Chapter 11 Danger

“ Dad where’s mom?” I consciously ask my father. But his feature change as I tried to take a deep look.

“Your not my father who are you?” I screamed his gaze frightened me as if his ready to attack me anytime. “ Who are you?” I shouted when my heart beat so fast I can’t breath but I feel a warm embrace I couldn’t instantly see who it was but he was able to put me at ease. I can’t control my tears, my body was shaking.

“ It ok I’m here” this voice I know it, I look at him with a teary eye. “ Lace? You’re here?” A bright smile plastered in his face. Lace is my best friend ever since we knew each other back when I was in a orphanage his father own the foundation so we become so close like siblings.

“ Do you miss me? “ he ask and I nodded with a smile of excitement. He tap my head like what he usually do back then. “ still having that nightmare? “ Lace ask. I was in total silence as I remember my dream it’s way different, is this a hint about something I’m confused.

“ Hey are you listening” Lace ask as he snap his finger. “ Yeah I’m listening” I replied.

“ ok then get up we’ll be having fun today” he said as he pull me out from the bed. “ well actually I have a very important case to solved and I’ll be conducting my investigation today so I can’t make it today” I stated his expression change. “ with who?” He ask, “ with a colleague of course” I answer him without making any eye contact.

“ Can I come?” he instantly ask with a puppy eye. “ literally not” you can’t just come Lace let’s set the date by next week I will lend time for you” I answered.

I’m in a hurry so I just left Lace in the condo. I’m on my way to El Víamonte Residence, Stan provided the exact location to me I forget to contact Steele since I left my phone at the condo. But anyway it doesn’t matter. While I was on my way I feel something strange it seems someone has been following me. I look at the side mirror of my car but found nothing. I’m just driving my way to the villa when I bumped something along the way.

“ Shit what was it!?” I exclaimed and open the cars door to head outside. As I walk towards the front surface of my car I noticed a stain of blood on the ground as well so I head towards the back of my car and see what I bumped into. “ Gosh it’s just a deer” I said and exhale. “ You’re here Anna” that voice startle my whole system. I turned my head to look who’s at the back. Before I could even turn around I hard thing hit my head and I slumped on the floor my eyes where blurry and I lost sense.

“ Hey Anna, long time no see” a unfamiliar voice awaken me from unconsciousness I can barely see him my eyes is still blurry I tried to moved but I was tied up in the chair. “ Who are you?” I unconsciously ask the man in front of me. “ I’m a monster that will soon leave inside you” he replied. I felt his hand touch my skin that give me goosebumps his long sharp nail point deeper into my neck I feel the pain but I was stunned when he lick his nails that was covered with my blood. Is he another type of immortal being again? “ Steele where are you” I whisper in silent while closing my eye. I felt a splash of wind that cover me. It was a big Gray and furry wolf in front of me it’s head turn in my direction, his deep blue eyes turned the moon into fire. Despite how his appearance change I know who he is. He turned back to the other man in front of him. He growl out of anger then the man who attempted to attack me was terrified and run out of no where.

“ Steele” I utter while catching my breath I don’t know what with that monster nails but I feel breathless. Steele change his appearance into human and approach me without wasting any second his lips collided mine. That sweetness and softness of his lips bring me into life again I feel relieve.

“ Are you ok?” he asks and I nodded. “I told you this is a trap, you cannot trust my brother” he mumble in anger. “ But he is not Stan right? “ I ask , he was wordless for a moment then look straight into my eyes he hold my shoulder tight as if something bad might happen to me. “ You can’t trust any one” that is his only word then he release my hand from being tied. “ Let’s go” he said then hold my hand I didn’t move so he look at me in question. “ how about the investigation” I replied. “ This investigation can be done next time but not now don’t risk your life for something unworthy.” He mumbled. “ This is not unworthy it’s about my life and the mystery of my past I’m already here I don’t want to waste time.” I exclaimed. “ Listen to me Amber I will help you so trust me don’t rush things out your safety is more important than solving that mystery, so listen to me!!!” he blurted in anger. “ ok calm down I won’t argue with you, let’s go” I replied and smirk “ I know you can’t stay calm seeing I’m in danger.” I murmured. “What did you say?” He ask “ Oh nothing” I replied then smiled.

