Lilly's pov

After Mark left, I dragged myself back to bed, but sleep wasn’t easy. I was furious with him for showing up at my house at that ridiculous hour. But I was even angrier at myself for actually opening the door to him. I had thought, just for a brief moment, that Mark wouldn’t listen to me when I ordered him to leave. That he would linger, argue, and try to manipulate me like he always did. But he didn’t. And yet, somehow, it still felt like I had no control over the situation.

What did he mean by “I can’t stop thinking about you, Lilly?” Did that mean he still had feelings for me? And if that was the case, why now? Why after everything that had happened? No, it couldn’t be. He was the one who broke up with me, who walked away from us without a second thought. And besides, he had someone new in his life now. What was Mark up to?
