Chapter 4

Nathan:

I watched as Katerina entered the house after her conversation with mom. Her eyes were fixed on the ground as she avoided looking at anyone. Her curly hair covering her face, not revealing her expression.

My beta and best friend, Carter, walked up to me with a glass of whiskey in his hand “loosen up, it’s your wedding ceremony”

“Shut up before I rip that tongue out of your throat” I said, taking the glass from him. I took a sip from the glass before placing it on the arm rest, running my finger over the top of it as I looked at the dancing crowd.

“Where’s your bride?” He asked, nodding at her empty chair. In tradition, my wife should have been by my side throughout the whole evening until the two of us went back to the room while everyone partied. Eventually, the house would be empty by morning, leaving the two of us alone, giving us our privacy.

“Probably locking herself up in the bedroom, crying for the ‘fate’ that has been forced on her” I said, rolling my eyes. Her poor, weak girl attitude was one that I despised. Carter laughed, shaking his head at my response. He ran his fingers through his curly hair, removing it from his face as he looked at me.

“Cut the girl some slack, she just arrived here and you’re already hating her” the man knew for fact why I disliked her. The idea of having another Alpha’s daughter was not something that I wanted, especially since he was my enemy and she used to be his beta. 

“At least I’m being honest about it” I said, shrugging my shoulders. I gulped down the whole drink, watching as the girls started calling their mates in to dance. I nodded at Carter whose mate started shaking her hips, waiting for him to notice her “it seems like your woman wants to seduce you”

“At least her seduction has blood traveling where I want it to go” Carter smirked, looking at his mate who was calling him to join her. His eyes were fixed on her for a few seconds, admiring her, giving her the chance to seduce him like she wanted.

“Too much information, Carter” I shook my head at the man, laughing when he approached his woman, his bulge already obvious through his pants. I shook my head at my pack members, watching as they enjoyed MY mating ceremony while I sat on the chair, waiting for this night to end. If anyone had told me that this was going to be how my wedding ceremony was going to be years ago, I would have punched him in the face, but seeing what I was living, I wanted nothing more than to get out of here.

The house’s door opened again and I frowned in confusion when I saw Katerina walking out with two cups in her hand. She smiled at me, handing me one of them before taking a seat by my side on her chair. I stared at the cup for a second, waiting for her to explain what it was she was doing “in our ceremonies, a Luna makes her Alpha a cup of coffee or tea during the ceremony. You mother told me that you preferred your coffee brewed, and that is what took me a while, I apologize”

I looked at the cup in my hand before handing it to her, getting up from my chair. She tensed, holding both hers and mine in her hands, looking at me with wide eyes “keep your fucking traditions to yourself. You are part of THIS pack from now on, you best start getting used to it”

“I am trying to be nice” she said, standing up from her seat. She placed the cups on her chair behind her before standing in front of me, daring to face me “please, stop making this difficult”

Taking the situation, the pack members stopped playing their drums. Their eyes widening in fear for the woman who dared face their Alpha. A low growl escaped my chest, and grabbing her arm, I pulled her inside the house. The force of my grip made her wince as she tried preying her arm from my hand. I growled in anger, wanting her to stop as we entered the house. 

I pushed her forward, watching as she almost tripped before catching her balance. She turned to face me, her canines exposed as she challenged me. I exposed my own, growling at her to submit, taking a step toward her, towering her body “you are to fucking submit to your Alpha, do you understand me?”

“I am not your slave” I growled, grabbing her by her neck. Her heart raced under my palm and I was sure not to press on her neck, not wanting to choke her. I knew that everyone outside was worried about the woman’s state, but if she was to cross her limits; I would know how to deal with her accordingly. 

“I am your Alpha, and whether you like it or not, you WILL fucking submit” I said, leaning closer to her. Her eyes hardened as she returned my glare, our breaths mixing “your job is to submit and mine is to fuck you until you’ve given me a child. The two of us will NEVER be anything that you would…”

Her lips came in contact with my own before I could finish what I was about to say, stopping me from completing my sentence. I tightened my grip around her neck for a second, deepening the kiss before pulling away to look her in the eye. 

“Go up to the bedroom and wait for me” I said, letting her go. Her eyes widened as she coughed to catch her breath. I walked out of the house, listening to her footsteps as she ran up the stairs, entering the bedroom. 

“Complete your ceremony, we won’t be joining you for the rest of the evening”
