Chapter 4

~Natalie~

I scowled as I thought more about that stupid request.

“Oh, hell to the NO!!! Who does he think he is?!”

The Alpha to be is attractive. It’s something I can’t deny; still, it doesn’t take away the fact that he’s an egotistical manwhore. He sleeps with anything that has a vagina, which means he’s slept with almost every mateless girl in the pack and at school, leaving Evie and me the only girls that he hasn’t touched.

He’s a male wolf with a healthy appetite. ‘He really is. It’s safer if we don’t fall for his charms and catch something from him, Natie?' Zoe giggled. Can't disagree. We may be exaggerating, but this guy knows no boundaries. Besides, he’s not my type, and his title is enough to let you know he shouldn't be messed with. 

Any girl who catches feelings is bound to get hurt because he knows nothing about relationships, and he has a fated mate out there waiting for him. I’m surprised he was in one with Elle. They both deserve each other.

I got up from my bed and headed to the restroom to do my business. When I was done, I went downstairs and found Mom in the kitchen, cooking breakfast.

“Good morning, baby! How’d you sleep?” Mom said in a chirpy tone.

“Great!!! I missed my big bed, comfy blankets, and soft pillows.” I responded, snatching some bacon.

“I bet. Hungry much?” She snorted, watching me stuff the whole bacon in my mouth. I didn’t wake up after all for a snack, so yes, I was starving.

"So, Mom…what do y’all have planned for today?" I asked. The plan is to hang out with my sista from anotha motha.

“We have to head to the pack house. The warriors are having a small meeting, and it’s at eight o’clock. Why do you ask? Are you going for your morning run?” She replied, handing me a plate.

“I was asking because I wanted to hang out with Evie today. If you two don’t mind. I miss her, and yes, I’m going for a run in a bit.” I replied, inhaling the scent of my coffee. 

I loved my morning runs. Nothing is more peaceful than listening to music while running through the woods and connecting with nature.

‘Mmmm.’ Coffee tastes so good. My Dad usually says, “Hey, want coffee to go with your creamer?” I can't help it, I love sweet coffee.

“Sure, honey. Just don’t stay out too late with your old a*s self!” She joked, snorting and throwing her head back laughing. She knows damn well that no matter where I go, I’m home way, way before six. I’m more mature than other people my age. I never, and I mean never, stay out late. I’d rather be in the comfort of my home.

I rolled my eyes and grabbed my empty plate, placing it in the sink. “We may go to the outlets. You know, eat, hang out, and shop. Whatever teenagers do these days, I guess. Don’t worry, I’ll be home early, Mother.” I snorted.

Bummed I didn’t get to say good morning to Dad, I grabbed my shoes, earbuds, phone, and headed straight to the back door, which led to the woods. I searched my playlist, then stretched for a few minutes, and off I went.

Little did I know that my peaceful run would soon turn into a headache.

I fell asleep late last night scrolling through I*******m, waiting for a confirmation, only to wake up early feeling groggy. I headed downstairs to the kitchen after brushing my teeth and washing my face.

The Omegas were usually up early, cooking breakfast for the rest of the warriors and high-ranking wolves. We treated them with respect because everyone played their part to keep this pack going. No one is allowed to disrespect them.

“Good morning, Alpha Christian,” Debra sweetly greeted. She’s our head housekeeper.

She set my plate down on the table and slightly bowed. “Coffee today or orange juice, Sir?” 

“Orange juice today, Dee. Is anyone else up early, or is it just me…again?” I grumbled. 

“Nope, only you today, Sir,” she replied in a sweet tone. I blew my cheeks out. Dee’s a sweetheart, and I’m glad she’s here up and early like me. 

I woke up feeling out of sorts. I wasn’t in the mood today because Natalie never responded to my request, and no girl ever makes me wait.

It’s not like I can take it back. I’m just wondering whether Natalie hasn't seen it or if she’s chosen to ignore it. I hope she didn’t block me. Would she? What the hell am I thinking? I shouldn’t give a damn. I just…want her.

I wolfed down my food, picked up my plate, and headed to the kitchen, where Dee scowled at me. “Alpha, no need for you to bring it in here! That’s what I’m here for, to serve you.” I chuckled. I may be an Alpha, but I’m still a gentleman. 

“Dee, it’s okay, I was going for a run, and I was heading this way.” She sighed, then gave me a kind smile and thanked me. 

I slipped through the back doors that led to the woods. I opted out of going to the gym today since it was a nice day for a run. Nothing is better than nature.

I was running for almost 20 minutes when I sensed another wolf running alongside me. 'A warrior on guard?' No. As I got closer, I realized who it was, and a faint smirk played at the corner of my lips. ‘Well, well, well. Lookie who it is.’ I said archly to Jasper, my wolf.

