Chapter 3

A hundred elite warriors shifted instantly. The rogues, who had been so brutal in my past life, didn't stand a chance.

Two minutes later, corpses littered the ground.

The warriors stepped over the bodies and dragged the only survivor—the rogue leader—to me.

In my past life, he was the one who ripped my baby out of me.

"On your knees!" Emma shattered his kneecap with a kick.

The leader screamed and collapsed into the mud, trembling violently.

I walked over and ground my boot into his bloody hand. "Who sent you?"

The wolf bared his teeth, trying to act tough. "No one... We were just hungry..."

"Hungry?" I sneered, plunging my silver dagger into his abdomen without hesitation. "Hungry enough to accurately navigate past the eighteen defense lines of the Northern Territory?"

Emma pressed the tip of her blade against his eyeball. "One last chance. Spill it, or I'll skin you alive and turn you into a rug right now."

"Don't! Don't kill me!" Fear finally broke him. He screamed, "It was Sophia! It was that woman!"

"Sophia isn't a Seer at all!" To save his own skin, the rogue spilled everything. "She's our mole inside the Pack! The previous attacks were all staged!"

"We coordinated with her. She'd pretend to predict the attack, we'd show up, and then we'd retreat... It was all a setup to get the Alphas to trust her!"

"She gave us the map for this ambush too! She said if we killed you sisters, she could take over as the Luna!"

Emma and I fell silent.

So that was the truth.

In my last life, Evan and Lucas let me, my sister, and the children be torn to shreds by rogues, all for the sake of this spy.

My phone buzzed in my pocket.

I pulled it out. A new Instagram notification popped up from Sophia.

In the photo, Sophia was wearing a hospital gown, leaning weakly against the headboard, looking perfectly pale and fragile.

Sitting on either side of the bed were two men—Evan and Lucas.

They were holding fruit knives, patiently peeling apples, their eyes dripping with tenderness.

The caption read: [Everything hurts, but with the world's two best Alphas protecting me, I'm not afraid of anything. Love you both. ]

I glanced at the wolf corpses scattered across the ground.

At this exact moment in my past life, my sister and I were being devoured.

And our mates were peeling apples for the murderer.

"How touching." Emma leaned over to look at the screen and laughed in pure anger. "I think I'm gonna puke."

Just then, Evan's voice echoed through the mind-link.

"Aria, where are you?" He sounded guilty.

"On my way to the checkup," I said flatly.

"Listen..." Evan paused. "I need to ask you something. Let's push today's appointment to tomorrow."

"Why?"

"Sophia took a turn for the worse. You know she drained herself for the Pack."

"The Pack only has one Head Healer. Her situation is critical, so I have to prioritize her."

Stealing my doctor.

And endangering my life.

"Evan." I looked down at the rogue leader still begging for mercy at my feet, my voice cold as ice. "Do you honestly think a liar playing pretend needs emergency help more than your wife who is five months pregnant?"

"Aria!"

Evan's voice spiked in anger. "Why are you being so unreasonable? Who did Sophia do this for? For us!"

"She is vital to the Pack! Her visions have saved us so much trouble. As the Luna, can't you be a little more gracious?"

"Visions?"

I finally couldn't hold it back. I laughed out loud.

"Listen closely, Evan."

"Emma and I were just ambushed by rogues. We caught the leader. He confessed. Your precious Sophia isn't a Seer. She's a mole for the rogues."

"Every single warning before was staged. It was all an act so she could infiltrate the Pack."

Dead silence.

Three seconds passed.

Then Evan exploded, his voice trembling with rage. "Aria! Have you lost your mind?! You're making up these sick lies to slander Sophia just because you're jealous?"

"A mole? Staged? Do you have any idea how many lives her visions have saved?"

"I never thought you could be this petty... Jealous, lying, and completely intolerant!"

"Sophia is in a coma right now, and you're dragging her name through the mud?"

"I'm so disappointed in you. You don't deserve to be the Luna!"

My heart turned to ice. I didn't have the energy to argue with him anymore.

What was the point of talking to a man who was blind to the truth?

"Fine," I said calmly. "Then let's sever the bond."
