Chapter 27

Julia POV

The car ride to his new house was marked by a tense silence. As we approached the city's outskirts, I noticed him veering off course onto a familiar street I knew all too well.

"Why are we going this way?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me.

"You should visit Mrs. Camellia before we leave the city. We don't know when you'll have another opportunity," Romeo replied, his tone devoid of any intention to engage in conversation.

I felt a pang of gratitude mixed with longing. Being separated from mama had left a void in my heart, and I longed to hear her comforting voice.

"Thank you," I said, my words sincere and heartfelt. Staying away from her had been unbearable, and I wanted to ensure she was doing well. I had considered calling her, but facing her in person seemed like a daunting task.

As we turned into the familiar street, the Mercedes came to a halt in front of my building. The driver opened the door for me, and Romeo's voice echoed in my ears.
