Amelia’s POV
I was a toddler when Mommy told me we were going on an adventure, and Daddy would come to find us later. The only thing I remember from that night; I screamed for my Daddy; he would always come and fight the scary monsters in my dreams away so I could fall back to sleep.
I wipe the tears from my eyes as I look down at my mom. It’s been 15 years, and we only have each other. She thinks I’m strong and independent as she is, but I know better, I’m still a broken little girl deep inside, still waiting for her Daddy to find her. The doctor’s voice finally reaching my ears, “her surgery went well, it’s all a waiting game now, we’ll know more when she wakes up.”
I nodded as I stared at her sleeping form, her head wrapped in bandages, her right arm and leg clad in casts and monitors with all types of reading on them. Her body had been brutalized when the bus hit her, how she survived it is a miracle, “when will she wake up.”
He shook his head, “that’s up to her and how fast she heals, but she’s strong, I’ll check in on her later,” I didn’t watch him walk out and just stared at her.
I sighed, as I held her hand gently, looking at the needle secured to it, “Momma, you need to wake up, you don’t want him to find you, not like this,” I whispered. I still want to hold on to the hope that he hasn’t forgotten us, that he does love and miss us, that he’s still looking. I kissed her gently on her forehead, “I’ll see you after work, don’t run away on me, stay put.”
I walked out of the hospital and tried not to fall on the slippery sidewalks covered in thin ice as I walked the 3 miles to the café. Pulling off my coat and boots, I pulled out my flat shoes and smiled up at Josephine, “morning, it’s horrible out there, think we’ll get any customers in this shit.”
She smiled, “I hope so, how’s she doing today?”
I shook my head, “same as yesterday, no improvements whatsoever, but I keep hoping.”
She arched her brow, “and the lawsuit any news?”
I finished the set up for fresh coffee, “getting close, I’m praying it will cover the medical costs, or I’ll be working the rest of my life and dying in debt to that hospital,” I smirked.
I took a cleaning rag and walked to the door, flipping the sign to open and began to wipe down the tables when the door opened, and the sound of the chimes rang out. I lifted my head, looking towards the door, a tall man in a dark raincoat and hat stood there motionless, his dark blue eyes staring directly at me. He moved in my direction and as my heart hammered in my chest, it stopped as he removed his coat and sat in a booth, picking up a menu and not sparing me another glance. I sighed heavily and scolded myself, “it’s not him, it never is.”
I took a deep cleansing breath and pulled out my ticket book and approached, “hi, coffee this morning to warm you up?”
He smiled as he looked at me, “that sounds really good, it’s cold out there today, nasty weather really no one should be out in this, don’t you agree?”
I chuckled, “I do, but then here we are, I’ll be right back with that coffee and take your order.”
I placed his coffee in front of him as he typed on his phone, he held it in his hand as he ordered, he was well dressed in a business suit and his mannerisms were well above our little café. I placed his breakfast order in front of him and refilled his coffee, “anything else you need,” I smiled.
He looked up at me, his phone in his hand, “your name would be nice, you’re not wearing a name tag.”
“Trixie, I’ll be right behind the counter if you need anything before I come back to check on you,” I nodded and walked away as a familiar feeling ran through me, I turned to look at him again, but there was nothing that stood out.
A chill ran down my spine as I entered the hospital, it happens sometimes when the heat hits you and you’re a human popsicle from the cold. I entered the elevator only to see the man from the café earlier, his dark blue eyes staring at me as he asked the security at the desk for “Catalina Caswell’s room number.”
I entered my mom’s room and sat, staring at the door waiting, he used her real name, not the one on all her identification. Maybe I’m over thinking this, or maybe the bus company found out she’d changed her name trying to get out of compensation for hitting her.
I fell off to sleep as I held her hand, I woke up screaming, “Daddy, Daddy!” as if I was a small child and clamped my mouth shut, wiping the tears from my eyes as I lifted my head towards my mom, “I’m so stupid,” I whispered in the silent room, “he doesn’t care or he’d of found us by now,” I sobbed like I’ve done a million times, my hands covering my face, “we just weren’t good enough to hold his love,” I whimpered.
I jumped at the sound of a deep baritone voice coming from my side, “you’re my world and I’ve missed you for too long now my sunshine, you and your Mommy.”
I stared at the man kneeling on the floor next to my chair, his eyes were the color of my own and glistening with tears. His smile was familiar and warm and the urge to just wrap myself around him was overwhelming. I wiped at the snot that was dripping from my nose with the back of my hand, and he chuckled, “you still don’t use a tissue, that’s how you got pink eye, do you remember that."
“Do I know you?” I asked because I need to know if I’m looking at who I think I am.
His smile bent downward, and he sighed, “it’s been too long, too many years have been stolen from me,” he looked at my mother’s sleeping form, “too many years wasted over something that wasn’t real,” he looked back at me. He gave me a small smile, “you use to call me Daddy,” he cupped my face, “I’ll still answer to that…”
I didn’t allow him to finish his sentence before my arms flew around his neck and fell onto his lap, my tears flowed, “you found us, oh Daddy.”
