CHAPTER 57

Angelina's POV

The house wasn't really a house.

It was more of a manor.

Like sixty feet tall and with some tall towers that would give you the feeling of a place where an evil witch would be most likely to trap you.

Ella said they stored books up in those towers, but that wasn't where we stood.

Ella had helped me clamber up the roof using a hatch that I never knew was in my room. It would seem its former occupant also loved coming to the roof.

We would have been safe had we simply sat down on the flat expanse that made up the architecture of the roofing beneath the room assigned to me.

But that wasn't what we did.

The air left my lungs the moment I lost my footing and I could already see it.

Me.

A splatter of bones and blood, my face ruptured from the force of the fall and my eyes out of their eye sockets.

I would look like a squashed bird and I would be dead too.

I'd have landed right in front of the entrance to the hall and I would have caused a scene.
