Violetta opens her mouth to say something to Sa'eed as he walks away but refrains and smirks at the back of the head of a frowning Halima. She takes the phone which belongs to Sa'eed and slides it into the drawer where documents are kept in the reception.
As Halima walks away Violetta places the phone on "total silence" mode which blocks all sounds and vibrations including from alarms, music, games and videos. Phone calls can still be made though.
She starts to go through his pictures, videos and other media just as the manager calls for her. She enters his white and baby pink office.
"ah, Miss Violetta, please have a seat." a smiling dark handsome young man with brown hair, whose name is Aaron says signaling with his hands to the chairs in front of his desk. It's the manager's son.
She smiles but instead of sitting where she has been asked to sit, she goes over to his side of the table and tries to sit herself down on Aaron's laps. He looks at her and pushes her off his laps then stands up.
"look Letta, i know we had a thing in the past but that was before my father trusted me with his business. You know very well more than anyone that i have never and will never mix business with pleasure. Don't make me...."
Aaron is cut off by his father, Arthur who walked in a few minutes ago but both the shameless receptionist and the principled young man didn't notice.
"Miss Violetta, the only reason I haven't given you your resignation letter to sign is because I've seen with my two eyes how you struggle to make ends meet back at home and pay for your mother's treatment. Don't make me regret my decision to help you."
"I'm sorry Sir. I'll take my leave now." and then Violetta leaves the office. On reaching the reception she recieves a call saying that she should announce that Sa'eed should get to his room.
"Mr Sa'eed Abba your attention is needed in your room. Mr Sa'eed Abba your attention is needed immediately in your room."
After doing her job, Violetta picks up Sa'eed's phone and sees four missed calls from a contact saved as "heartthrob" with a beating heart emoji and a kiss emoji. She removes the notification from the notification bar, puts the phone on airplane mode and continues to go through his media deleting any picture with even a glimpse of Halima in it.
************
Halima tries to go back to the bed but slumps down on the ground and tears start to cascade like a waterfall down her cheeks. Feeling the darkness trying to engulf her she finally gives in and lay there almost lifeless in front of the bedside drawer that has the intercom on it.
************
Sa'eed rushes to his room immediately he hears the announcement. What could be so important that Halima had to ask them to announce that he should get to his room? Why couldn't she call him on his phone?
In the elevator he checks for his phone but doesn't find it. Maybe it's in the suite. Maybe that's why she demands my presence. After a series of maybes the elevator dings signaling that he has arrived at the floor he is needed at.
On reaching the room he enters the suite they always use but doesn't see Halima there, he checks the bathroom and ensuite she's not there. Almost at the verge of tears as he loves his wife so much he remembers that there is another room in the suite.
On reaching there he meets an almost lifeless Halima on the ground slipping in and out of consciousness. He quickly picks her up and places her on the bed.
"sweetheart I'm sorry, please wake up. I love you wallahi {i swear by Allah} i can't live without you. Please no, please, i can't see my life without you. Roohie {my soul}, hayatee {my life}. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Saeed says already crying.
Sa'eed loves his wife too much. He has loved her since their early age and he still does. Seeing that he's just wasting time with all the talking he enters the bathroom and takes a bowl then fetches water and dashes out. After sprinkling water all over Halima's face she finally slowly regains her consciousness.
He smiles and hugs her then says "please Halima never think of leaving me, ever. I love you." Halima albeit in pain grins as though she has just won a trophy. Starting to feel dizzy again Halima asks for water under her breath. Sa'eed immediately scampers to the other bedside drawer where a dispenser is and fetches hot water in a cup and gives Halima.
After drinking the water. She shyly tells him what's wrong and he uses the intercom to ask for room service. The same woman who massaged Halima's lower back comes in and smiles warmly at the couple. Sa'eed requests that she please gets them gauva leaves from a guava tree he had seen at the back of the hotel.
The woman who is a widow named Angela picks some gauva leaves and boils them in the kitchen then pours the water into a flask and takes it with a ceramic cup to Halima. Halima gulps down three cups of the guava leaves and already feels relieved.
