LYRA'S POV

In a split second, there were troops of fighters infiltrating the camp. I instantly felt a surge of adrenaline through my veins as I spotted them moving stealthily through the highlands of the woods. How the hell is this possible? I thought there was some sort of magical shield protecting us from intruders. My eyes widened.

Behind their masks were a pair of green eyes that sent shivers through me. Menacing and feral, ready to tear through anything. Korra told me about the green-eyed warriors, the ones that had spotted them earlier but left after they couldn't find the crystal. I guess they must have sensed my presence and they were here for me.

“Leave her alone!” Tara's ears twitched to the cry of a woman behind a hut.

One of the intruders had her daughter in hand while the other dragged the woman by the hair, away from her child. I wasted no time racing through the cluster of people towards her.

“Look out!” the man holding the woman yelled to the other holding the girl.

DAMON'S POVI exhaled deeply, reaching for the bottle we were drinking from. This time I wasn't patient enough to reach for another glass. I tilted backward, emptying its content directly into my mouth till a perfect gauge, swallowing immediately and allowing its harsh heat to burn through my chest alongside the anger that seethed in my chest.Wagging the bottle after a couple of gulps, I took in the last drop. My vision had begun to blur, but somehow I still saw Aemond's face, smirking and taunting me.“What kind of man allows his family to go through hell, yet he sits back drinking and sulking?” A voice in my head yelled at me.“Shut up! I said, shut the hell up!” I rambled, my voice slightly raised as the empty bottle fell off my grip. I staggered my way towards my bed. “You think I'm weak huh! You think I'm weak?” I belched, reeking of alcohol as I mumbled. “Maybe you should have someone squeeze hard on your ball, then you will realize violence isn’t the only way to resolve a con

DAMON'S POV Pacing the room restlessly, I pressed hard on my knuckles till they made a cracking sound in a bid to ease my tension but it did little to help. “Where is he?” I muttered under my breath, turning on my cellphone to check the time. It was 9pm already and Charlie wasn’t here already.Returning from a lap of my umpteenth pace, I hit the breaks by the window, pushing aside the curtain and carefully lifting the blinds. There was nothing to see, just the dead calmness of the night interrupted by the loud chirping of crickets and croaking of toads in the nearby swamps and mud. “Come on Charlie!” I whispered, taking a peep to my right. It was just the guards patrolling and surveying the corners with no sight of Charlie making my patience begin to wear thin. I exhaled sharply with a heavy heart.Charlie was my only option to get details of Aemond's whereabouts. He knew BloodMoon better than I did and somehow, he still had a good rapport with some of the guards in there, though it

  • BLOODLINE OF THE MOON    CHAPTER 134

LYRA’S POVToday was the fourth day of my training and all I can say is, I am going crazy! Why does everything have to be difficult? And to think I didn't bargain for all these makes it more frustrating.Korra had dedicated her time and effort to putting me through the history of the past bearers. Their strengths and weaknesses. There was Monica, who hung herself after she watched her family murdered in cold blood for not giving in the pendant. There was Uriel, Cassie, and then my real mother, Aurora, who gave her life to protect the pendant and the entire wolf clan. And now, me- who is yet to master the rites of summoning the energy from within the core of the crystal. It was a sunny afternoon and I stood dressed in a white flowing dress with a little wooden box in hand, containing the crystal as I walked into the temple to practice. Before me were lighted candles of different colors, sculpted artifacts, an ancient book of enchantment, and an image of Iris, the moon goddess. My bare

DAMON’S POV“You don’t have to shut him up, Elder Gregory? Alpha Jake interrupted in a low tone, calming the tempo with a gesture of his hand.“Are you being serious? He just tried to question your capacity to lead the clan and you are not going to reprimand him for that?” I queried, frowning at Jake’s decision.“No! I said no!” Jake barked, putting the whole room in utter silence. One would think I was interested in their fears and concerns at this point. But I wasn’t. It was all for the show, so no one would get to see through my worries. All I wanted was to get done with this shitty gathering and set out to go get my wife and kid.I leaned back into my seat with my elbow on the armrest while I rubbed my chin watching how this unfolded.“I am not going to stand here and act strong. Everyone gets scared. I, too, get scared at some point,” Jake began. “A lot of you must have suspected this for a long time,” Jake pointed his finger across the members sitting in silence around the table

  • BLOODLINE OF THE MOON    CHAPTER 132

DAMON'S POV My heart leaped out of my chest at Aemon's demand. What? Lyra? He must definitely be out of his mind. “I see what you are trying to do here. You must be out of your mind to think I'd turn on Jake!” I barked in a low growl. “Hahaha! I knew you might try to fern your loyalty and that is why I needed to cut the tree from its root,” Aemond sneered. “I am not asking you to turn on your Alpha. All I am trying to say is this. It would be a shame to have your wife and son’s blood smear my floor mat,” Aemond hissed, disconnecting the call.“No no no!” I groaned, clenching my jaw and fist so tight I almost cracked my phone. What the hell is wrong with this persistent bas*ard? Why the fuck is he doing this? I paced restlessly punching hard into the pillar beside me.What should I do? Do I tell Jake about this? Naa! Aemond is a crazy psychopath. He would do anything to get what he wants! I can't afford to put Lisa and Jayden in harm’s way, not when I'm not hundred percent recovered
