I woke up the next morning feeling better after a good night’s sleep. I tried my best not to think about the previous day—it’s a new day, and I need to think positive, I had said to myself.

The sunlight streaming through the curtains brought a sense of clarity, even if only temporary.

After taking a quick shower and dressing in casual clothes, I headed downstairs, expecting silence. Instead, I was greeted by the sound of muffled voices coming from the kitchen. My curiosity got the best of me, and I peeked in to find Jake talking on the phone, his back to me, his tone sharp and clipped.

“Make sure the arrangements for the dinner are flawless. No mistakes,do you understand?” His voice was cold, commanding.

He turned slightly, catching sight of me standing awkwardly in the doorway. His expression softened for a split second before returning to his usual self.

“I’ll call you back,” he said into the phone, hanging up before the person on the other end could respond.

“Good morning,” I said cautiously .

He looked straight at me . “Morning. There’s a lot to do today, so don’t make any plans.”

I nodded, swallowing my irritation. “Got it.”

“We’re going shopping this afternoon,” he continued, his tone brisk. “You’ll need a dress for the company dinner.”

“Shopping?” I echoed, caught off guard.

“Yes. Consider it part of the arrangement,” he said without looking up. “Be ready by two.”

And just like that, the conversation was over. Jake stood, placed his empty cup in the sink, and left the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts.

The rest of the morning passed in a blur. I busied myself with some works in my room, trying not to dwell on the mounting pressure of the dinner or the strange tension between Jake and me. By the time two o’clock rolled around, I was dressed and waiting by the front door, my heart pounding in anticipation.

Jake arrived right on time, his usual cold expression in place as he led me to the car. The drive to the boutique was quiet, the air between us heavy with unspoken words.

---

The boutique Jake took me to was the kind of place I’d only ever seen in magazines—luxurious, exclusive, and far beyond anything I could have imagined for myself. The sales assistants practically fawned over Jake the moment we walked in, their smiles widening when he mentioned I needed something for a formal event.

I tried on dress after dress, each one more extravagant than the last. The assistants offered compliments and suggestions, but their words blurred together as my anxiety grew. This wasn’t just about picking a dress; it was about becoming someone I wasn’t, someone who could fit into Jake’s world.

Finally, I stepped out of the fitting room in a sleek black gown that hugged my body in all the right places. The assistant’s face lit up, and even Jake looked up from his phone, his gaze lingering on me for a moment longer than usual.

“Well?” I asked, my voice tinged with self-consciousness.

Jake stood, his expression neutral as he approached. “It’ll work,” he said simply, though his tone softened slightly.

I frowned. “That’s it? It’ll work?”

His lips twitched, almost forming a smile. “You look good, Sophy. Don’t overthink it.”

I know I look good, what’s so bad in telling me the fact straight up without saying “Don’t overthink it” I had to said to myself forming a smile on my face..

The assistant clapped her hands together, eager to finalize the selection. As she took the gown away to be packed, I turned to Jake, my anxiety creeping out.

“What happens if I mess up at the dinner?” I asked quietly.

Jake’s expression hardened, his gaze locking onto mine. “You won’t mess up. Just follow my lead, and everything will be fine.”

I nodded, though his reassurance did little to ease my nerves. Deep down, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was in over my head.

---

And yet, as Jake opened the car door for me and I climbed inside, I realized that for the next six months, this world was mine. Whether I liked it or not, I had to survive it.

By the time we got back to Jake’s house, the sun was beginning to set. I stepped out of the car, clutching the garment bag that held the dress, and followed Jake inside. He seemed preoccupied, his jaw tight and his movements brisk as he headed straight to his office.

I went up to my room, wanting nothing more than to collapse on the bed and shut out the world. But as I unpacked the dress and hung it up, a strange unease settled over me. Something about Jake’s behavior today felt… different. Off, even.

I shook my head, dismissing the thought. Maybe I was just imagining things. Or maybe this whole situation was starting to get to me.

As I sat down on the edge of the bed, my phone buzzed on the nightstand. I picked it up, expecting a message from Lia or a reminder from Jake about the dinner.

But the message wasn’t from anyone I recognized.

An unknown number had sent me a message saying “Be careful who you trust,Not everything is as it seems”.

My heart skipped a beat, the mysterious message sending a chill down my spine.

I stared at the screen, my mind racing. Who sent this? And what did they mean?

Before I could process it, there was a knock at the door. I jumped, clutching the phone tightly in my hand.

“Sophy,” Jake’s voice called from the other side, calm yet firm. “We need to talk.”

I hesitated, my pulse quickening. The timing was too strange to be a coincidence.

Taking a deep breath, I slipped the phone into my pocket and stood. As I opened the door and met Jake’s unreadable gaze, a single thought echoed in my mind:

*What have I gotten myself into?

  • A night with the twin billionaire    No Turning Back

I sat motionless on the couch, my heart still racing from the scene that had just unfolded. Jake had just announced—out of nowhere—that we were having a grand wedding. A real one. Not just a legal contract signed in private, but an elaborate event in front of everyone who mattered in high society. I exhaled sharply, rubbing my palms together . Jake was up to something, that much was obvious. He wasn’t the type to make a move without a calculated reason. But what was it? Was it just to prove Liam wrong? Or was there something deeper at play? I heard footsteps descending the stairs. Jake reappeared, sleeves still rolled up, looking completely unbothered as if he hadn’t just dropped a bombshell that turned my world upside down. “You’re thinking too hard,” he said, smirking. I glared at him. “You just announced our wedding, Jake.” “And?” He shrugged, casually taking a seat across from me. “We’re already married. What’s the big deal?” “The big deal?” I repeated in disbelief.

