Chapter Three - We Meet Again!

Nurse Daisy opened the door and walked into the room assigned exclusively to important patients. Sienna followed her inside and picked up the patient details chart and handed it over to nurse Daisy. They poured over the details when Sienna’s glance fell upon an unconscious Lucas. She froze with horror immediately recognizing the man whom she had accidentally kissed a week back. She hadn’t been able to forget her first kiss with him. It had been going on and on in her head ever since that fateful night.

Lucas! What was he doing here? She walked towards his bedside and stood looking at him with disbelief. “Do you know him?” asked nurse Daisy curiously.

“No, no, I just saw him at the club where I was celebrating my birthday,” said Sienna.

“Oh! He’s Lucas Donnelly, owner of Donnelly Technology Corp.,” informed Daisy. Sienna’s eyes went wide with shock. Who didn’t know of DTC, whose products were used at every household in the country? She had kissed the owner of DTC? ‘Oh, God! What have I done? What must he think of me now? That I kissed him to seduce him somehow!’ thought Sienna, shaking her head.

“Sienna, what’s wrong? Where are you lost? Check the patient’s pressure,” instructed Daisy as she picked up the reports of the latest tests. Sienna did as told, thankful that Lucas was unconscious. She would hand over his work to someone else before he gained consciousness. She didn’t want to face him again.

The next few days Lucas’s condition improved and he started responding to the treatment. Although he was still unconscious, he could feel someone’s presence in the room, a sweet, soothing, feminine presence. He could hear a melodious, familiar voice in the room. He had heard that voice somewhere before. She held his hands, touched his face, took care of him, making him want to wake up fast and see the angel who was around him. However, he couldn’t open his eyes even if he wanted to.

A week had passed by when suddenly Lucas opened his eyes. The harsh light hit him and he immediately shut them again. After a while, he started hearing a male voice in his room instead of the angelic one who had always been there for the entire last week. Not understanding what was happening, he slowly opened his eyes to search for his angel. A male attendant came forward to help him.

“Who are you?” Lucas croaked, looking around for his angel. The male attendant gave him some water to drink and summoned Dr. Dresden immediately. Lucas was angry and adamant and refused all sorts of treatment.

“I want the nurse who used to take care of me and no one else. Please summon her or I’ll ruin you,” he yelled hysterically.

To calm him down, Dr. Dresden personally went in search of Sienna. There was no other way out for Sienna than to oblige. She slowly followed the doctor to Lucas’s room. The whole hospital could hear his tantrums from outside!

“Our reputation is in your hands, Ms. Hensley. He can ruin us with a click of his fingers. Please calm him down,” pleaded Dr. Dresden. Sienna nodded and walked towards the door slowly. Her heart was beating rapidly in her chest. She had no idea how Lucas would react after seeing her. Would he remember her? She hadn’t been able to forget the kiss and neither did Lucas. Every second her traitorous body longed for a repeat.

She slowly opened the door to Lucas’s room and went inside. She could hear him yelling at the male attendant as he prepared the medications to be injected. The moment she walked inside, Lucas turned to look at her. His mouth hung open with shock seeing the woman of his dreams right in front of his eyes. He stopped yelling upon seeing her and watched her in silence. In the broad daylight, she was a sight for sore eyes, angelic, beautiful, and the most gorgeous woman on earth. Despite the uniform, she simmered with sensuality but it was her sultry lips that caught his attention. He vividly remembered the way he had kissed those lips and he was getting a hard-on just looking at them. His pulse quickened and he swallowed hard, but not a single word came out of his lips. He was dumbstruck by the beauty in front of him. The same sweet smell of fresh roses wafted into his nose.

Sienna! He had been hunting for her like a madman and here she was wearing a se*y nurse’s outfit, hovering around him. For the first time, he felt thankful that he had that wretched accident. Else he wouldn’t have met Sienna again. However, to his disappointment, she just gave him a brief glance and walked around to the male attendant. Did she not remember him? Did she not remember their sizzling kiss?

“Ben, I’ll take over. You can go back to your duty,” she told him. Ben nodded and left, closing the door after him. Sienna, injected the medicine into his channel and glanced up at Lucas who stared at her without batting an eyelid.

“How are you?” she asked him softly, feeling extremely conscious of herself. His piercing gaze was unnerving her, making her grapple with what she should say to him. It seemed as if he was trying to read her soul. Lucas nodded slowly.

“I’m fine,” he said gruffly as if he was upset with her. “Why did you disappear?” he asked accusingly. Sienna was taken aback by his sudden question.

“It was late and I had to go home,” she said hesitantly. It was a lame excuse but anything was better than saying nothing at all. She didn’t want him to know how nervous she was. He raised an eyebrow at her as if reading her soul.

“I was talking about today. You were taking care of me while I was unconscious, weren’t you?” he asked accusingly. Sienna gaped at him. How did he know? He hadn’t seen her since he was unconscious. “Don’t deny it. I could feel you,” he stated gruffly.

“Yes, I was but I had a change of duties,” she explained, fidgeting with her hands nervously. Lucas’s gaze drank her in, not getting enough of her. Sienna fidgeted under his unapologetic stare, picking up his chart and going through the details, checking his medication supplies until Lucas caught her wrist in a firm grasp.

“Why are you avoiding me, Sienna?” he asked impatiently.

“I’m not. I’m just..,” he held up his hand with a scowl.

“Help me sit up,” he ordered.

“Leave my hand first,” she pointed out. Lucas left her and waited for her to come closer to him. He was already hard just at the thought of her nearness. Those darn lips of hers were driving him insane with sinful thoughts. Sienna walked towards him and raised the bed without even touching him. Lucas was disappointed. He had wanted to feel her hands on his body, it was all he had been thinking of lately. He scowled like an impossible child who had been robbed of his candy!

“I’m uncomfortable this way. Can you fix these damn pillows?” he complained. Sienna reached out and held him by the shoulders to reposition him on the bed. His breath hitched at her touch. Lucas groaned in his head. He seriously needed to get laid soon if this was his reaction to a simple gesture of help. It had been five long years since he had any pleasures of that kind. Maybe he really had become too clinical and robotic as Marcus pointed out all the time.

Sienna fluffed the pillows up and aligned them properly to support him well, her face flushed red under his minute scrutiny. Touching him, feeling his hard muscles under her palm had made her extremely aware of their position. Under normal circumstances would he have kissed her again? Maybe not. He was such a celebrity, why would he even remember her?

It was just the effect of alcohol that had brought them close that night. Obviously, it was a one-time thing. Sienna tried to be as unaffected and professional as possible but with Lucas’s face just inches from hers and his hot gaze fixed upon her, it was an impossible task to do.

With her emerald green eyes shining like molten pools of lava, her scent making him intoxicated, drunk, Lucas couldn’t look away from her. At that moment, there was nothing more he wanted than just to hold her in his arms and kiss her, just like he had two weeks ago.

“If you don’t need anything else, I’ll leave, Mr. Donnelly,” she asked hesitantly, not wanting him to get upset again. Lucas frowned at her.

“So you know who I am?” he asked her with curiosity. That night at Phoenix, he was sure that she hadn’t recognized him.

“Yeah, our head nurse informed me,” said Sienna, with wide eyes.

“Good! So now you know what I can do. Right? I can ruin your career, Sienna. I can ruin this hospital if you don’t look after me well. Call your Head Nurse immediately. I want you to look after me and no one else,” he gritted out impatiently.
