After Divorce I got kidnapped to marry a Mafia King

Chapter one. 

Alcantara Walters.

I just marched angrily to the company’s building in annoyance and disgust. 

 A security guard tried stopping me on sight but I was able to dodge his attempt to grab me relentlessly and used the elevator before he could get to me. 

Of course, due to my messy look and scattered hair, I looked like I didn’t belong in that environment, like a woman on drugs or something. 

Little do these people know that I am the secret wife of their owner and CEO, Pascal Danvers and Sadly, that was all going to change from today. 

While inside I could see the reddening of my face on the reflection of the mirror-like elevator walls.

 I gripped the Divorce papers in my hands. It was now or never. My heart kept beating fast but I consoled myself by remembering why I was doing this. 

When the doors opened up to the 25th floor which happened to be Pascal’s Office, I rushed past the receptionist and barged into his office, I could hear her yell at me to stop and that he was in a meeting but I didn’t care. 

As soon as I got in, I made sure to lock the doors so the cliché personal assistant coming in to explain herself and bullshit wasn’t going to happen. 

When I turned, he truly was in a meeting, there were about Three men with him and he looked at me in surprise.

“Alcantara? What are you doing here?”

I stood there crossing my arms and staring at his large brown eyes which were visible from where I stood not saying anything, what I knew for sure was that I wasn’t going to leave the room, hell I would join the meeting if I had to, to get this over and done with. 

Pascal got the memo and asked the gentlemen to kindly leave as they would continue the meeting later.

As soon as all three of the men had left, his nice and calm baritone voice changed to a horse one.

“How dare you barge into my office like this? Couldn’t whatever this is wait at home?” 

I eyed him angrily and moved to where he sat, placing the paper on the table before him.

“You accused my brother of attempting to murder your brother who is currently in a coma, you didn’t even want to find evidence or anything relating to that night…” 

He cuts me short and yells. 

“How many times do we have to go through this, Alcantara your brother is fucking guilty! There is no evidence to find. Your brother was there at the scene holding a gun, it had to be him, he had the motive.” 

I scoffed at that last word.

“Motive? and what motive could that be? That we are poor people and the love of money is the root of our evil doings” 

He lowers his eyes to conceal the fact that it was what he thought. But then adds up to a defense. 

“We both know that he never for once liked me” 

I ignored that statement and continued. 

“My brother was working in the fields when he heard that gunshot on the terrace, he just happened to pick up that gun and was holding it when you came in, it still doesn't make sense why you were so close to the scene"

Pascal stood up from where he was sitting and walked up to me in anger. 

“You have told me this story a million times and it still didn’t stop the police from getting him, I won’t get all sentimental because he is YOUR brother, mine was the one who got hurt” 

I laughed with an edge.

 “You know, that is what surprised me the most.” Looking into his eyes so that he understands the gravity of the hurt that I felt at the moment, I added 

” You never trusted me or believed me, you treated my brother like a dog and sent him down there to rot, So Pascal I regret ever knowing you, getting married to you, and being with someone like you.” 

He could now feel the anger in my voice.

He blinked as he ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.

“So, you want to throw away everything that we have just because of a Murderer?” 

I was tempted to slap him across the cheek for calling my brother that but I just decided to hold all my rage in. 

“We never had anything, to begin with, you married me secretly because you were ashamed of the fact that I had no money or status worthy of being announced as your wife, so fuck you and your everything.” 

I must have gotten to him, because he immediately swerved, picked up the papers, and signed them. In a minute or less, he tossed them to me.

“Have your way, I will contact my lawyers immediately, I never wanted to be married to a sister of a murderer in the first place.” 

Okay, now that does it. 

And

Before I knew what was happening my hand was already on his cheek as he writhed in pain.

“How dare you, Alcantara!” 

I shrugged. “I wanted to see if I could slap some sense into you, but I guess it didn’t work.” 

I picked up my copy of the divorce papers and let out a sigh of relief.

I wasn't going to feel suffocated again. 

“I will be out of your life before you know it as I never want to see your face.” 

He stared at me in shock and remained quiet.

“The next time I see you, Pascal, I will make sure you pay for what you have done to me and my brother.”

With that, I walked out of his office and never turned back. 

When I had left the entire building, tears began to fall from my eyes uncontrollably and to make matters worse, it felt like the universe wanted to cry with me as it began to rain heavily. 

I couldn’t contain the anger I felt and the pain from such heartbreak. 

I was about to cross the road when I heard a loud horn and all I could see were lights. 

Just then I felt a sharp pain in my legs and before I knew what was happening, I was on the ground feeling the rain beating me. 

I struggled to keep my eyes open but I couldn’t.

I had just been hit.

 Was I going to die? 

No one answered my questions and slowly and gradually everything started to turn black.
