Aiden Brown

The glass was almost at her lips. Two drops of poison, colourless, odorless and undetectable.

One sip of it and two hours later, she’d end up dead.

That was the plan

Three days of watching her. Three days of memorizing her face, her routines, her rotation.

By the time she walked into that club, I already knew her schedule down to the minute.

When I walked in, she looked nothing like what I’d expected or what had been described to me. She wasn’t some smug billionaire flashing cash. Her legs kept shaking, and she kept looking at the door like she’d rather be anywhere else.

Just as she was about to press the drink to her lips, my handler, Silas, spoke to me through my AirPods to pause the mission

I immediately took the glass from her and poured the contents over my chest, and she thought it was part of the act, not knowing she almost drank herself to her own death.

Her whole body trembled when I touched her like she hadn’t been touched in years.

I knew Silas would still need me to complete the job, so I left a card with my number on it and placed a bet with fifty-fifty chance that she might call.

I had done this way too many times to feel any guilt

One of my burner phones buzzed on my table, dragging me from my thoughts, and I knew exactly who it was even before seeing the number

“Aiden,” my handler, Silas, said the second I picked up

“Boss. What happened with the Raina Cole hit? You told me postpone.”

“We’ve got new orders. You need to get close to her and find out some accounts and vital information about her company. I’ll send you the details.” He always spoke steadily, his voice was never raised nor in a rush

“Get close, how?” I asked

“You’ll improv,” he said. “You’re the best at improvising. Get in. Get it. Don’t get soft.”

He didn’t wait for my response before he hung up.

Just as I was thinking of a way, her call came in

I’d memorized her face from photos. None of them did her justice.

That night at the club, I didn’t let myself think she was beautiful, but meeting her at the rooftop with bright lights grazing her skin, the wind in her hair and that quiet defiance in her eyes, I couldn’t deny it… yeah, she was beautiful.

I exhaled, clearing the thought. I told myself she was just another spoiled billionaire.

A target like all the others.

But she didn’t act like the others.

No cocaine dust under her nails. No sleazy men orbiting her for favors.

Her proposal to be her fake boyfriend aligned perfectly with my plans.

I’d tailed her long enough to learn the rhythm. Two friends who joked that Raina Cole couldn’t be moved by a man if God himself dropped out of heaven shirtless.

Three nights watching her was enough. She didn’t flirt. Didn’t touch. Every man who tried got a polite smile and a colder goodbye.

That was enough for me. The proud ones were always the most satisfying to break.

She looked like she’d pay whatever I asked. But I didn’t want her money. Money was the poison that built people like her.

Besides, I hadn’t had real fun in months. Just jobs, blood, silence.

And her, she was all pride and control. The type who thought no man could touch her.

Maybe I’d enjoy proving her wrong before I ended it.

She smiled when she hired me. If only she knew what she’d really bought.

  • An Assassin For The Billionairess   Showtime.

Raina Cole. Give her a good show? Simple words but terrifying meaning Because if the “show” felt anything like what had just happened?I was one slip away from breaking every rule I ever created to protect myself. And I refuse food. Not again. Not over a man whose name I just learned forty eight hours ago. I didn’t survive heartbreak, and I rebuild my entire life just to melt in one stupid week. This week was supposed to prove something:That no man could touch me, sway me, or make me lose myself again.I straightened my spine. Ken was still so close I could feel his infuriating magnetic warmth, the warmth is the exact reason I betray my own rules in the first place. “Fine,” I said, steadying my breath as I stepped away from him. “We’ll give them a show. A good one. In public.”His mouth curved like he had been waiting for me to say that.“But,” I added sharply, lifting a finger between us, “we’re re-establishing the rules.”“Rules? Again?” he repeated, amused already. “Of cours

