Chapter 2

EVA'S P.O.V.

I looked at my father as he stood, there was a smile on his face. Was this his intention all along? To sell me off? 

“Take her to the car, Lowel." His deep voice made shivers run down my spine as he looked towards the man a few steps away from me.

“Let's go.” Lowel mumbled towards me and I nodded my head quietly.

I couldn't bring myself to look at him as my eyes filled with tears, but I knew he was watching me as I walked. I always had a hope that someday he was going to realize what he was doing to me but just like always, he had proven me wrong. 

“Make yourself comfortable.” Lowel gave me a warm smile as he opened the door for me to walk in, and I stared blankly at him “... Come on get in.” he urged, and I immediately walked into the car then he shut the door. 

Alpha Mark's scent lingered around the car, which caused me nothing but discomfort. His name gave me chills as I recalled all the stories of him that I've been told. My life was going to be ruined. 

My chance of leaving was just a little, and the fact that I was going to be with him gave me an assurance that I was as good as dead. 

Soon enough, the car started to move as I kept deliberating on what my life will be outside the walls of this pack. He was ruthless, his arousal was beyond my imagination and yet, his face was calm, which made my thoughts scattered into pieces.

I had a bad feeling about all this as fear gripped my heart, knowing I was going to my downfall. Though I've never met Alpha Mark in person until now. 

If I had a chance, I'll say he is a mad man considered to be wicked, for I was yet to understand why he would kill his father for power. I was alone in the car along with the driver, but Lowel and Alpha Mark were in the next car. 

The car suddenly came to a halt, which made me confused, and the driver walked out of the car, which made me more confused. What's going on?

The door at my left suddenly upon and his scent hit me like tons of blocks which made me swallow hard as a shift uncomfortable on the chair, but he sat down as though nothing was going on with a frown on his face.

“Why did your father sell you off?” I swallowed as he asked, but I had no answer to his question, “… Look at…” He trailed off as I raised my head to look at him, but his eyes were looking behind me, “… Look out!” He pulled my head down as I heard a loud crash and the last thing I saw was a piece of glass flying towards my eyes.

My eyes flew open, and I looked around to find myself in an unfamiliar room. I tried to recall what had happened as my head ached so badly, and I reached for the glass of water before taking a gulp. 

Where was I?

Standing up from the bed, the door flew open, and his scent made its way to my nostrils which made me freeze in my spot and I felt his stare burn holes in my back.

“Yvonne get her ready.” He mumbled and left the room, but I knew that someone was still in the room with me.

“Look here, woman, I rule this place and I do not enjoy whores like you scattering my work. Get dressed in something and get yourself to the Alpha's room in five minutes, or you will be dead!” She yelled at me before walking out of the room angrily.

Did I do something wrong?

Blending within them wasn't going to be easy as I thought. I sighed as I walked towards the bathroom to take a bath and when I was done, I realized a dress on the bed which made me furrow my eyebrows in confusion and I saw a note that stated for me to wear it.

I picked the dress that I found very hard to fit in, as my hip didn't fit. Tears filled my eyes as I pressed against the wounds with my dress, why were the clothes so tight? I finally fit in and wore a pair of slippers before I walked out. 

Everyone kept staring at me in a weird way as I tried to find the office. His scent was everywhere, so it was hard to trace him that way. 

Could this day get any worse?

“What are you looking for?” I jumped as a familiar voice whispered in my ear and I turned to see Lowel with a small smile on his face.

“The Alpha's room.”

“Go straight, the third room by your left.” I nodded gently as I walked according to his direction.

Something about the man was strange, but I couldn't tell what it was. I knocked gently on the door and I heard his voice on the other side of the door, which made me tremble, and I pushed the door open making his scent hit me so hard that I held on to the door for support.

“Shut the door.” I did as he said but as I turned I noticed he was right in front of me completely shirtless scaring me to death. “... I didn't bring you here to be my slave, Eva. You'll be my mistress for two months, and after that we will never cross paths again unless you want to be killed.” 

“Yes.” I mumbled as his bare chest was making it hard for me to concentrate on anything.

“Look at me.” His voice sounded like music to my ears as his hands suddenly reached for my chin, and he raised my head to meet his piercing blue ones.

My eyes traveled slowly to his lips and I tried to look away from him, but he turned my face back to him. 

“You make it hard to be away.” 

“I…" He placed his lips on mine and my body didn't hesitate to return the gesture. 

My wolf pounced around in my head as my body felt like it was on fire, his touches were irresistible and out of a sweet scent of Lava and pine cone filled my nostrils, which made a smile creep its way to my face.

“Mate.” my wolf whispered to me and realization hit me.

Alpha Mark was my mate.
