Chapter 71 – She Is Coming Home

(Alexander’s POV)

As I watched Leigh walking toward the living room, I stared at the ceiling, planning my way out of my promise to Zyra. If Leigh got pregnant, I knew it would be my best excuse. Tonight, I wanted Leigh and me to talk about our relationship and how serious I was about spending my life with her for the rest of our lives. If I had to speak to her parents, I would do it. That’s how desperate I am now just to be with her.

“It’s George,” Leigh pointed at my cell phone. I heaved a sigh, but I climbed down from the bed, dressing up quickly, to answer her call.

“George,” I said without greeting her.

“Bad timing, Boss?” she asked, but my eyebrows knitted, imagining her with bad news based on the tone of her voice.
