46. Grainne — Escape

Five years ago

I spent the past two weeks alone locked up in my room, crying myself to sleep and waking up in the middle of the night with nightmares.

He raped me.

I hadn't told anyone. Who would believe that their alpha sexually assaulted me? He'd probably get away with it. The longer I stayed locked up in my room, the worse it got. I just had to do something, anything, just to get rid of the pain.

I made my way out of my room and headed straight to the training grounds, but on my way, I saw that they had ended today's schedule. We only had a few hounds attack now and then. But it wouldn't hurt if we got ready for an inevitable futuristic battle. My father was with some young wolf bloods. He looked at me with an excited smile and waved at me. I sauntered toward them and he dismissed them, acknowledging my presence.

“Hey, sweetie.” He pulled me into an embrace.

“Hi, dad. How are you?”

“I should ask you that. I haven't seen you in weeks,” he smiled with a concerned look.
