Maya POV.

Mona was an emotional wreck when her parents divorced in the first two years.

She kept crying and saying mean things to her Dad because he had won custody of her in court.

In her young mind, she felt he used his lawyer skills to sideline her mom and mess up the situation.

Forgetting that it was her own mom who served the divorce papers first.

She blamed her Dad for their broken family and always ran to stay with her Mom, refusing to come back home.

But immediately her mother gave her the news of her second marriage to Mr. Paul.

She completely changed, like a switch had flipped in her brain. That very night she came back home and hugged her Dad, crying hard and feeling sorry for him.

It took about a year and six months to finalize the divorce, and a few months later, former Mrs. Hopkins was already getting married.
