Kieran looked frightened for me. There were so many things going on, that I didn’t even realize that by being in the balcony, I could have been taken away.

Cassius is unpredictable. He could show up out of nowhere and no one would notice. 

“Don’t open these windows, not even to take fresh air. If you need to do so, you can do it from somewhere where the guards can watch you, or even Eliphas and I.”

He took me in his arms and hugged me tightly against his chest with the promise to protect me. We heard a knock on the door before Eliphas walked in.
