I didn’t feel the ground under my feet. Not really.

Not after Cian said those two words.

Ronan’s gone.

It was like the air got sucked out of the corridor. The world narrowed to a pinpoint, and everything else blurred at the edges—Kieran’s sudden stillness beside me, the way Cian’s eyes didn’t waver, and the silence that settled over the space like a shroud.

“Gone?” I asked, though I already knew.

Not dead. Not captured.

Just… vanished.

Cian nodded, jaw clenched so tight I could practically hear his molars grinding. “His scent ends at the perimeter. No trace past that. Like he chose to disappear.”

That hit harder than I expected. Not just because Ronan had been one of the few voices grounding me these past few weeks, but because part of me had started to believe he might be the only one who understood the darkness I carried.

Now he was gone.

And the silence he left behind was deafening.

I tried not to pace, but my body didn’t listen. My magic was restless. My pulse, erratic. The storm

  • ALPHA'S CURSED MATE    Chapter 57 – The Edge Between Us

It’s a strange thing, looking into the eyes of someone you’re supposed to trust and realizing they’re not just a mystery—you’re part of the riddle. She called herself my aunt. And I believed her.The air in the council chamber thinned like the walls themselves were holding their breath.Kieran shifted beside me, his body tense and half-turned toward mine, as if instinctively preparing to shield me. His wolf, I could feel it in the hum beneath his skin, restless and wild just under the surface. But I didn’t move.I faced her. This woman with flamelit eyes and power woven into every deliberate step she took toward me.“I don’t have an aunt,” I said, my voice steadier than I felt.“You don’t know what you have,” she replied. Her words dropped into the silence like stones in water. And still, no one interrupted. Not the Elders. Not the guards. Not even Kieran.“I was there,” she continued, her tone cool but not cruel. “When your mother broke the oath. When she disappeared with you into th

Love was never supposed to feel like this—like something raw and blood-soaked, forged in fire and fear. But then again, neither was I.And neither was he.Kieran didn’t speak until the door clicked shut behind Kael. The emissaries were downstairs. The house buzzed with tension like it had grown veins, pumping unease through every corridor. And yet, he just stood there beside me, his chest still rising and falling like he hadn’t quite come down from the fight. From the kiss. From us.“I need to tell you something,” he said finally, his voice rough. “Before they tear everything apart.”I turned toward him slowly. The moonlight painted him in silver and shadow. His expression wasn’t the fierce Alpha mask he wore in battle. It was something else. Raw. Unarmored.“Kieran?”He didn’t answer at first. Just walked to the edge of the room and leaned against the window ledge, fingers gripping it like he was bracing for impact. And maybe he was.“I don’t believe in love.”It wasn’t the kind of s

They came from the trees like wraiths—fast, silent, merciless.I barely had time to suck in a breath before Kieran pushed me behind him, his claws out, fangs bared, the snarl that tore from his throat making even me flinch. For a moment, I wasn’t looking at the male I’d started to trust—I was looking at the Alpha inside him. The one everyone feared. The one no one challenged. The enemy didn’t care. They struck anyway. And we were surrounded. The first hit came from the left. I ducked, rolled, and came up with a burst of energy that sent the attacker flying into a tree. He didn’t get back up.Another lunged, claws aimed for my throat.Kieran was faster. He tackled the wolf midair, slamming him into the ground with a crunch that made my stomach flip. The forest floor trembled with the force of his rage. Then came the rest.Four. Five. Six wolves. Maybe more.No insignias. No colors. But they were organized, and they were good.Which meant this wasn’t a rogue attack. This was a hit.An e

The kiss still lingered on my lips when everything started falling apart.Shouting in the halls. Footsteps thundering toward us. Magic tingling sharp beneath my skin like it had been waiting for an excuse to rise. And Kieran—God, Kieran—he was still close enough to feel the heat of him when Caspian’s voice broke through:“They’re here for her.”I thought he’d hold on. That after everything—after that night, that kiss, that moment—he’d stay. But I should’ve known better.Because the second I stepped toward the fight, Kieran stepped away.We fought side by side. Our movements were tight. Efficient. Every swing of his blade was backed by instinct. Every pulse of my magic was controlled—barely. They weren’t just wolves. They were trained, fast, and brutal. Halfmasked and halfmaddened, loyal to someone with enough power to organize an ambush on sacred territory.Whoever sent them didn’t want me dead. They wanted me taken. That was the worst part.Because they weren’t aiming to kill. They w

  • ALPHA'S CURSED MATE    Chapter 50 – What He Wasn’t Supposed to Feel

The first time Kieran kissed me, it wasn’t gentle. It wasn’t soft or slow or filled with hesitant pauses the way it might’ve been in a different life, a different story—one where love came easy and fate wasn’t so damn cruel. It was fierce. Desperate. Like he was trying to shove everything he felt into that moment because he didn’t want to feel any of it to begin with. And maybe I kissed him back because I didn’t want to feel it either.I’d gone to the ruins for space. Not the official ones, not the places Council elders used to offer prayers to whatever gods they claimed had teeth. This was older. More private. A collapsed circle of stones in the north woods—halfforgotten, halfswallowed by vines, and marked only by the silence that lived there. That silence had become a kind of comfort. At least until I heard footsteps.Heavy. Deliberate. Someone who wasn’t trying to sneak up on me. Someone who wanted to be heard.I didn’t turn around.“I figured you'd wait a little longer before chec
