Chapter 5

“We talked about this, Venice,” Grayson said with a whisper, hugging Venice back and assuring her that he won't go back on his promise of marrying her.

Mavis could not bring herself to watch any longer. She may be the wife, but at that moment, it made her feel like she was the third party… the one who ruined their almost perfect relationship. She headed to the plane first and settled on their assigned seats.

While waiting for Grayson, she called her friend, Jackson.

“What's up? I just got told that you took another week off,” Jackson stated. “Is something wrong?”

“No.” She smiled with a mixture of bitterness. “We are heading to our honeymoon.”

A moment of silence ruled over them.

"A honeymoon?" Jackson clarified just in case he misheard her.

"Yes," Mavis replied, her hand clenched as the image of Grayson hugging Venice crossed her mind. "Grayson and I are finally going to our honeymoon."

"What changed?" he asked.

Since it was something out of the blue, Jackson immediately sensed that something was going on and Mavis was keeping it from him.

"Nothing. We simply thought that doing something different for our fifth anniversary would make a change."

"I see. Then, if you need me, just call me any time. I have to go now. Show's about to start."

After their brief conversation, Mavis was plunged once again into her sea of doubts and what-ifs. She had no idea what Venice would say to Grayson, but she was convinced that she could make him back out from their honeymoon. It was likely to happen since her husband could not say no to Venice at all.

With that in her mind, she told herself not to feel too disappointed if Grayson would suddenly cancel their trip. That way, she would not be hurt too much if it were to actually happen. But much to her surprise, Grayson sat next to her and even kissed her right on the forehead.

"Sorry for making you wait," he said.

Gathering her courage, she looked at him and asked, "Is Venice coming with us?"

"No."

That was his simple reply. Their flight went by without any hitch, but with Mavis feeling more nervous of what was to come during their honeymoon. A week with only the two of them without work, it was something she did not ever consider happening. Grayson had always been a workaholic man so for him to take a week off of work, it was considered to be a miracle. Even then, it only showed how he wanted that divorce.

Upon reaching the beach side, the two of them were escorted to the private resort that Grayson rented just for the two of them.

"Isn't this a bit too much?" she asked while staring at the two-storey resort.

Grayson clipped his hand around her waist and led her towards the entrance.

"There is no such thing as too much for you, darling," he whispered.

"D-Darling?" Mavis stuttered, her cheeks burning like hell.

She only received a shrug from him before they entered the resort and led to their room. It was a room customized just for them with one large bed overlooking the sunset. The bathroom was as large as the one they had in their house, wherein two people could fit the tub.

Pink and white roses decorated the room, yet it made Mavis a bit uneasy and uncomfortable. She had no idea if Grayson did this on purpose or not, but one thing was for sure... Pink and white roses were not her favorite. They were the adored flowers of her stepsister, Venice.

"No. It is probably just a coincidence. The resort staff must be the ones who put them here and Grayson has nothing to do with it," Mavis thought just to comfort herself and stay away from her negative thoughts.

While she was unpacking her things, she saw Grayson's phone ringing. Of course, it had to be her stepsister so it made her want to reject the call, however, she could not do it because it might just become a reason for her and her husband to fight.

"Venice is calling," she said to Grayson, who just stepped out from the walk-in closet.

He walked towards his phone, but before he could answer it, he felt Mavis tugging at the hem of his shirt.

"T-Today's our honeymoon. Please," she pleaded all the while looking down on the floor. "Please, don't answer it. Two months. You promised me two months of your time and love, d-darling."

As much as her cheeks burning like hot lava, she was relieved when Grayson did not answer the call. He just let it ring on the table as he ushered Mavis out of their room just so they could have their early lunch.

"Do you have any thing in mind that you want to do tomorrow?" he asked in the middle of their dinner.

"Uhm... You probably want to go snorkeling, but I do not know how to swim. I'm so sorry," she replied instead.

