kade’s POVThe moment I stepped into my penthouse, I could already feel her sitting there. The scent of her perfume suffocated as she sat on the velvet couch, her legs crossed majestically. She held the glass of red wine in her hands like she owned the world, “Where have you been Kade?” Her smile was slow and deliberate as she spoke, which dripped with nothing but fake concern. I shut the door behind me and locked it, my movements too calm and controlled—the kind that only comes before I snapped. She could feel it as I stepped closer, “Where’s the video?”Selene blinked once, the practiced kind of surprise that appeared on her face anytime she wanted to fake that stupid innocence. “Video?” she repeated, tilting her head, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”“Don’t play games with me,” I snapped. My voice is low, dangerous, “You know exactly what I’m talking about.”A bitter laughter tore out of her as she swirled her wine. “Kade, you’re scaring me. Why would you think I’m hiding

  • A contract with the ruthless mafia billionaire    The Goodbye and the Promise

Lia’s POV“Please, Lia. Don’t walk away from me, not again.” Kade’s voice came out quieter than intended the moment his dark eyes held mine as though I would disappear if he looked away for one second.“I have to,” I whispered, “If I stay back, Selene will destroy both of us.” He shook his head, his voice shaking. “I don’t care what she does to me, I can’t take it. But I can’t—” He paused for a while and then swallowed hard, “I can’t lose you again.” Before I could think I reached up and brushed my fingers against his jaw before speaking, “You’re not losing me again, Kade. You’ll have to let me go.” For a heartbeat, neither of us moved, the next thing I knew he grabbed my waist, pulling me into him in an embrace that felt final. His arms wrapped around me like he was holding on to a dream that was already slipping away. When he finally let go, his voice came out as a whisper against my hair, “Then I guess there’s nothing left to fight for.”I felt his lips brush the side of my head

  • A contract with the ruthless mafia billionaire    Final Goodbyes

Lia’s POVKade searched my face like he was trying to read the truth I hadn’t said aloud, “What the fuck did you just say?” His voice came out low and dangerous. I swallowed hard, my heart pounding like a drum in my ears as the elevator doors had just closed again.“I said you were right,” I whispered, “About Julian.” Kade’s eyes narrowed as his chest rose and fell heavily. “What about him?” My throat burned with so much I wanted to say, and I forced it out either way, “Julian has been lying to me about everything…”The words tumbled out before I could even breathe. “He…he wasn’t who I thought he was, because all this while Selene had hired him weeks ago. She paid him to seduce me and sleep with me.”Kade’s expression went still as I continued to speak, his jaw clenched tight I could see the veins in his neck. “Selene wanted him to film when fucked me so that she would use it to humiliate me so badly that u would leave the city.”For a moment, Kade didn’t move. Then suddenly, he turn

  • A contract with the ruthless mafia billionaire    My Feelings for You

Lia’s POVIt’s been two days since that incident with Julian at the hospital's parking lot but the world felt quieter, and inside me everything was chaos. My phone buzzed on the counter, and I picked it up lazily to see the most shocking thing in my life, the phone nearly slipped from my fingers as I looked at the notification on the screen.Breaking News: Kade Valen and Selene Blackwell to marry in five days. The headline stared at me in bold letters as if it was mocking me. A photo of them at a boutique flashed underneath, Selene dressed in an expensive gown while Kade stood beside her with his hand in his pocket.I couldn’t breathe, and for a second I swore I heard my heart crack. No, it couldn’t be. He wouldn’t—I pressed the phone to my chest as I tried to steady my breathing, but it didn’t help. Every inhale and exhale came out in shallow gasps.Kade and Selene are getting married in just five days. My mind scrambled for reason, some explanation that didn’t feel like betrayal—bu

  • A contract with the ruthless mafia billionaire    The Perfect Groom

Kade’s POVI sat in the corner of the boutique, which smelled like roses and money — the kind of place where everything was too good to be true. All I could do was watch Selene spin slowly before the mirror as the fashion designer fussed with the lace on her gown. But all I could think about was how wrong it looked on her, not because she wasn’t beautiful but it wasn’t supposed to be her.“Well? How do I look?”She turned to face me with that smug smile on her face as her voice dragged me back to the present, and I realized I hadn’t said a single word in ten minutes.“It’s… fine,” I muttered. The designer’s face lit up the moment I said that, as if I’d just given a royal decree.“Fine! That's wonderful! We’ll make the final adjustments right away.” Then, he walked away, leaving us surrounded by glittering fabrics and silence.Selene studied me through the mirror with those eyes, calculating even behind the sweetness of her painted smile, “You’re quiet again,” she said softly, stepping

  • A contract with the ruthless mafia billionaire    The Lies Between Us

Lia’s POVI didn’t even bother looking back as I stormed away from Julian’s hospital room, my hair was soaked and my hands were shaking. The image of Selene’s smiling face in that picture wouldn’t leave me.It replayed in my head over and over, louder than the rain which was pounding heavily on me. I could still hear her voice echoing from the hallway moments ago when we exchanged words. That smug look on her face when I saw her coming out of Julian's room, for the first time in my life I didn’t know who to believe anymore.I pushed open the hospital doors as I stepped into the parking lot, my heartbeat thudding louder with every step that I took.“Lia!”Then I heard my name as the voice echoed behind me. I turned and saw him — Julian stumbling out of the glass doors in his hospital gown, his hand clutching the side of his bandaged head.“What are you doing?” I shouted over the rain, taking a step back, “Go inside before you make your injuries worse!”He didn’t stop, If anything he k