  • A night with the twin billionaire    A Grand Illusion

Days went by and we were at peace at least for this period.I woke up the next day to the soft rays of sunlight coming through the curtains, casting a golden glow across the room. It had been a while since I started sleeping in Jake’s room, though we still had separate beds. Yet, no matter how much space was between us, something about this arrangement felt… different. I sat up slowly, rubbing the sleep from my eyes, when a soft knock came at the door. “Come in,” I called, still stretching and yawning.Jake stepped inside, dressed in a white shirt with the top buttons undone, his sleeves rolled up just enough to reveal his forearms. He looked effortlessly put together, but there was something else in his expression—I couldn’t read or place it . “Morning,” he greeted casually, heading toward the closet. “Morning,” I mumbled. I studied him suspiciously. “Why do I feel like you’re up to something?” Jake smirked. “Because I am.” I opened my mouth to ask what, but a familiar v

  • A night with the twin billionaire    Getting closer

The warmth of Jake’s hand in mine sent a strange sense of calm through me. It felt so safe and real. Not like an act or something forced, but natural as if this was where I was meant to be. Jake exhaled slowly, his grip tightening just slightly before he let go, his fingers lingering for a second longer than necessary. He ran a hand through his hair, sighing. “You should get some sleep,” he said, his voice softer now. I bit my lip. “You too.” He gave a small tired smiles and then nodded his head . “I will. Eventually. He stood up, but before he could turn to leave, I found myself speaking again. “Jake?” He stopped, looking down at me. I hesitated. “Do you really think they will come after me again?” His expression darkened slightly, but he crouched down beside me, resting his arms on his knees. “I don’t know. But I’m not taking any risks.” There was something about the way he said it, it felt so certain, so protective that it made my heart skip a beat. I swallowed. “

Just calm down and relax Sophy, it might not be so serious. Lia said with a smile on her face. The ride home from the hospital was quiet. My mind kept replaying Jake’s words “We need to talk”.I couldn’t shake the voice out of my head. I kept thinking of it while biting my finger nails.Lia glanced at me from the passenger seat, noticing my silence. "Are you okay?" I nodded, but my stomach churned with uncertainty. "Yeah, just wondering what Jake wants to talk about." She smirked. "Maybe he wants another kiss." I shot her a look. "Lia." "What? Just saying!" She laughed. "Look, don’t overthink it. You said things are different between you two, right? Maybe he just wants to talk about the two of you since you haven’t said anything much since the kiss.Maybe. But something about his tone made me think otherwise. When we pulled up to the mansion, I exhaled, preparing myself for whatever was coming. "I’ll see you later?" Lia nodded. "Text me, okay? And if he proposes for real,

Lia asked to I know I was supposed to be with you for your birthday but Jake called and said he would love to handle it all, and I later got busy at work…it’s like the universe knew my boss would ask for my help and made Jake take over the birthday. So tell me how was it?I smiled.. well it was pretty great I said trying to hide how happy I felt but Lia caught on. Tell me babe what happened between you guys..you’re blushing.“We kissed” I said before she could go any further with her long talks. You did what? Did you just say kiss? • A night with the twin billionaire    A new beginning

The next morning we headed back home to the mansion, the drive home was so quite but at the same time it was peaceful. The soft hum of the car engine filled the silence between us, and despite the peaceful surroundings, my mind was beating fast .Adrian’s words kept replaying in my head. He fact that was done with all the threats . The twisted game of power, revenge, and deceit was finally over. But there was an odd mix of relief and uncertainty that settled in my chest. Everything had changed in an instant, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that something else was waiting just around the corner.I glanced over at Jake, who was focused on the road, his hands gripping the steering wheel with an ease that made me wonder if he was as calm as he appeared. His eyes were fixed ahead, but there was something softer in his expression now. Maybe the realization that this whole issue with Adrian has finally come to an end and he can finally breath a fresh air. "Are you okay?" I asked softly, br

  • A night with the twin billionaire    The Final Reckoning

The world outside the beach house was quiet. The waves rolled in with a steady rhythm, the cool evening air carrying the scent of salt and freedom. But despite the peaceful surroundings, a weight still lingered in the back of my mind. Adrian. No matter how far Jake had brought me from the chaos of his world, it was still there, hovering like a shadow waiting to pounce. The kiss we had shared earlier had changed something between us, but it didn’t erase the reality we had to return to. And as if the universe could hear my thoughts, Jake’s phone buzzed on the wooden nightstand beside the bed. I looked over at him. He had been leaning against the window, staring out at the ocean like he was trying to hold onto the peace of this moment. But as soon as he heard the sound, his body tensed. His eyes flicked to the phone, then to me. Who is it? I asked softly. He didn’t answer right away. Instead he exhaled, like he already knew whatever was waiting for him on that screen wasn’t

  • A night with the twin billionaire    A Moment to Breathe

**Sophy’s POV** I woke up to the sound of waves crashing in the distance. At first, I thought I was dreaming, but as my eyes fluttered open, the golden morning light spilled through unfamiliar curtains. The air smelled like salt and sun, warm and inviting. I felt refreshed from the breeze coming into the room I found myself in.Where was I? I pushed the covers off and sat up, realizing I wasn’t in my room at Jake’s house. Instead, I was in a cozy, sunlit beach house with wooden floors, soft white curtains billowing in the ocean breeze. The realization sent a ripple of surprise through me. I barely had time to process what was happening before the door opened. Jake stood there, casually dressed in a white button-up with the sleeves rolled up and dark shorts, looking effortlessly at home against the ocean backdrop. “Morning,” he said, leaning against the doorframe. His gaze softened as he looked at me. I swallowed, still trying to process. “Where are we?” Jake stepped insid