  • An Assassin For The Billionairess   Caught in the Act… Almost

Aiden CrossI opened my eyes and got a face full of Raina’s hair. There were a lot of ways I planned to start my morning. Raina wrapped around me wasn’t one of them. She didn’t just cross the imaginary line SHE set, she was practically using my body as a pillow. I cleared her hair from my face, pushing it behind her. The strands slid easily between my fingers. Her cheek was pressed over my heart, her leg thrown across mine. Her mouth was slightly open, a streak of dried saliva plastered at the corner.I had wanted to share a room with her. Separate rooms would’ve made this mission harder. The same room meant I could watch her, learn her habits, see when she left, when she slept…watched her every moment and know when to strike. And have a little fun breaking her while she tried not to fall apart around me. But I wasn't prepared for the warmth and softness of her body.I should push her off. My hands moved to shove her away but somehow ended up on her waist instead. She stirred a li

Raina Cole “Separate rooms?! Why?” My mom looked physically alarmed when she saw us trying to pick different rooms. “Mom, I promise it’s fine. We both agree. Right Ken?” “Anything you decide, sweetheart.” He replied. What was wrong with him? Why was he replying like I was forcing my decision on him? This was not what we agreed to!Before I could say anything, he put his arm on the door frame, leaning slightly on the door. His movement caused the hem of his shirt to snag up just enough to see the outline of his abdominal muscles. My eyes involuntarily followed the strong v-cut line on his midsection till it disappeared into his pants. “Raina be serious. We’re not in the 1800s. You’re young, you’re in love and I definitely don’t expect both of you to sleep in separate rooms for a whole week.” Ken cleared his throat, lightly touching my mother on her shoulder. Good, he was about to make my mom understand. “Mrs. Cole, honestly, I was hoping you’d talk some sense into Raina. I wou

  • An Assassin For The Billionairess   Hugged Emotions Back Into Me

Aiden CrossRich people always cried pretty. At least that’s what years of watching them crumble or losing a loved one has taught me.Soft tears, controlled breaths, one hand delicately covering their faces so they could be “picture ready” even in tragedy. But Raina didn’t exactly fit the usual narrative. The moment her father hit the floor, she was already scrambling to him, kneeling on the floor beside him.The sound of her cries was raw, broken, stripped of every ounce of that icy composure she wore like armor. There was nothing graceful about it. No pretty tears. No poise.Just a daughter begging her father to breathe.I reached into my pocket and felt my chapstick. The thumb pressed the base, feeling the weight of the poison still intact— the poison I intended to use on Raina’s father. If I didn’t get to Robert Cole first, then who did? Did Silas assign someone else?As I stood there watching as the family doctor arrived, I felt nothing. No iota of pity for the old man.“Could so

  • An Assassin For The Billionairess   Kiss For The Camera

Raina Cole Goddamn, he drove me crazy. He played the part well. Too well I wasn’t here for closure. I was here to smile so sweetly that it burned Shawn alive inside. But even now, I could still feel where his fingers had been, a phantom warmth that refused to fade. My parents adored him already. Shawn sat across from me, jaw tight, fork unmoving. I could feel the jealousy bleeding off him. Good. My sister just stared, disbelief flickering behind her fake smile like she couldn’t believe I’d actually brought someone… perfect. “Raina, oh my gosh, I love him,” my mom whispered as soon as he left. My dad joined in. “How long have you two been together?” My brain blanked. Shit. Ken and I hadn’t talked about that. “Uh… a year now,” I lied. I smiled, hoping they couldn’t tell. I made a mental note to get my story straight with Ken. “A year?” my mother gasped. “And you never told us!” I gave a shy laugh. “It happened fast.” Ken came back and took his seat b

  • An Assassin For The Billionairess   Dinner With The Enemy

Aiden Cross The Cole estate could feed a small country. Marble driveways. The mansion looked exactly like I expected, expensive, cold, and screaming for attention. Typical rich-people setup Raina was quiet beside me. I’d spent a few hours with her on the jet, and I’d already learned her tell. The way she bit her cheek when she was nervous. I caught myself. This wasn’t the kind of information I was supposed to be getting out of her but I couldn’t help but notice “You always bring fake boyfriends home, or am I special?” Her head snapped toward me. “Behave. That’s my mom.” She pointed to the entrance and I looked through the tinted windows of the car. I stepped out first, adjusted my shirt, and helped her down. Cameras flashed from somewhere in the distance. Not paparazzi — private security lenses. Her mom’s smile widened when she saw Raina, and she rushed to hug her. “Oh my baby, welcome. You have no idea how happy you’ve made your mothe
