Chapter 43: A change of heart
Later, the men went into the living room for another round of scotch. Not wanting to be anywhere near Haden, I opted to stay in the kitchen and wash the dishes instead, listening to Leo and Haden wind each other up in a weird sort of forced civil rivalry.
Just as I was finishing drying the final few dishes, Leo joined me in the kitchen and stood behind me.
"Thanks for clearing up," he said, kissing my cheek.
