Chapter 26

Julia POV

Stepping down the stairs, I walked in the direction of the kitchen. Following my usual routine, which I've been doing since I moved in here, waking up, eating, sleeping, reading, and repeating. Yesterday, Romeo told me that we would be leaving this morning. I had no desire to stay in an isolated place with him, but unfortunately, I had no say in the matter.

As I entered the kitchen, hoping to find Luca, I was met by Romeo. He stood behind the counter, dressed in a pristine white T-shirt and gray joggers, busily stirring something in a stewpot. The enticing aroma of delicious breakfast engulfed me, triggering an intense growl from my hungry stomach.

It was the first time I had encountered him in the morning; he usually left before I woke up. Typically, I would have breakfast with Luca or one of his men assigned to look after me.

"Good morning," he greeted me with a stoic expression, his focus returning to his culinary work. Strangely, he seemed so domestic at this moment.
