Lyric Adams pov

Finishing with my bath, Rita handed me a highly fragrant lotion and told me to apply it to my entire body.

“It's the Alpha's favorite scent. He demands that all of his bedmates wear it,” she explained.

Sniffing it, my face screwed up at the obnoxious floral smell. Sneezing from it, I wiped my nose.

“I would rather retain my own scent. This is appalling to me. It's my hide, like you mentioned prior. So I will be punished for not wearing it if it's that much of an issue,” I muttered as I handed it back to her.

Shaking her head, she took it and set it back on the side table.

“Put on that robe for now and follow me. I will show you where we sleep.

Doing as she asked, I glanced at her, turning around and saw deep scarring on her bare back.

Feeling my eyes, she sighed.

“When I first arrived, I was disobedient, was flogged, and placed at a lower rank. I've learned to do what is necessary to survive here. Anyway, the top three females have rooms upstairs,” she mumbled softly, then added, “Jasmine spends the most nights with Alpha and is Luna's sister.”

Shuddering, I pried for further information.

“What is the deal between Alpha and Luna?”

Snorting rudely, she smirked.

“They are in a contracted union because Stella's father tried and failed to take the Silver Mountain pack. Alpha Camden Sinclair took his daughters and made them his sex slaves. His brother Gregory had his eyes on Stella, so Camden made her his Luna just to spite him for money and prestige. Stella enjoys the arrangement and the power she has. She is also a horrible bitch.”

Furrowing my brow I inquired about the brother since he was my former Alpha.

“Does Alpha Gregory Sinclair still come here and have they settled their differences?”

“Yes, he does visit, but not frequently. They have come to an understanding, but that's enough gossip. I must show you where we sleep,” she insisted and I realized that she held the handcuffs in her hands.

“So much for gaining a friend,” I thought in discomfort.

Leading me down a narrow hall, I noticed the room was sectioned off with small cots and trunks inside each area.

Turning toward me, Rita said, “You have a choice between this space and the other one we passed. The farthest room is mine.”

Looking back, I told her that I would take the room closest to the bathroom, and she nodded.

“I will let you borrow something alluring from me, then after you change, I will cuff you, and you can go to your area and wait for the guard to return to collect you.”

Shivering slightly, my nerves were shot.

Rummaging through a simple metal rack of clothes, Rita took a white lace mini sheer dress off a hanger for me.

I slipped the form-fitting fabric over my head and pulled it down to the center of my thighs.

Exposed for anyone's eyes, I crossed my arms across my breasts as my nipples protruded from the thin material.

“Um, Rita…does it hurt,” I asked curiously.

She gave me a look of befuddlement.

“Does what hurt, Lyric?”

“Sex,” I murmured shyly in embarrassment, making the mature woman's eyes widen.

“Oh shit, you're truly a virgin!”

“Yeah,” I muttered sullenly, and Rita patted my back as she hissed through her clenched teeth.

Looking sympathetically at me, she nodded.

“Unfortunately it's going to be rough for you. Alpha is a well-endowed, rough lover, and your first time will lack the emotions of a man who cherishes you. Think of him as a phycopath that fucks you and gets off on torture. But if you please him, you might bump Jasmine from her top spot…but then again, you'll have a new hornet nest of issues to contend with,” she explained and gave me a look of pity.

“Sorry, Lyric, but I have to cuff you now or be punished myself,” she added begrudgingly.

My heart was in my throat as she clasped the cuffs on my wrists.

Thankfully they were on the front this time.

“Is Alpha a Lycan?”

Giving me a smirk she nodded.

“Both brothers are, didn't your wolf sense it?” She he questioned me curiously, and I nodded slowly and said, “Yeah, but I just wanted clarification.”

“Maybe that witch put a blinding curse on you when she placed that bracelet,” she offered, and I shrugged.

“Good luck, Lyric,” Rita said softly as I nodded and then walked to the area I had chosen.

Wishing I could brush my damp hair, I sat on the edge of the canvas cot and exhaled softly.

Thinking about Camden, I tried to recall how he looked.

He had inky shoulder-length black hair and rich, golden-yellow eyes framed with black lashes. He was a handsome man full of bitterness and pure hate, like his older brother Gregory.

“This is going to be hell on earth,” I murmured and realized that I would rather welcome death than have to submit to him.

Gazing at the copper bracelet on my wrist, I realized that if Camden knew it was there, he would relish in extending my death in torturous ways.

“Do I suffer now or later,” I muttered as I chewed on my bottom lip.

Hearing heavy footsteps from the floor above, I asked Rita the time.

“It's one in the afternoon. Our meal will be brought down soon if you're hungry,” she responded.

“Thanks,” I called back. Reaching up with both my hands, I tried to run my fingers haphazardly through the damp strands of my hair.

At least I got it out of my line of sight.

The guard who had brought me to Rita came down the stairs with a tray in his hands and called out for her.

I watched her scurrying past my room to greet him.

“Thanks, Ramsey, she cooed as I rolled my eyes, hearing the guard grumbling sourly back at her.

Seeing the man heading back, I eyed Rita, who came into my room with the tray.

“Romanov and Ramsey, huh? Do all the guards' names start with R?”

Creasing her brow, she said, “No, just those two. The beta is named Lev, and there are many others, but I don't know their names because they are at the pack house.”

She then placed a bowl and a plate of bread on the trunk in my room.

“Broth and bread, enjoy,” she quipped with a sarcastic smile.

Lifting the steaming bowl, I muttered Great.

“Eat, you will need the energy for the Alpha who WILL be sending for you. He's got a very hearty appetite for young, beautiful females,” she asserted, and I nodded slowly.