“ I called your number but someone answered it” he said while we’re heading in towards my car. “ Yeah I left my phone at home, it was Lace that answer the phone call I guess” I replied he pause for a second then turn in my direction. “ Who is Lace?” He ask with an interrogating face. “ What? Don’t tell me your..” I exclaimed in shock as I realized something. “ I’m not jealous” he defend himself. “ I did not say you are, but it seems you really are. Your reaction speak up dude” I replied and smirk.

We get inside the car and Steele is the one who drive it back to the town. He take me home and when I got home Lace is no longer there. I walked directly to the bathroom to take a shower. I look at my image naked in the front of a mirror and I noticed the scar cause by that unknown creature in the villa. The scar is way different it seems to look like a tattoo a ancient tattoo that assemble in my neck. I wash my body to take off all the dirt. After taking a bath I headed to the bed I just cover myself with a towel then slowly closing my eyes it hot outside and I feel that I was burning inside.

Steele pov

I was calling Amber’s number but a different voice respond. “ Hello who is this?” he ask so I end the call directly. We will supposed to investigate at the El Víamonte Residence today but she didn’t even contact me. I was just sitting in the sofa looking at the portrait hang in the wall. “ As always even in a simple painting your beauty is evident” I said to myself while looking at Anna’s portrait. I was just in silent when I felt a sudden pain in my chest. “ What’s happening ugh…” I murmured out of pain the last time I felt this way is when Anna was. “ Amber, oh my Amber is in danger” I exclaimed an immediately search for her the pain will help me to locate her. I headed directly to the my car, if I’m not mistaken she’s already there. I drove the car as fast as I can it flew a way like flash without wasting any minutes I arrive at the place where the investigation should be conducted. Far from the house I smell something different it’s not Amber it’s different. I walked towards a car which is a meter away from the villa and I recognize it. “ She’s already here” I said in silent. I carefully walk inside the villa, I search within the house I followed Amber scent and come across a passage in where I see a shadow not of a werewolf but a vampire as I walk closer I saw Amber she was tied in a chair. I can’t just stand here and watch at him. I run towards them and evolved into a werewolf. My silver-gray fur and deep blue eyes turned the moon to fire for his doings provoke me. I cover Amber behind my back as I growl towards the attacking vampire. He was stunned to see me. I look at Amber she’s unconscious I look at again the vampire and as I was about to attack him he run away. I was not expecting there still alive. The moment he run away I turned back into my human feature and go to amber immediately. I did not waste any second and kisses her this is the only way to bring back her strength.

After saving Amber from danger we head back to her condo to assure she’s safe. I called Stan to talk about what happened. I was waiting sitting and looking at Anna’s portrait again when I feel someone from behind was approaching me.

“ Did you set it up?” I question the person behind then slowly turn my head I saw Stan giving a killer smile. “ I don’t have time to prepare, so it’s not me.” Stan replied to defend himself. “ It’s not a werewolf Stan, it’s been 400 years since the last time I saw vampire. But this time it’s trying to attack Amber. They never know Ana unless….” “ unless I told them so? Is that what you to say. It’s not my fault Steele if they found out something about Ana and there’s nothing you should be afraid of Amber is not Ana and the Black shadow will not care. Amber is not your mate either so nothing to be afraid of.” Stan stated. Black Shadow was the rival of Black Phoenix Pack which is our clan. They are group of vampire who tend to take our place and once become a alliance of our main rival which is Helion.

“ Do not ever try to make anymore mistake Stan. I know how much you hated me but don’t waste your time dealing with them.” I warned him then walked out
