"Are you enjoying your trip?" Laughing at his own joke, he picked me up and threw me over his shoulder again. “They're here, under the tarpaulin."

While still pretending to be relaxed and still, I stole glances at those who were with us. Man and woman. The man smelled like a wolf that drove me off the cliff into the ocean, I remembered the woman from the Crypt nightclub. She was a member of the Bodega Bay pack. I knew it. She showed great interest when Randy's name came up.

Randy climbed the hill and then threw me to the ground. "Hell, this isn't even going to be fun."

“She suits Joe better,” the woman said. "You enjoy drugging your companions, don't you, Jo?"

"You went." The boot pushed me down a short slope. I kept my body loose as I rolled, but then I crashed into the base of a tree. I hit my back on the trunk. I lowered my head to the moss-covered area and watched the men.