Groaning internally, I was dreading getting brought to his chamber.

Lyric Adams pov I watched my mate walk our lovely daughter down the aisle with tears in my eyes. They fell from my eyes and then onto the lovely gown I wore, causing spots to darken the material. Viviena handed me a lace handkerchief, and I thanked her. “You outdid yourself. This is a lovely Fae wedding, from the flowers to my loaned officiant,” she purred, and I nodded slowly as I watched Zeno's eyes widen at seeing his bride. Erissa was dressed in a flowing wispy white fairy gown adorned with tiny pink, yellow, and lavender flowers and looked like a princess. It was apparent that they both loved each other so much, in fact, that it was visible to anyone who looked their way, and my heart was overjoyed. My son was sitting next to Viviena with his eyes focused on the handheld video game he was playing, so I scolded him and told him to watch his sister. “Mom, this is girly stuff,” he growled as I narrowed my eyes at him, then raised my index finger, zapping the battery life on it

Lyric Adams pov Cesan and I have become greatly loved leaders of our Crescent Moon pack, and we're married, so my dad would be happy. My daughter Erissa has grown very fast and has become a bright, lovely young woman who is powerful and genuine, all thanks to her older adopted brother, Zeno.We were also blessed with a son who has a wolf and is growing like a normal child. The Unseelie queen and my mate have yet to reconcile, but she does visit on occasion, so there is hope.Relaxing on the patio, I watched Cesan chasing our four-year-old son, Linkin, around the front yard and smiled at the pair.“Mom,” Erissa said softly, and I turned to see her exiting the house but staying in the doorway.“Yes, sweetie?”“Um, the pack school is having a dance this Friday for the graduation class and…well, Zeno offered to take me. Is that alright?”My brow creased as I asked, “No other boy asked you?”Lowering her eyes, she said hesitantly, “They don't like me because I'm different, and Zeno is mor

Lyric Adams pov “I don't know what to tell Camden when he arrives with your son's corpse,” Cesan stated with unease. Hissing through my teeth, I suggested that he call him back quickly and inform him that it is unnecessary. Nodding, he rushed toward his office while my dad peered out at me from the living room. “Seems that I owe you an apology,” he muttered sheepishly, and I laughed before I asked him if he had seen Holly. “Cesan's mother is arriving and is the queen of the Unseelie now,” I said with a touch of hesitation. My father shook his head and huffed, "She should not be in this realm.” Eyeing him carefully, I nodded and told him I understood that, but Cesan and I needed her to stop Daray from trying to take Erissa from us. “Well, good luck with that. From what I have heard, the woman is a venomous narcissistic bitch,” he asserted as he crossed his arms. Rolling my eyes at him, I inhaled sharply and growled, "Perhaps you're wrong. I have been given wrong inf

  • Banished a Curse or Blessing    Chapter 58

Lyric Adams pov “Let's head out onto the balcony and take out some birds. Direct the energy at your target, and if you're unsure, watch how I do it," Salem suggested. Nodding, I gestured for him to go first, making him chuckle. Watching him clear the sky of the pesky birds, I was impressed, but I could see the darkness on the mountains and frowned. “Daray and his shadow monsters appear to be moving here slowly,” I commented, and Salem hissed as he pointed at a cloaked figure below. “Who is that?” He asked roughly, and I narrowed my eyes at the person. When the stranger glanced up at us, I gasped at the light eyes that shone brightly. A crow fluttered around the person and landed on his lifted forearm. “That's Zeno,” I muttered softly, and my brother eyed me oddly. “You know him?” Shaking my head, I told him that I didn't, but Cesan did, then I watched my mate come rushing out of the house to confront the young man. Not seeing him holding our daughter made me grow concerned

  • Banished a Curse or Blessing    Chapter 57

Lyric Adams pov The fear I had experienced during the birth and death of my first pup consumed me, and exhausted beyond belief, I drifted off when my daughter entered the world. I was roused awake sometime later. Feeling fingers running through my temple hair, I opened my eyes slowly and saw Cesan beaming brightly, a wrapped bundle in his bent arm. “Meet our beautiful daughter, Erissa, sweetheart,” he said softly. My eyes widened when he pulled away the blanket. “Black hair?” I questioned him, concerned that she was still Camden's. Cesan chuckled as he lifted her and said, “My mother has jet black hair, so it's in my DNA. She's undoubtedly my child.” He then turned Erissa to face me, and I smiled at the small white spot hidden in her black fuzzy hair, the slightly pointed ears, and then her huge, inquisitive green eyes that matched her daddy's. “Wow, she's perfect,” I mumbled as I reached out to hold her. “Unfortunately she is growing quickly. I can only assume it's

  • Banished a Curse or Blessing    Chapter 56

Lyric Adams pov Sleeping soundly, I was startled awake at the bedroom door exploding into shreds of splintered wood. I sat up and saw my father. “CESAN! YOU BASTARD!” Sin roared as electrical sparks began to whip around him. Just as he was about to unleash them on Cesan, I jumped over to block my mate and felt the bolts hit my back, then hissed between my clenched teeth. Cesan's eyes were wild as he stared worriedly at me, but instead of reassuring him, I turned my head and growled at my dad. “What the fuck, Dad?!” Sin's arms fell to his side as he cursed. “What have you done, Cesan?” He groveled, causing me to furrow my brow. I noticed that my Crescent Moon mark was illuminated and thought it was cool. “You mean this?” I asked as I lifted my moon mark toward him. “He means that you absorbed his bolt and should be dead, “ Cesan explained. I gasped as I clutched the covers to my bare chest. Flipping around to face my dad I asserted, “You were going to Kill My MATE! You ass
