John held Sharon's hand, and led her to his car, without taking a glance at the child's mother. The apology was enough, there was no point wasting his precious time at the dessert shop, when he had other imperative work that needed his attention.

He followed Sharon because of how he saw her leaving her house, and now that she's cheered up, he's leaving.

He acted like a gentleman, and opened the door for her to get into the car.

Vincent had told him this was also one of the attributes Sharon likes in a man, and for him to win her heart, he needed to act like one.

John had no problem with doing such things to please her, he is willing to make her his wife, for that reason, he has no problem doing all that.
