Sophia's POV I followed Troy to the human world as I had nowhere else to go. I wasn't sure if Troy was trustworthy or not but for now, I was nearly sure he had no reason to make any stupid moves. Far from the werewolf world, distanced from the untamed part of the forest enclosed by large walls lay a vast prosperous land where humans thrived. We were still at a distance but I could see how different our worlds were. The human world seemed more advanced than the werewolf world from the buildings to the outlook. “We're here. Welcome to the largest booming city in the human world - Briston,” he proudly presented. “Wow,” I gasped in awe. My eyes sparkling from beholding the sight. “Home sweet home, if I must say,” he giggled before leading the way. Troy explained that Briston was known for its beauty and its stable economy among other human segmented regions called cities. Their economy, prosperity and population made them stand out. “Do you guys have societies a
“Five people are dead?” Kyra gasped as her heart squeezed in dread.A cold chill raced down her spine because she knew that it would have been six people with her being the sixth person had she not been pulled out of the road on time by Gerald. She owed him her and her baby’s life.“Yes, they were unable to get out of the way quickly enough, they were stepped on by the horses of those mad dogs. There was nothing that could have been done to save them. They died instantly.” Mrs. Agatha’s voice cracked and it looked like she was going to break down.“Oh God,” Kyra’s eyes watered and she slapped her hand over her mouth to stop herself from gagging as the image of mutilated bodies appeared in her mind.“Now, Mrs. Agatha, I know everyone is unhappy about what’s going on but don’t bring Lady Kyra into this.” There was a disapproving frown on Gerald’s face as he tried to stop Mrs. Agatha again, “The alpha king is already working hard to solve this problem. She has nothing to do with all of t
I don’t know why but for some reason, my lips curled in a wicked smile as I watched her reaction. A minute ago, I was scared of spooking her but now, I was enjoying her reaction too much.“I’m sure your fighting instructor will be shocked at the fact you did not notice someone creeping up to you.” I said, rubbing salt on her injury.Surprisingly, she recovered faster than I expected and jumped to her feet. She bowed so low, I was scared that just a little more and she would fall on her face, as she greeted me.“Princess Sophia,”I cocked my head to the side as I stared down at her bent head.“Raise your head. No need to bow so low,”Her head came up so fast I winced, thinking she would get a whiplash. I don’t know why I approached her, I did not know what to say to her either so I turned away and walked to pick the book that she was reading but flung away because of me. I’ve never had the urge to approach anybody to be my friend in her entire time on earth.Joel approached me himself
I fidgeted as I stood in front of the secret passageway that led outside of the palace. Eva had showed me when I first got to the palace and I stored it at the back of my mind knowing fully well that one day I might need it to sneak out of the palace.Like Eva told me in the past, our parents were overprotective and if we ever wanted to step out of the palace, it needed to be very important and we needed a whole lot of bodyguards to be able to do it. I could not blame them for wanting us to be protected at all times though. If I could be kidnapped from the palace by my own nanny, how much more by outsiders.I did not have anywhere I could go to even if I wanted to step out of the palace so my life revolved around going to school and then coming back for my practice. By now, it was boring and tiring. I long to be free like when I was in the human world and lived with Troy. I’ve not stopped going to the garden in school, hoping that Marie will show up one day. She never did so it becam
Eva’s POVThis man, Lord Amias, really did have a smart mind. Too bad I won’t be benefiting from that when I become the queen since I would kill him with my own hands. I’d try to convince him to join my team but I’d never be able to trust him and I need trustworthy people around me. I also did not have the energy to work on him. Maybe I could make Isabel use her magic on him to force him into doing my bidding. Beautiful. A wicked smile appeared on my face at this thought and I was grateful that my head was still bowed so nobody saw me smiling. His point just now was a good one, though I knew that it would be hard, it might really work. If other witches found out that there was a witch that still practices dark magic, they would do anything and everything in their power to get to this witch. This was one of the reasons why Isabel was a loner and after the destruction of her coven, she could not join another one.no one could ever accept her. The only way she would be able to join anoth
Eva’s POVWhere in the name of the moon goddess was Isable when I needed her the most? I’ve been standing here for over two hours, trying to summon her through the black stone she gave me that fateful day years ago when we first met and she rescued me.She had the habit of appearing only when she needed me but not when I needed her. This was really tiring and it was now beginning to bring ideas that I don’t want to dwell on to my head.I heard a thud behind me and quickly twirled around, expecting to see Isabel standing behind me since she also had this habit of trying to spook me. According to her, I needed to be vigilant. My ears need to be on the ground. If not, I’d be killed easily. She did not want a weak partner who could be disposed of easily. There was no one behind me and it made me frown. I was so sure of what I heard. It was as if something dropped behind me. I was inside a dark cave with only the lantern I was holding serving as the source of light. If I was outside in th
