Chapter 11

Emily woke up to the light rays of sunshine that pierced into her room through the opening of her window.

She made to retire back to sleep when she remembered that she had a job she could get if she tried.

Her friend had told her that the job description came from a billionaire and as such, there was every tendency that she would be paid well.

She felt quite reluctant when she thought of how stressful the job of being a maid would be at a billionaire’s house.

However, she was certain that if she wanted to be able to provide her very dire needs, she needed to get the job.

Standing up and rubbing her eyes grumpily, she strolled to the bathroom, where she took a quick shower.

For a moment, she stayed still and glared at the mirror, looking at her reflection and watching how silent tears travelled down her eyes and cheeks.

She sniffed hard and walked back to her bedroom where a black long gown laid on the bed.

While she searched through the internet last night, trying to get some information about how one should appear as a maid, she had seen where someone noted decency.

The person had buttressed the need to wear baggy and worn out clothes or dresses, which would do well in making one appear so unkept but decent.

At first, she made to debunk the idea, but after thinking of it for a while, she thought there was sense in it.

Billionaires are usually married or something of sort, and it would be inappropriate to appear so hot and sexy in a situation like that.

Emily picked up the black dress and wore it, glancing at herself in the mirror and smiling widely.

Inasmuch as the black dress was baggy, it didn’t conceal all of her shape.

Her curves still peeked through the dress and made her appear beautiful and decent.

“This should do!” She said to herself as her heart suddenly jumped in elation.

She picked up her small bag and walked out of her apartment and into the street.

The street was noisy as hell and bubbling with activities.

At each side of the street, she found men gazing at her and whispering to themselves.

Some even tried to gesture on her or attract her attention with wide smiles and winks.

She cared less of all of that as the only thing she thought of doing was getting the job.

About an hour later, she was on the bus and on her way for the interview.

Just before the bus stopped, a lady stood up as though she were about to leave.

She held a bottled water, which she seemed to be gulping while walking towards the front of the bus.

“Oh my God!” Emily screamed the moment the bus forcefully came to a stop, spilling the bottled water on her and leaving her drenched.

The lady looked at her, with an amused look on her face.

“Can’t you apologize?” Emily asked in shock when she saw how reluctant and uninterested she looked.

“Apologize for what?” The lady asked as she shot Emily a dead glare.

“For spilling your water on me!” Emily replied, trying so hard to remain calm.
