Chapter 6

The moment her words fell, Evan and Lucas screamed in unison.

The mate bonds inside us were forcibly severed.

Their faces turned paper-white instantly. They clutched their chests, vomited blood, and dropped to their knees.

Emma and I had taken a witch's suppression potion beforehand, so we didn't suffer much backlash.

Evan looked up, trembling, cold sweat dripping down his face.

Panic, unlike anything he had ever felt, finally consumed him.

"No... Aria..." Evan knelt on the ground, blood dripping from his mouth.

His trembling hand reached out, trying to grasp the hem of my dress.

"You can't... How could you actually reject me? I'm your mate... We have a child..."

A child?

Now you remember you have a child?

I stood at the edge of the cliff, staring at him coldly.

Beside him, Lucas was in even worse shape.

His eyes were bloodshot, and he couldn't even stand due to the agonizing pain.

"Emma! Don't you dare! You've taken this too far. Take back your rejection right now, and I'll pretend this never happened!"

"Roar—!!"

In that suffocating moment of standoff, dozens of massive rogues rushed out from behind the rocks.

"Ah—!!" The Pack members who were watching the drama scattered in panic.

"Help! Evan! Lucas!"

A shrill, helpless scream pierced the air. It was Sophia.

A massive one-eyed rogue was lunging at her with its bloody maw wide open.

If Evan and Lucas had stopped to observe calmly for just a few seconds, they would have seen that the rogue's attack was sloppy and full of openings.

But they couldn't calm down.

Protecting Sophia had become a reflex over the last few months.

"You touch her, you die!!" Evan and Lucas shifted almost instinctively! They didn't even care that the pain of the severed bond had left their wolves weak.

A black wolf and a silver wolf pounced on the one-eyed rogue.

Evan, the black wolf, slammed into the rogue with full force.

Lucas followed close behind, biting down on the rogue's scruff and hurling it heavily toward the cliff.

They both let out a sigh of relief when they saw Sophia was safe.

But the next second, they turned back to look at Emma and me, and their eyes widened in pure horror.

Emma and I were standing right at the edge of the cliff. The massive body of the rogue they had thrown slammed into us, knocking us off the edge!

The moment my body went airborne, I saw Sophia clutching her chest, still pretending to tremble in fear.

But at an angle Evan and Lucas couldn't see, she shot me a sinister smirk and mouthed two words: "Go die."

"No—!!!!"

Evan's scream was filled with gut-wrenching terror.

He and Lucas charged madly toward the cliff, trying to grab Emma and me.

But it was too late.

My sister and I clung to each other. She wrapped her arms tightly around my belly to protect it as we plummeted toward the raging sea.

Evan and Lucas let out howls of absolute despair.

I looked at him, smiled, and clearly mouthed:

Evan, Goodbye.
