The combat circle was set up at dawn.

Garrett's chosen warrior was massive, easily six foot four, outweighing Elara by a hundred pounds, with scars that indicated years of combat experience.

"No shifting," the neutral arbiter announced. "Hybrid combatants may use magic. Humans and wolves may use natural abilities. Combat ends when one party yields or is incapacitated. Begin when ready."

The warrior came at Elara immediately....all speed and aggression.

But Elara had been training for weeks.

  • BRED BY THE ALPHA KINGS   Chapter 115: Your Father Was Not A Good Man

The night air was cold against their skin as the four of them...Alaric, Kieran, Caspian, and Lysandra, walked to the isolated training grounds, away from the pack house, away from listening ears. The brothers moved in tense silence, their minds churning with questions. Lysandra walked ahead, her ancient form moving with purpose, her silver and gold hair catching the moonlight. When they reached the center of the empty courtyard, Lysandra turned to face them."Sit," she commanded, and the Alpha Kings found themselves obeying....three massive, powerful warriors sitting on the ground like children being called to listen to a story."Your father was not a good man," Lysandra began without preamble. Her voice was cold, cutting, absolutely devoid of sentiment. "He was a strategist. A manipulator. A king who thought twenty moves ahead and cared very little for the cost of his ambitions."Alaric's jaw clenched. "Our father was honorable...""Your father was many things," Lysandra interrupted.

  • BRED BY THE ALPHA KINGS   Chapter 114: What is this Awakening?

"Get her inside!" Alaric commanded, his voice absolute authority despite the panic raging through the bonds.Kieran had already shifted to his wolf form and was moving toward the pack house, clearing a path through the confused and injured pack members. Caspian was close behind, his silver eyes blazing as he scanned the area for any remaining threats. The magical explosion had been felt by every supernatural being with even a trace of power. Alaric could feel it like a ripple across the entire realm...every witch, every wizard, every Fae, every supernatural creature pausing mid-action because something monumental had just occurred. And his mate was unconscious. They carried Elara to their private chambers, laying her carefully on their bed. Meredith followed, her ancient hands already glowing with diagnostic magic as she examined Elara's body."What happened?" Kieran demanded, his voice a raw growl. "What is this Awakening? Why is she unconscious?""The Breeder's Awakening is a transf

  • BRED BY THE ALPHA KINGS   Chapter 113: This is the Breeder's Awakening!

Two days after returning from the Fae Court, Elara was back on the training grounds. The morning sun was bright, casting sharp shadows across the courtyard. Pack members moved around her in organized formations, practicing combat techniques and magical applications. Everything felt normal. Everything felt routine.Meredith stood across from her, hands glowing with soft silver light."Again," the High Priestess commanded. "Show me the binding spell. But this time, hold it longer. Push past your comfort zone."Elara nodded and called upon her magic.Silver light pooled in her palms...familiar, responsive, eager. She'd been training for weeks now. Her control was nearly perfect. Her power was responsive to her will. She created the binding spell and wrapped it around a practice dummy, holding it steady for thirty seconds, then forty-five."Good," Meredith approved. "Now release and immediately create a shield. One flowing movement into the next."Elara released the binding and spun into

  • BRED BY THE ALPHA KINGS   Chapter 112: If I am the child the prophecy speaks of?

"Did she say I was?" Elara asked urgently. "Did she confirm it?""No," Lysandra said. "She was always careful not to say it outright. But the way she spoke about you, the way she protected you, the precautions she took, it all suggested she believed you were the one."Lysandra stood and moved to one of the paintings on the wall, the one showing Auriel and the wolf Alpha in their golden moment of connection."I've spent twenty-three years wondering," Lysandra said quietly. "Wondering if your mother was right. Wondering if you truly are the child the prophecy spoke of. And I don't have the answer."She turned back to Elara."The prophecy details have faded from my memory," Lysandra admitted. "I was young when I learned of it...too young, perhaps, to fully commit all the words to memory. And with the centuries that have passed, those words have become blurred."She moved back to sit beside Elara."But I'm going to do something," Lysandra said. "I'm going to research the ancient records.

  • BRED BY THE ALPHA KINGS   Chapter 111: She's not even truly Fae

Aldric raised his hand for silence."The Council will now render judgment," Aldric announced. "High Lord Cassian Thornwood, we acknowledge your family's power and prestige. We acknowledge that House Thornwood's bloodline is one of the most important in our realm."Cassian's expression shifted slightly....hope flickering across his face."However," Aldric continued, "we cannot and will not excuse attempted murder, regardless of motivation. Your actions were illegal. Your methods were extreme. And your judgment was clouded by personal loss."He paused, letting the weight of his words settle."Therefore, this Council issues you a formal warning," Aldric declared. "You are warned that any further action taken against Elara will result in immediate stripping of your Council seat, exile from the Fae realm, and permanent banishment from House Thornwood's holdings."Cassian's face went pale."Furthermore," Aldric continued, "you will submit yourself to magical monitoring. Any attempt to creat

  • BRED BY THE ALPHA KINGS   Chapter 110: You Are An Abomination

The silence after Elara's testimony lasted for nearly a full minute. Then High Lady Seraphine stood. Her expression was one of pure fury mixed with desperation. She'd been quiet throughout Cassian's defense, throughout Elara's testimony. But now, as the Council prepared to move toward judgment, Seraphine could no longer contain herself."This is wrong," Seraphine said, her voice cutting through the chamber like a blade. "Everything about this is fundamentally, catastrophically wrong."Aldric looked at her with tired patience."High Lady Seraphine," Aldric said. "The testimony is complete. We move now toward...""We move toward the greatest mistake this Council has ever made," Seraphine interrupted. She stood and moved to the center of the chamber, her robes swirling around her in agitated movements. "And I will not be silent."She pointed at Elara."That creature, that abomination....sits in our Council chamber and we treat her as if she's one of us," Seraphine said, her voice drippin

She did, gasping as her back hit the cool tile wall. The contrast between the cold tile and the hot water made her shiver."I'm going to take you hard," Alaric warned, his voice rough. "I need to feel you. Need to know you're mine. Safe. Here.""Yes," Elara breathed. "Please, Alaric...."He entered

"I'm not going to ask you to....""We'll see." His eyes gleamed. "Now get in bed. You need sleep."Elara wanted to argue. Wanted to tell him she wasn't tired, that she didn't need him watching over her like she was a child. But she was tired. Exhausted, actually. And the bed looked incredibly invit

Alaric:Alaric had faced down rival packs, survived assassination attempts, and watched his father die in his arms. But sitting across from this tiny human woman who was glaring at him like she wanted to set him on fire was somehow more unsettling than all of that combined. The cottage was small, t

The words hung in the air like a death sentence.Elara's lungs forgot how to work."What?" she managed."The mate bond," Kieran said from behind Alaric. He sounded almost... apologetic? "When you touched me....when the bond snapped into place....it bound you to all three of us. You're our mate, Ela