After Halima is finally feeling okay, Angela gives her a plastic bottle filled with hot water and Halima places it on her lower abdomen and ties it there. After they reach downstairs Sa'eed sights his phone in Violetta's hands as she grins from ear to ear. The way she's grinning one would think she has been promised a life time supply of chocolate.
On reaching there Halina ons the microphone and places it where the whole conversation will resonate. "Miss Violetta, why is my phone in your hands?" Sa'eed politely asks even though he's flaring like a red bull ready to charge.
He snatches his phone from Violetta's hold and looks at it "and why is your ugly face my wallpaper?" before Sa'eed can finish talking Aaron and Arthur come to the reception scurrying through the small group of people who have gathered around the reception.
"Miss Violetta, it seems like you want to leave here. Don't worry, let me make everything easy for you, you're fired, come with me to my office to collect your month's salary and dismissal letter." Arthur says turning to go.
Everyone is expecting Violetta to fall on her knees and apologize but being a shameless idiot that she is she smirks at Halima and uses her well manicured fingers to caress Sa'eed's face and says "catch you later handsome. I don't even know your name but I'll find out with time."
Verily, whatever has a beginning, must have an end. ~Meemxy Two days later... "Sa'eed, if Halima doesn't wake up before Wednesday, then you're marriage is automatically severed. Even if she does, unless she says she's willing to stay with you, it's a lost cause." This has been turning itself in Sa'eed's head since on Saturday - the day Halima put to birth, and today is Tuesday. Meaning that, in less than twenty four hours, Sa'eed's marriage with Halima will be severed automatically and Halima will become a divorcee. Neither the baby nor Halima are in any good condition. Halima slipped into comma the moment she gave birth while the baby, being born premature at eight months, is at the Special Baby Care unit (SCBU) and on life support. She can give up the ghost anytime though she has started opening her eyes from time to time.
It's been sixty eight days since the divorce. Halima has been counting and so far, she can't wait to finish the ninety days of torture. She was very foolish to think they could work out again, to think she was thinking of going back to withdraw the divorce issue, what a whimsy thought! One week after they got back, Halima had thought about it, this divorce shouldn't have happened. But it has happened and she is the only one that can change it. She went to Sa'eed - since they aren't living in the same rooms - only to hear the conversation that changed her mind.Halima walks through the corridor, determined steps are what she takes. She just needs to talk to him and then they'll go to the judge and forget the divorce issue."Yes, have you seen those girls? They look even younger in person. Fahida and Kamila. Very pretty girls. Your wife, oops, ex-wife would look like an old woma
"Daddy, Abba, please talk to Mummy. Wallahi I don't want to go back to that house, please." Halima is full verge on crying. The two men turn their faces to the side, showing Halima their napes. Their wives have told them to stay out of it and from the way they said it, they know there's more to it so they have to stay out. Halima wails and turns on her knees to Hajjo and Innayo."Ammi please help me. I will die if i go back there. You've always told me you love me, please show me that love now." Halima holds unto Innayo's skirt and sorrowfully, she turns away from Halima. She knows about Halima's pregnancy and she'd be damned if she's the reason why her grandchild doesn't get to experience the love of both of his or her parents. Even if Halima and Sa'eed won't reconcile, they should attempt to, so that whatever happens with the child in the future, would be both their faults alone and no one else's. Having no other choice, Halima turns to her mother.