"Then, should I teach you how to swim while we're here?" he suggested.

Mavis was quite taken aback upon seeing the smile drawn on his lips. It may not be as bright and as genuine as the smile he gave to Venice, but it was more than enough to warm her heart.

"It may be hard to teach me, but I will do my best," she replied, finally relaxing after being too tensed ever since they arrived.

After having their dinner, they both decided to head back to their room to rest after such a long flight. Mavis could not wait to have a quick soak at the tub since she managed to gather all the flowers that made her uncomfortable. She planned on using them with her bath, however, right after putting them into the tub, she heard the door opening.

"Wait, I am still not..." She gulped at the sight of her husband. "Done..."

"It's okay. We can just bathe together," Grayson said, looking unbothered unlike his wife.

"T-Together? No, you do not have to go that far-"

"Why? It's a normal thing for a couple to do this. And we will be doing it often in the future so try and get use to it as soon as possible," he interjected.

When he was about to remove the only towel that covered his lower half, Mavis immediately turned her back and covered her face with both hands. She could hear her heartbeat ringing in her ears and her mind could not obviously keep up with how things were progressing.

"There's still a lot of space here so get in," Grayson said right after holding Mavis' wrist before she could think of running away again. "Either you get in yourself or I will carry you myself."

"I'll get in!" Mavis immediately replied as she finally turned towards him.

Grayson could not help but chuckle, amused at how red her face was. He leaned on his hand as he watched her remove her robe in front of him. The kiss marks he left on her were still apparent, but it did not look as worse as the other day. Subtly, he clenched his fist upon settling his gaze on her flat stomach.

It may not be obvious now, but he knew that right at that moment, Mavis was carrying his child. He wanted her to abort it, however, he found it too harsh so he would give her a choice. Give birth to the child and give the full custody to him or simply abort it after their honeymoon. For him, that was his only way of showing a bit of kindness to Mavis.

As she sat across from him while covering her chest, he grabbed her foot towards him.

"That's not how this works," he whispered to her before slowly making her turn her back on him and sit in between his legs.

He hugged her from behind with his arms around her stomach. Pulling her closer, he kissed her nape and her shoulder until their bodies were against each other.

"Sorry," he whispered.

Mavis tensed. She turned her head towards him with a worried expression.

"For what?" she questioned, wishing that he was not planning on canceling their honeymoon or going back on his words about their two-month agreement.

"About the kiss marks. They still did not disappear until now," he replied.

She breathed with relief and smiled.

"Don't worry about it," she said before her husband leaned his head on her shoulder.

"I was planning not to go easy on you today, but those marks worry me," he muttered.

Knowing what he meant, Mavis felt her body grow stiff.

"W-We should rest tonight," she said. "It had been a long flight so... We should get enough sleep for tomorrow."

That did not seem to be a good idea for Grayson so he ended up biting the tip of his wife's ear. Mavis almost let out a yelp out of surprise if only he did not cover her mouth. He hushed her as his hand slowly traveled down between her legs.

"Then, doing it just once will be enough," he said.

Mavis threw her head back as pleasure creeped in every part of her body.

"You keep saying once, but you always end up asking for more," she muttered, still loud enough for him to hear.

A moan escaped her lips while Grayson played with her tits, kissing and sucking on them after making her straddle him. Mavis, on the other hand, moved her hips slowly against his erection, which earned her a sensual moan from him.

She put her hands on his lean and broad shoulders before looking him in the eyes.

"Kiss me," she said, sounding like she was pleading yet commanding at the same time.

She did not have to wait for another second because Grayson pulled her close and sealed her lips. His kisses were needy as if he hungered for it for so long. He held the back of her neck before probing her to open her mouth a little more.

His aggressive kisses alone made Mavis weak, making her give in to his desires. And since this was the very  first time he would be taking her in such a place, it somehow thrilled her.

"More... Love me more, Grayson," she chanted in her mind.
