I had more than enough time to jump out of the way and save myself but it wasn’t important, what was the essence of saving myself when my life was literally over?
I stayed rooted to the spot, waiting for the car to crush my weak legs. My eyes were wide open while Cora was too dull to push me into doing anything. The car came to a halt just a few inches away and I growled, furious that it wasn’t going to smash me. Someone bolted out of the car. “Are you okay? What the hell was that!” I heard a masculine and thick tone and I began sobbing afresh. Men are evil creatures, they don’t deserve to be alive. Men are scum, they deserve nothing but the worst things in life. “Are you okay?” His voice softened and I fell down, reality dawning on me that tomorrow I’ll wake up as Dave’s ex, the lady he cheated on, the one he didn’t care about and the omega of the pack, people would rub it in my face that I was his toy. “Are you okay?” The voice was oddly family and I rushed my head, everything stopping for a moment as I locked gaze with a pair of dark eyes. I was drawn in instantly as the darkness glistened and seemed to be sucking in my soul. I felt warmth for a moment and for a minute, I saw life in another dimension of life. “Are you okay?” I snapped my head and took notice of his whole body and face. He was Dave’s uncle! The stinking rich bastard whom Dave hated a lot. “Scum” I snarled under my breath, knowing they had the same blood and were literally the same people. I forced myself up and hissed, staring at him with fury. “I asked you a question, are you okay?” He grabbed my arm and his firm grip made something awaken inside Cora but it disappeared even before I could fathom what it was. “Why do you care! What!” I thundered fiercely and he was taken aback! I know his type, all they do is pretend to care and make girls fall in love with them then break their hearts in the most brutal way. “Are you okay?” His question became annoying and all my sadness turned into anger, I channeled all my anger at him. If I can’t do anything to Dave, insulting him would be much better, same blood and behavior after all. “Do I look okay? Get your hands off me! Is this how you go around acting nice and helping girls with broken hearts!” I snapped and much to my surprise I heard a chuckle. “No, it’s not everyday a lady tries to kill herself… Most girls use drastic methods to get my attention but none has been desperate enough to use death” He replied and I scoffed, seizing him up and noticing his egoistic aura before any other thing. “You wish” I retorted and was about to walk out when his words stopped me. “Aren’t you Dave’s girlfriend? Why are you outside at this time of the day?” He demanded and I gawked. “And so what if I was his girlfriend? Why do you care! Aren’t you all the same! Bunch of hypocrites and heart wreckers!” I retorted as I broke into tears, my wound opening afresh at the mention of Dave’s name. “Wanna talk about it over alcohol?” He suggested and only the goddess knows what prompted me to nod my head. He stretched his hand but I didn’t take it, he was still the same with Dave and I know he was being nice probably to spite Dave later or use it against him. I got into the back seat of his car and continued sobbing throughout the journey. He kept glancing at me like he had never seen a lady cry before. “What?” I barked, he was staring too much and it made me uncomfortable. “I’ve never seen a grown woman cry this much because of a guy” He replied and I scoffed. “Well you have now! Happy?” I retorted and he shook his head. We got to the most expensive bar in the pack and my mouth dropped. This bar was meant for those who could spend millions without bulging because I heard the cheapest drink was more than half a million. We stepped inside and a waiter jumped to our side immediately and I saw people stare at Dave’s uncle with respect but the shocking thing was that people were staring at me too. Ladies had envious glances and a few were slowly killing me with their eyes, their jealousy was evidence and I wondered if having alcohol was something to be jealous about. I hope they experience the same thing I experienced today. “Wow… Is she his girlfriend…” “He has never brought any lady here before, she must be special…” I could hear whispers and this made me stare at him with shock. He knew I was his nephew’s girlfriend and he was bringing me here for no reason? I began to think things through, wondering what had prompted me into asking and why he asked in the first place. Yes I was sad and devastated but he could’ve offered to drop me home or anything. “Let’s go” He muttered as he strutted inside and I bowed my head, trying to avoid the deadly glares. We got to a private room and while I was still admiring the room, several bottles of wine were brought in which made me gasp. “You needed alcohol, I don’t know the type you take so I got everything I can think of” He muttered making me furrow my brows because I remembered I’ve never taken alcohol before and I went calm instantly, fondling my fingers as I wondered how I’d get myself out of this mess. “What? You don’t like them? What do you want exactly?” He asked and I scratched my neck slightly. “I… I… I don’t drink…” I stuttered. “For a feisty person like you, that’s a shocker. You should have this then, take it slowly, it’s sweet so don’t think it’s juice okay” He warned and I nodded, accepting it shyly. I took a sip and it went straight into my bloodstream, round my body and finally settled in my brain, sending cool energy down my body. It tasted great and it lifted my spirits drastically, I must be missing out a lot. “You do know too much is bad right?” He suggested and I scoffed because the alcohol was touching the right spot. I began to think about Dave and our years together, life didn’t seem so bad anymore and I felt I’d be great to live without him and focus on myself. I’d do everything for myself now and damn all the consequences, I wouldn’t give a fuck about him or anyone anymore, I would be selfish. “You shouldn’t take…” “Just zip it! I know you’re doing this to spite your nephew but I don’t care. Don’t pretend like you care about me when I know you guys are just a bunch of selfish, evil and cheating bastards” I snarled angrily and he chuckled, watching me with an amused smile as I vented out my anger.CatherineHeading to school the next day, I was undecided about how I’d face everyone but I knew I wasn’t going to run away from them anymore, I was a small wolf and there’s nothing anybody can do about it, they better accept it or leave me the way I am.I entered the school and every eye darted to my direction, it felt like I was in an opera show with everybody’s eyes and the spotlight on me. I forced my stiff legs to move forward.