The glow that's radiating off her skin is enough to tell anyone that she's the bride. Her smile alone shows how happy she is with the marriage. Despite the fact that she doesn't have a family, she's not worried at all, not one bit. She's contented and happy with the family her husband to be has provided her with.Looking in the mirror Lash's smile widens, even wider than a grin. She feels and looks extremely beautiful, happy and contented. Today is the daurin aure. Today she'll finally experience the happiness of a bride, a married woman. Her wedding events have been the talk of Abuja for the past two weeks. Instagram, snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube you name it. The wedding is trending on very social media platform; AiNayn is all over the web. Hussaina took it upon herself to see to it that the whole world knows about her brother's wedding. She created an Instagram and Twitter account and tag with the hashtag #AiNayn making
Halima hugs her mother and her father before they enter the car. She doesn't even look outside because she doesn't miss Nigeria, not one bit. She only misses her family and friends. Who's she kidding? She hardly has any friends but she's going to change all that now. She has already made a friend back at France, she's a Nigerian and she lives in Abuja too. They even exchanged contacts. They drive directly to the Abba Sulayman house as per Halima's nagging that she wants to see her Ammi, Teemah, Amalie and Afnan. Innayo was discharged two weeks ago and she's actually getting very better now.The Abba Sulaymans want to even start planning Amal's wedding. It's just Halima they were waiting for and according to what Fatima said in the morning, Hamza's parents are coming for the sa rana next week. They arrive at the house and Halima doesn't even wait for her parents. She just enters the house like she does a
It has been two good weeks since she last set her eyes on Zulqa, or even heard his voice. She isn't even bothering herself. Just staying indoors, eating, sleeping, taking care of her self and treating herself well. She can't let anyone dull her shine, she's HumyLash, no one, absolutely no one can dull her shine.Skin care routines, exercises, comedy videos, religious videos and healthy foods are what she is worried about right now. If Zulqa and her are meant to be, then they will be no matter what, and if they aren't, tyen it's probably for the best, Lash has been telling herself.Lash turns on her bed, hearing the sound of her phone ringing. She feels all over the bed, trying to figure out where the hell her phone is. She finds it and uses the fingerprint sensor to accept the call that's coming through. They exchange Salams with the person on the other end."Aisha, can I come to your house?" Lash sits
"Hip hip, hurray!!" all the women and ladies, about one hundred of them, throw their caps up in the sky and catch them.Halima is all smiles and grin. She has graduated with second position in the whole class and she can't be more proud of herself. The competition is coming up in the next two hours and Halima has the perfect award winning recipe, it's a dish she saw online but with a little tweaks here and there. She walks to the car and drops her certificate in the backseat. She's startled by a voice and she jumps a bit before closing her eyes to calm her heart."Hi, Halima. Congratulations." the voice says. Not wanting to answer but nit having any choice, Halima turns to the voice. There stands a man, very tall such that she has to crane her neck before she can see his head. He's fair, huge and very muscular. He's just the perfect definition of intimidating bouncer.
The problem between Lash and Umma has been solved. Even though Umma doesn't miss an opportunity to insult Lash, they're still good.Today, Lash is posting her first blog in almost four months. She was convinced by Qifdiyya and Hussaina to do that. And according to them, she can't take the video without her inlaws. So because of that, she's going over to their house for a sleepover. She has packed all what she thinks necessary for the sleep over and is now driving to the house. On reaching there, she takes the small Givenchy suitcase holding all the necessities she brought. She passes the foyer and hears laughter coming from the parlor. As she enters, she sees about ten ladies, including the four ladies of the house, sitting in the parlor all in wine gowns and peach headgears."Oh. My. God. Is that HumyLash?" one of the ladies, a fair slim one says standing up, with one of her
Innayo twitches her fingers. They feel weak and extremely heavy to her. Her nose and mouth are covered with what feels like a cup. She attempts to raise her hand and remove the cup like thingy, but she can't. She doesn't know why but she just can't.Finally gathering enough energy, she raises her hand as high as she can, only for it to go limp and fall on the bedside cabinet, slapping a cup down and waking up the other occupants of the room.Amal who's the swiftest of them all rushes to Innayo' s side and holds the hand she's still attempting to raise. Afnan quickly presses the red button by the bed and within seconds, the nurse on night duty comes rushing with drowsy eyes."What's the problem?" She says annoyed. No one would blame her though. She was woken up from her beauty sleep in the dead of the night by the worst thing possible, a loud blare."She's moving. Get the docto
