I stumbled, retreating until my back hit the wall.

“What are you staring at?” Lovie spat, “grab her!”

The inmates charged at me, one grabbed my arms, and the other’s fist connected with my jaw.

I staggered, trying to block the hits as my body ached.

Lovie grabbed my hair, wrapping it around her hands. “From this angle,” she taunted. “You look perfect”

Her grip tightened and slammed my head against hers, rushing to the gates shaking it. “Someone, help! They’re—”

“Yell. Cry, do whatever you want,” she seethed. “No one will save you. You might run Atlas’ heart, but I run this prison”

My hands balled into fists as I turned.

One of the inmates pushed me against the gate and continued their assault while Lovie cheered them on.

My head throbbed, and I crumbled to the ground, blood leaking from my lips as I struggled to push back. I cried as a knee connected with my jaw, breathing heavily.

“Enough,”

They froze at Lovie’s voice. She stepped forward and dragged me up. “What were you saying?”