Since I’m an Alpha, I would get to her first before she sensed me. Alphas have stronger abilities than any of their pack members.

‘Lucky us. I’m quite fond of this one.’ Jasper said earnestly. So am I.

‘Well, let's go say hello. Maybe this is our lucky day.’ I cockily replied. My d*ck stirred with anticipation.

As we got closer to her, she shocked me when she turned around immediately protectively. ‘That was odd.’ I say that because of her status, and she also had her earbuds on. Impossible.

“What the hell, Alpha! What are you trying to do?! Give me a heart attack!” She yelled out, trying to catch her breath, placing a hand on her chest. 

I cackled. “Whoa, baby, no need to become defensive?” I say with a hint of amusement in my voice, raising an eyebrow while my eyes roam her sexy figure. Damn, she is hot in those clothes and sounds f*cking sexy when she’s angry. It was my first time being this up close to her, and let me tell you…Daddy likes.

“Yeah, well…you know better than to sneak up on someone running, Alpha!” She exclaimed angrily, almost irritated. ‘That couldn’t be right?’ I thought to myself as her anger baffled me since I’ve never had any girl react to me with that emotion, but the way she said “Alpha” went straight to my shaft. I smirked, stepping closer to her. I licked my bottom lip and replied, “Natalie, or can I call you Natie? You have my permission to call me, Christian or Chris for short.”

She raised an eyebrow, “Uh, no, Natalie is fine. I’m good, Alpha. It doesn’t sound right to call you by your name; isn't that what we’re supposed to call you? Only my close friends and my parents call me Natie.” 

She narrowed her eyes at me. “Were you stalking me? You can’t just sneak up on someone like that unless you're looking for a butt-whooping, and I say that with no disrespect.” She bemoaned and continued, “I could have thought you were a rogue. You know how rogues don’t follow rules and are ruthless killers.” 

“Have it your way, and I wasn't stalking, Natie. There’s no need for me to chase girls around. I was out for a run today.” I said nonchalantly, not caring that she’d just said not to call her Natie and ignoring her mention of titles. I do what I want. 

“Since you indicated ‘stalking,’ it makes me think you saw my friend request after all. Are you ignoring it? As for the butt-whooping remark, I will spar you any time of the day, sweetheart.” I replied as I sucked my bottom lip, wanting to kiss her yummy, plump lips. If her giving me a “butt-whoopen” as she mentioned can get her underneath me, then let's get down to business.

She sneered. “It’s Natalie, Alpha, and yeah, I saw it, I just chose to ignore it, but now that you’re standing before me…no.” She simply said. 

“No?!” I said a little too loudly, looking dumbfounded. 

“We aren’t friends. You're my Alpha, and we’ve never spoken to each other before. Seventeen years in this pack and you chose to acknowledge me now? What did you expect? Plus, you would be invading my privacy,” she groused.

“Speaking of privacy…you're invading my personal space right now, back off! Don’t think I haven’t noticed you getting closer.” She gritted out, looking pissed, fisting her hands up. 

Her defiance and tone were making me rock hard. The girl had no idea how f*cking cute she looked feisty.

“Damn, baby, why are you getting all riled up? It’s just a friend request, and it’s not just from anyone, but from your future Alpha.” I chuckled, which seemed to provoke her. The frown on her face deepened further.

“Sweetheart, you make it difficult to get close to you, and I wanted to get to know you better before that request. Trust me, you’re eye candy. We have plenty of time to get to know each other if you let me.” I said seductively, biting the corner of my lower lip.

As I inched closer, she backed away until her back hit a tree. “BABY!?” she growled. I leaned forward, inhaling her scent. She smelled like vanilla and something else. Damn, she smelled good. I wanted to kiss her badly, but that thought disappeared when I suddenly felt pain down south. ‘Did she just hit my groin?’ I went down on one knee, holding my jewels to soothe them. 

“You're barking at the wrong tree, Alpha. You act like I’m one of those girls you have luring around when I am nothing like them. I am not attracted to you like they are. You may soon be my Alpha, but even the Alpha has to respect his pack members.” 

She looked down on me, and damn if I wasn’t enamored of her more than ever. I should be pissed right now for her hitting me, but I’d rather have her in my bed. Pounding into that sexy a*s as punishment.

She is so damn sexy. ‘Christian, mate or not, we want her.’ Jasper said with a sensual undercurrent. I couldn’t agree more. ‘She is definitely unique, Jaz. One of a kind.’ I remarked as I saw her curvy-toned body disappear behind the trees. My hands ached to touch her.

There was no doubt in my mind that Natalie Adams would be mine.