Amelia’s POV An incredible feeling coursed through my body, a mixture that could only be described as euphoria had my knees weakened. I felt his grip on me tighten and power swell within me, my body shivered as my eyes fluttered open. His words were clear as he announced, “My Blood Moon Luna has arrived.”I smiled as he moved from me as howls and clapping flooded my ears. He took my hand as he spun me in front of him, slipping his arms around my waist, we were surrounded by our pack, in the middle of town. I leaned back into him, biting my bottom lip, realizing we had shared our most intimate moment with everyone here, and nodded to many of them; my cheeks were so heated I knew they were red. My eyes swept the crowd, and I saw Veronica, her chest was heaving with envy and a small smile curled on my lips as my eyebrow shot up at her. Lilly’s voice came from my side, “What does it feel like to be the Blood Moon Luna and be marked?” she wiggled her brows. He kissed my temple and
Alpha Nico’s POV I stared into her eyes as if this was a dream, she’s not really here and if she is, she’s not going to say the one word I’ve been wanting to hear from her sweet pink lips. I watched with eager anticipation only to hear Veronica’s squeaky voice ring out, “Alpha Nico, your safe, thank the goddess.” My eyes never left those beautiful blue ones, which kept me captivated until they were gone. I took a step back and heard the word, MINE being growled from my left side and as if by magic Spitfires back was slamming into my front. Her words boomed out of her with so much venom and an aura seeped out of her with so much strength I stepped back.Veronica’s words landed on my ears like a weight, “he rejected you,” was all I heard and then Amelia’s aura weakened, and I knew what I needed to do.I wrapped my arms around her waist and leaned into her ear, taking back my rejection. She spun, and I felt the bond snap once again as I stared into her blue eyes and the warmth that
Amelia’s POV 97He is not humming at me as if I’m a piece of meat and he is deciding whether he is hungry or not, Harmony’s voice echoed in my mind, “stop and just say what you wanted to say and see if he reacts, you may have hurt our mate too much now, don’t push it.”I gulped, she was right I had hurt him, pushed him into rejecting me and he may not truly want me now, he did send me away. My eyes roamed his glistening wet body, seeing his gashes almost completely healed. My eyes locked with his and I hadn’t realized just how close I was to him. A smile curled on my lips as I now see the sparkle back in those gorgeous blue eyes, the ones that only a few days ago held nothing. I steadied myself as my lips parted and my voice about to bellow out, when a female’s voice came from behind me, “Alpha Nico you’re okay, thank the goddess.” His eyes never left mine but then I felt myself being pushed out of the way and a growl left my throat as I glared at Veronica launching her body towar
Lilly’s POV I needed all this to end, I needed to remove Hera from the living, but for me to kill her would only push me into the darkness. I paced back and forth in Amy’s room trying to think of a way I could remove her but not actually kill her by my own hands. I can’t remove the darkness that is already embedded in her heart and soul, and she knows too much magic for me to just remove it. I continued to pace when Amy walked in and sat on the bed.She tilted her head to me and smiled, “what’s got you thinking so hard?”I sat down next to her, “Hera, I can’t kill her, or I’ll lose who I am,” she nodded, “I don’t know what to do with her, you can kill all the others, but I want so badly to end her life, and I can’t risk it,” I looked at her pleadingly. She patted my knee, “I know, if you do kill her then you’ll destroy your own heart and soul,” she shook her head, “giving her exactly what she wants, you to turn to the dark side.” She stood, “what if you bind her powers, then she
Alpha Nico’s POVMy plan was working as I walked in front of Hera and her minions, thinking of Amelia how much happier she’ll be now put a small smile on my face. If there wasn’t a bond, she would have killed me with her bare hands if given the chance. I was only a few feet from the cliff’s edge when I turned looking at Hera, “you gave me your word you will leave my pack alone; you will not harm another.”She cackled, “you’re such a fool do you honestly believe that I won’t destroy all of them, those pups,” she pointed her finger towards the pups that were surrounded by a few witches, “they will be the firsts to go, once I have my fun with you, you will not leave here alive and neither will any of your kind.” She threw her hand out in my direction, and suddenly I was dodging icicles as they sliced through my skin, leaving large gashes. I heard whimpering and my eyes went to the pups as they all watched on in horror.I stood from the ground and laughed, “that’s all you got, you’ll
Amelia’s POV Sitting on the couch watching, we watched as the witches in the field began wielding fire balls at the homes and pack house. I shook my head, “we need to leave, get ready everyone.”I rose from the couch taking Lilly with me, “promise me you are being truthful, promise me you are not trying to harm him, tell me and I will believe you,” my eyes were staring into her, watching for any sign of deceit. She sighed, “at first yes, I wanted the Alpha and you knew that, but I didn’t know you were my twin, not right away, but then I felt it and, our connection was strong in every way, even when everyone else believed I tried to kill you, you didn’t really believe I had.”I smirked, “you’re right I never thought you meant to kill me, and you know I can feel what is in your heart as you can feel mine.”She frowned, “Hera will kill him now and not just capture him.”I nodded, “we need to get there Lilly, I’ve gained much needed knowledge and strength, be the sister you need to be