“Look at her…”“She has a very tiny wolf, how come she’s a chubby human with an excess body?” “She’s evil! Everything about her is screaming evil, I’m sure it’s because she’s evil that’s why the goddess gave her a tiny wolf and big body” “Take a look at her, she’s acting all innocent and nice when she’s a bitch…”“I wish she could disappear into thin air and never return…” “She’s brave, coming back to school like nothing happened after the humiliation she faced…”Their words pierced my heart with sorrow but I couldn’t do anything other than
Alpha Jeffrey was in the pack house when Dave entered inside. “Good day, father” He muttered softly as he bowed his head and Jeffrey just glanced at him without a word.It was evident that the Alpha wasn’t pleased with him. Justin walked inside a few minutes later and he bowed slightly, grunting a greeting to the Alpha whose eyes glistened with slight delight.Dave scowled in fury but held himself from doing anything, there were still a few plasters on his body, that was enough reminder that Justin wasn’t one to be fought without proper preparation.“Justin, is it so hard for you to make time to see me? I send out invitations every week and month yet the last time I saw you was more than 6 months ago” Alpha Jeffrey scoffed.“I’m sorry, alpha… I’ve been swamped with work…” Justin lied and Jeffrey smiled softly. “Still the same lie after all these years. Do you still resent me? I’m sorry for not coming into your life earlier…”“No, I hold no grudge against you, I’ve been busy, I work at
“Where the heck have you been?” Diana asked, immediately she saw Catherine. “I went somewhere,” Catherine answered harshly. “Was it to professor Justin? Catherine, I…” “I’m an adult and capable of taking care of myself and deciding on who I’d be friends with…” Catherine cut her off harshly. “I… I was merely concerned about…” Diana was shocked and furious although it didn’t show. “Thanks for your concern but I think it’s best you focus more on yourself” She replied harshly as she entered inside, slamming the door shut. “I’m so sorry Cora…” She muttered softly, wishing Cora could forgive her. She could remember running into the forest with Cora trying very hard to stop her but she was determined. She had gone as far as shutting Cora out even though she was in her wolf form. “I’m just glad Justin saved us in time” She replied and Catherine could hear a hint of fury but she decided not to press on with her, Cora loved to have her space whenever she was angry or sad. “Do you know wh
“I… I…I’ve got a question… Can I know why you’re doing this? I wanna know why you’re helping me? Why are you doing me a favor?”He was stunned by her question. Thinking about it too, he didn’t have any form of answer, he just felt helping her was right, it pleased his soul to see her happy and he sighed heavily.“Is there something I don’t know? What are you hiding? Is there a reason why you’re helping me?” She asked again and he could remember that there was one great reason, a reason worth killing everyone just to please her but he went silent, he couldn’t say anything.“So there’s something? So there’s a reason why you’re doing this… Can you tell me is it because of Dave? Are you doing this to hurt Dave? You wish to use me as your weapon against him because you know he gets pissed when we’re together right?” She asked and he shook his head vigorously, stunned that she had thought of things the wrong way.Although he was pleased that Dave was still in love with her and he wanted her
Arriving at the gym, he pulled the door, waiting for her to come out which she did weakly. “Please… Just come with me” He pleaded, she was too drained to do anything so she just followed him.She stepped inside immediately he opened the gym, walking to the underground gym before she collapsed weakly, she was drained but also surprised, angry and moved. How he had managed to find her was a big shock to her and she wanted to know how. There were countless places to be at but he choose to be at the very place she was, the very moment she was about to commit suicide. She was bent on carrying out that plan even after leaving, no amount of motivation was enough to stop her. Her life was worse than hell so it was better to commit suicide then fo reside in hell.He left her which stunned her because she thought he’d be filled with questions. She had questions too. She wanted to know why he was being there for her, helping her at the risk of soiling his name and reputation and above all why he
“Where’s Catherine?” Justin demanded, walking into the house immediately Diana opened the door.“She went out… She didn’t say anything about where she was going but if you wait, I could call her and get her to come back” Diana muttered and he frowned heavily, running his hand through his hands, wondering where she could be.“I… can help you… I can help you find her, I can help you in many more great ways… Justin… I’m ready to help you do anything” Diana muttered softly, biting her lips sexily and he looked very disgusted.“Just drop it!” He retorted when Diana tried to get close to him. He pushed her away and walked out, staring around helplessly as he wondered where she might be.Jack was furious, it made him very worried and he tried to calm himself. He decided to channel all his strength and energy into finding her through her scent. He could scent people from afar but he didn’t know where she was and He’d have to filter out everyone's scent just to get hers. He decided to go sit
