Alexei’s POV

Okay.

In my defense, I didn’t plan for it to look this dramatic.

The helicopter part? Yes.

That was intentional.

The rest?

Improvised brilliance.

I had exactly twelve minutes between the last call with Brielle’s legal team and realizing that if I didn’t physically show up, someone in that nightmare of a cliff was going to die.

Probably multiple people.

So I did what any reasonable, non-violent, academically distinguished genius would do.

I emptied my pantry.

The helicopter blades

  • After He Took It All   A New Jason

Brielle’s POVWho would have guessed that transportation in a snowstorm was a bad idea?Well, not me apparently.Snow battered the armored SUV like handfuls of sand thrown from the raging sky. The mountain roads were barely visible anymore, and the headlights carved narrow tunnels through the white covering ahead of us.But inside the vehicle, the silence brewing among us was worse than all of that.Especially since Jason sat across from me.Or whatever remained of him.His wrists were secured in reinforced cuffs bolted to the seat frame. Axel had insisted on that part. Actually, Axel had insisted on far worse.Yet somehow, Jason didn’t resist. Didn’t speak.Didn’t even look at the restraints. He just stared at his own hands like they weren't his. Like he was trying to remember where they came from.Every now and then his fingers would flex slowly, testing the movement in a subtle, not aggressive manner. Just… curiously.Like a child discovering their body for the first time.Alexei s

  • After He Took It All   Wiped Out

Axel’s POVThe moment Brielle activated that little black remote, everything moved to our advantage in minutes.Jason’s arm spasmed like someone had plugged him straight into a power surge. His grip loosened just enough for Brielle to drop from his hold, landing hard on her feet as she staggered backward, coughing up for more air.And as she placed both hands on her knees to regain herself, all hell broke loose around us.Jason’s arm jerked violently again.Metal joints clicked against themselves with a terrifying grinding sound. The silver glow in his eye flickered rapidly, like a broken lightbulb struggling to stay on without going off completely.“What—did—you—do?” he snarled, his voice glitching through the words. But instead of Brielle to answer him, she just pressed another button, her eyes as cold as the smile on her lips. And within seconds, a sharp electronic pulse ripped through the chalet itself. And soon, every soldier in the room stood frozen with wide eyes. Not the kind

  • After He Took It All   KillSwitch To Your Little Games

Brielle’s POVI watched as the helicopters disappeared into the clouds like they’d never been there.Snow drifted slowly past the windows of the chalet, thick flakes spiraling down from the sky. From the outside, the place still looked peaceful; warm lights glowing through the glass alongside the smoke still curling lazily from the chimney. It'd have been the perfect vacation from all these havoc, but unfortunately, that thought was snatched away when I saw the men approaching now.I stepped away from the kitchen counter and grabbed one of the knives from the block. Not because I needed a knife. But because I needed my hands to have a grasp of something—anything that could catch them off guard in the most unpredictable situations ahead.Alexei moved beside me, his expression calm but the frequent darting of his eyes said otherwise. I mean, I haven't heard him crack a joke in the last twenty minutes now.“Eight,” he muttered under his breath like he couldn't believe it.“Unfortunately,

  • After He Took It All   Long Time No See, Brother

Axel’s POVThe first helicopter whooshed through the valley like a breeze. And before I knew what was happening, the second one appeared in sight. And then the third. The rotors boomed across the mountains, sending loose snow spiraling off the ridge lines. They flew low—too low for someone that could end us from the air—and far too calculated for them to be called amateurs.“Visual confirmed,” one of my snipers murmured through the comm.I adjusted the scope. The helicopters swept over the pine forest and slowed above the clearing near the chalet. Then, my finger rested gently against the trigger.“Hold fire,” I ordered in a low tone, watching as the helicopters hovered for a little bit before they finally slid their doors open for an entrance. And soon, they started to drop down into the snow one after another, landing perfectly with a soft thud.My eyes narrowed through the scope, counting the numbers.Eight.Fully armored eight men.Shit. Why does this feel wrong?Their sleek black

  • After He Took It All   They Fell For It

Brielle's POVThe Alps were incredibly quiet for a break-in that just happened hours back. Only the whoosh of the wind moving through endless white mountains, and the slow creak of wooden beams drifted through the atmosphere. However, that wasn't what was on my mind right now.I had something more strategic in mind. The chalet. It was at the mountainside, surrounded by towering pines buried under thick covering of snow. From a distance, it looked like something out of a magazine, with warm lights pouring through the windows, smoke curling lazily from the chimney. It was the definition of what a safe space would look like. Of a peaceful vacation for tourists.Exactly the illusion we wanted.I stood near the window, watching the snow drift down the rooftops in lazy spirals. If anyone was watching through a scope right now, this was what they would see:A woman hiding behind a window, looking defenseless and cornered by their tactics.A perfect prey for their perfect strike. However, the

  • After He Took It All   The Bait Is Me

Axel’s POVAlmost immediately, every corridor of the west tower echoed with alarms while security teams flooded the premises, boots thudding against the marbled floors, and comms crackling with overlapping reports.“Sniper position has been confirmed negative.”“Thermal sweep….is in progress.”“Perimeter lock is now engaged.”But I barely heard any of their actual conversations.Because Brielle was standing in the middle of the chaos. And the window behind her was gone. Why didn't I think of bulletproof glass? Why? Just….why?Well, maybe because we're in a freaking castle!Glass covered the floor like thousands of marbles, glittering under the sunlight pouring through the shattered frame. Cold air whipped into the room from the side, tugging at the papers scattered across the desk.I stood there, frozen for a bit, still dazed and shocked at how things had taken a turn. But then like a switch to a lightbulb, I blinked and turned my attention to Brielle.“Move away from the window,” I s
